"I guess I am unsure how an elephant would serve us in this? A mule would probably suffice for our needs I would think. But I will defer to you. I have no issue walking myself. "
Devin turns and looks at DORK.
"So I'm a bit confused, are you DORK, Red, D? What do you prefer to be called?"
Before D.O.R.K got too carried away with her elephant antics she returned the grasp. But much like her hug, her idea of 'firm' involved an ever tightening vice grip with every shake that threatened to crush bone. She lets go at the first sign of visible discomfort. "This is inefficient in fully conveying the full depths of my appreciation. But I will take your lesson under advisement for future interactions. Thank you. Commencing Appreciation Pro-..."She catches herself mid-sentence and mid-way into opening her arms for another hug, and instead turned it into an awkward bow.
The griffon rider would catch a brief flicker of pink in her eyes before she turned to gush over the thought of an elephant. She stops upon finally noting Meiva's and Jaylen's reactions, tried emulating coughing into the back of her hand, and then proceeded with her eyes once again pick (for a while) to stand at attention at her brother's side, ready to move out. "As previously stated, you may refer to me as either a Dedicated Operative of the Red Knight, DORK, or D with my approval. Only those that I myself, Brother Torunn, or The Mother may authorize any other alternative names, Devin, Servant of Mystra."She says. "Clarification: Also, an elephant if properly provided for are the perfect mounts for dealing with both small foes and large enemies; such as kobolds and giants." She goes on to explains in a matter of fact tone. "Query: Why do you not possess a last name?"
After acquiring her answer, her attention then immediately shifts to Jaylen and Meiva's, or more pointedly their feet as she asks, "Query: Is your silence in regards to my brother's earlier suggestion to be taken as acquiescence?"

Devin looks out over Waterdeep as he considers D's last question.
"My mom never gave me one D. I have always been just Devin. I don't know her last name either. I also don't know who my father is. The House of Wonders is my home, my family. It is enough. "
"Well if we are all in agreement, how about we go and track a place that can sell us an elephant. Then we can do some individual shopping and aim to leave Waterdeep just after noon to early afternoon."
Torunn then walks up to Diego, "Good sir, would you be able to provide directions to this House Brokengulf emporium?"
Finally Torunn walks back towards D.O.R.K, with a serious expression."Now Red, as this elephant was mostly your idea, which I have no problem about, you need to ensure it will be looked after, a primary task for you."
Imagine Torunn talking to D.O.R.K, like a parent talks to a kid as they agree to buy a first pet
"I know where the House Brokengulf emporium is Torunn. I also have a map of Waterdeep. We should have no problem getting there. I know this city well. "
D.O.R.K. is slow to turn away from Devin after his answer at first. But the tone more than anything of hearing her name grabs her full attention. She is silent after and starts tracing the symbol on her forehead a few times. Her way of subconsciously seeking guidance from her goddess.
"That is... But my... I am... I. Can. Prioritize. I can... do this. I... Yes. Yes, you have my word, Brother." She says, twitching and even sparking for a second there at the beginning. "It will be difficult. Plans... Rearranged. Will need barding too. So much work, but it will be well worth it." She says, eyes glowing with an almost sinister purple glow while leading the way down stairs. Though she goes slow enough for the others to easily pass her by. The whole while she is rubbing her hands together, much like her mentor did when new recruits were turned over to her.

Having decided that they want to spend some of their newly acquired funds on purchasing an elephant and the necessary equipment, Devin leads the party down the spiral staircase to the ground-level. As the party reaches Ground Level, Nilorin says "I think I will leave the elephant hunting to you" he says looking at Devin "and the other members of the party. Remember love magic for itself, that its practice is an art and the gift of the Lady." At this Bram says to Meira "I will take my leave now and if I could pass on some words of wisdom, remember all life is a cycle, deftly and beautifully balanced-and it is our duty to see and understand this cycle and continually draw other's attention to it."Adama says to Jaylan "whilst not a lot of excitement, it was too much for the day after Midsummer, I off back to the Tower, for some much needed shut-eye." Unlike the other mentors he does not make a long speech, he simply says "Defy!"The three mentors then turn to leave the party, but as they do so, Nilorin turns back to the party and says holding up the bag of harbour moons, "who wants to look after this lot?"
As the party, led by Devin, emerges onto the ‘The High Road’ he turns left and sets off confidently up the ‘The High Road’. After travelling for about a quarter of mile, yet still in the Trades Ward, they reach an intersection with the aptly named ‘Street of Tusks’. Devin turns up the street and one block back from ‘The High Road’ you see a large four story building, in front of you. On a sign above the large double doors are the words Brokengulf’s Exotic Animal Emporium.
Throughout the entirety of the trip D.O.R.K has been nothing but dead set on reaching their goal. No hawking of exotic weapons, soldier in uniform, passing construct of a different nature, or any of the usual distractions that might tease her inherit curiosity had been able to distract her. If Torunn on the other hand tried to, she still retained enough of her protective 'little' sister instincts as to man handle the dwarf (if need be) just to keep the group on track. But almost as soon as she was done doing so, she is right back to focusing reaching the end goal.
"Query: Brother Torunn?" She asks without breaking eye contact on the sign. "Query:... Do you think they will be scared too? Like our new compatriots, Jaylen and Meiva?"She asks, a note of worrying entering her voice for the first time in a long time. Whether she receives encouragement or the lack there-of, D.O.R.K pantomimes taking in a deep breathe, and then releasing it in one big, awkward huff as she goes to step inside with eyes lime green. Well, peek inside first, and THEN nervously step inside. .

