At the Meeting Grounds - Time Unknown The Plan Thus Far....
(@All: Note the below is subject to change based on PC & NPC actions/suggestions.)
It is strongly recommended by D.O.R.K that Darathara and Meiva coordinate efforts with civilians in the construction of dead falls leading towards the eastern side of town. However, due in part to estimated the value of local vegetation, the effort will be limited to pit falls whereever reasonable to at least slow invaders. Organizing emergency triage areas and fire brigade efforts is to be left to Meiva after, if time permits.
Urgala and Torunn are instructed to lead what other available civilians in the construction of "dummy" militia units, re-purposing any available scarecrows to shorten the time.
D.O.R.K, Beedo, Vark, Ghelyrn, and Mr. G(Elephant) will work largely on creating giant trip falls towards the expected entry zones. Once work in previously mentioned objectives is completed, those still able and willing to work are to re-routed towards completing the giant trip falls.
Pending a request to swap places with another lead, Lukian and Narth are in charge of patrolling Triboar alongside any thus far unmentioned contributors, providing any emergency aid to the above as necessary, and delivering completed dummy units as necessary to assigned locations.
Devin has been left free to attempt enlisting the aid of Hyuth Kolstagg. If time permits upon return, his aid in the pits is requested.
If time permits, the leads will be on a rotating watch until militia returns, or the next few days.

Devin sets off back to The Boar's Rest as Hyuth's mansion is know to try and enlist his help in the defence of Triboar. As he makes his way along the path he is swooped several times by the Gargoyles all of which are chittering maliciously. One gargoyle swoops so low as to almost force Devin off the path into a large mud puddle. Eventually he reaches the door where he knocks and waits until he is granted entry. As he enters the entrance hall/foyer, Hyuth looks up from whatever he is doing and says "back again - what do you want this time?"

Hyuth rubs his nails on the chest of his smoking jacket and says "I could hold my own against a Giant but why should do anything to help this town. It's been made clear to me on more than one occasion that the townsfolk would really rather I didn't reside here. Some have even gone so far to claim that I am a magnet for disaster. No doubt I will get blamed for this giant attack if it eventuates!"

"I will vouch for you, for what it's worth, that this disaster is not your doing or fault. The Lord Protector knows this as well I assure you. If the village is destroyed by giants where does that leave you? Your help in defending the town can only help you. If you sit by and do nothing then I wouldn't blame the townsfolk for thinking you had a hand in it."

"Come on, Come on you’re going to appeal to my better interests and instincts. When I was a younger man arguing with initiates of Mystara and other churches in The Yawning Portal on the slopes of Mount Waterdeep, they could construct a much stronger argument than that. Perhaps if the town is destroyed in a giant attack I can lead its reconstruction in a manner more pleasing and useful to me!” Hyuth replies.

"Well, you must have lost many of those arguments because the Lady of Mysteries, the Mother of All Magic, Our Lady of Spells is Mystra not Mystara. If you can't name the god who grants you magic through the Weave properly then I doubt you can pronounce your spells correctly either."
Devin gives the man a curt nod.
"I will inform the Lord Protector you do not wish to assist in the defense of the town."
Devin turns and leaves the man's house to return to the keep.
As Devin makes his way back to the Lord Protector's Tower all the time muttering about selfish mages who can see the big picture of if they can aren't interested in it! he comes to the first trench that Beedo and Vark with Golemogote's help are digging. The young elephant is having a wonderful time carrying buckets of dirt out of the trench but every now and then he accidentally (?) up ends one of the buckets on the sweating and cursing Goblins.
After telling everybody to carry on, Devin passes a run down tavern whose roof has been burned and subsequently collapsed some time ago, when a figure wearing rusty chain mail embossed with the gauntlet insignia of Helm staggers out and accosts him "whash goin' on whash all the 'citment about?

"Hail stranger. We prepare for the defense of the town. Make for your cellar or find a place to hide. Trouble is on its way." He replies looking the man up and down. Seeing the disrepair of his mail he figures his blade is just as bad. While he may have Helm's insignia, the slur to his words says the only thing this man has fought recently is his own demons.
Lukian is dutifully fulfilling the role assigned by Dork, dashing about looking for small tasks he can fulfill to help others while also making sure to remember to return to where the scarecrows are being altered so that he can position them at the places indicated by the living construct.
Unless given a warning otherwise, D.O.R.K will have started working on the third and last trench or at least be on her way with the Gobo crew and Mr. G in tow. But with nightfall fast approaching, the group may settle on a smaller pit that can be further expanded in the morning. However, if over time the request for guidance in the overall defense project proved time consuming, she opts to join the rotating help brigade to remind or advise as necessary.
As for Meiva and with no small amount of trepidation (or reluctance?) in the task, she continues to supervise cultivation of the smaller pits on the opposite until all(or as many as possible before night) are completed. Once done she spends what time is remaining getting civilians to position buckets and farming utensils so that they were well in hand to at least defend themselves should running is not option at a moment's notice.
(@All: Unless someone absolutely WANTS to play Meiva since I dodged the NPC draft. Though I assume DM will remain in charge of managing her Character Sheet? Or make a dummy/copy for players to manage without any of the personal stuff.)