When Devin reaches the bottom of the stairs he stops and listens to the words from Nilorin.
"The joy of magic is within me, a gift of the Lady. Thank you for your words of wisdom and encouragement. I will not fail. "
He reaches out and clasps arms with his mentor. A grin is on his face. He then takes the bag of gold and stows it in a bag.
When they reach the emporium he turns to the others,
"Here we are. The House of Brokengulf specialises in Exploration and Guiding services. They should have what we need. They also run other services throughout the city where we can procure other goods for our travels."
To Adama, Jaylen replies, "Dare much," but in a distracted kind of way. When he looks at her, she shakes herself and gives him a little smile. "Thank you, Adama. Go sleep. I'll hopefully see you again soon at the Tower." She doesn't watch him walk away, and when the others head up the street following Devin, she plods along, her eyes distant.
Meiva looks much more confident now that she's not on that platform. She looks Bram in the eyes and nods once.
"Thank you, Bram. I shall do my best to show others this balance through my own actions,"she assures him, already turning away to hurry towards the front of the group, though a respectful distance behind DORK and Torunn.
When the group reaches the emporium and Devin speaks, Meiva nods, but does not respond. Her eyes drift from time to time towards DORK, then away again.
As the party steps across the road to the Emporium they notice that on the right hand side next to double doors is a smaller single door, obviously designed for humans and creatures of a similar ilk. They open the door and step inside. They find themselves in a 20 x 20 foot room which has two roll top desks which are placed diagonally. Behind the first desk, a Gnome is writing in a ledger and sitting at the other is half-orc with some sort of written document in front of him. Pinned on the back wall is a large map of Faerun with coloured pins stuck in various places, obviously marking locations important to the company. On the right hand wall is a large unit of cubby holes filled with sheets of paper of various sizes.
On the left hand side of the office they can see a doorway opening out into what is a much larger space, which obviously is fronted by the large double doors. As the party enters the Office the Gnome turns around with a smile and says “welcome to Brokengulf’s Exotic Animal Emporium, my name is Gimble Scheppensvolk, how can I help you.”The half-orc just grunts and goes back to reading the document. He uses his finger to follow the text.

D.O.R.K had only acknowledge the glances from Meiva once during the trip. But beyond just look back herself, she set her attention back ahead of her soon after without a word. D.O.R.K deflates almost immediately seeing the room in full, nd spying not a single elephant in site. She only just keeps from physically slouching over when the (Rock?) Gnome addresses the group.
If not the first, DORK is a close second or third person to rush the gnome's desk, and practically slam her hand down into it. She only just checks her strength this time, though a faint handprint would linger on. "Greetings and Salutations, Master Gimble Scheppensvolk of the Brokengulf's Exotic Animal Emporium."She says in Gnomish. Though to most, it sounded more like a combination of squirrels chittering among themselves and common spoken so fast as to have the words even blend together.
Continuing on in proper common, DORK squats down so that her hed barely peeked over the desk. "I am a Designated Operative of the Red Knight. But you may call me..." She pauses and glances over to Torunn briefly. "D, or DORK for short. My companions and I seek a mount worthy of our noble calling. Conclusion. We require an elephant... One elephant please!" She says in a chipper tone near the end with eyes glowing purple.
Gimble says "an elephant hmmm. So if ducks have flat feet to put out fires! I ask you why do elephants also have flat feet?" The Half-Orc looks up as Gimble begins speaking and rolls his eyes and you hear him mutter something along the lines of "not that old one again."
