As things turned out the day before, either D.O.R.K. forgot the original reason for her request to Meiva, or thing she wished to discuss solely involved asking her one question about the breadth of her knowledge on elephants... and then spend the rest of the time just observing the wood elfs interaction with waterdeep. Whichever which it is, she skeedadled as soon as it became clear that her inquisitive antics started to wore on the elf.
For the first night of camp, D.O.R.K is meticulously taking care of what was slowly becoming a laundry list of checks and tasks in regards to Golemogote alone. No matter how large or small the task, the mechanized warrior of faith worked with a renewed vigor, and a patience the patience of a saint."Yes. You flesh bags are quite flaky. Though, I find myself worrying that the precautions taken by Master Grimble has not be enough."She says nonchalantly as she carries on checking his condition. After a moment's pause however, she stops and looks to Jaylen. "That was a joke. Hah. Haha. Hah."She looks away for a moment, and then back to Jayleen. "That was not a good joke. I apologize. Also, you should not lie. Unless you are loner. You spend time with animals the all the time. Like I do."

As they set up camp on the first night, Torunn offers to take whatever watch the others dont want, he is used "to late nights and tonight will be no different.
Once they are settled down, Torrun retrieves a block of wood from the cart, Devin will recognise this as one of the pieces he bought the previous day, finds a comfortable spot to sit down, open his bag and pulls out his woodcarving tools, (Whilst Torunn will gladly put any adventuring gear and/or other bits and bobs on the cart, he keeps all his tools on his person). He then says a quick prayer to Gond to guide his hand and starts to whittle way at the block, forming a general shape.
If anyone asks what he is doing or what is he making, he will reply without looking up from his work, "Carving a block of wood."or "You will see in due time." respectively.

Jaylen's eyes turn from incredulous to sympathetic. "Hmm ... well, about that ... Well, as little experience as I have had with animals, I have almost none with ... living constructs. In fact, you're the first I've had any real contact with. You surprised me with your forwardness, and it scared me." She blinks. "I'm sorry if I offended you. But," she says quickly, giving Dork a fussy, but playful look, "speaking of offending: It's not very nice of you to refer to me or the others as 'animals' or 'flesh bags'."
"Understood. I will endeavor to adjust behavioral protocols."She proclaims during the brief pause without stopping her work at first. But Jaylen's next statement prompts her to stop, and look to her with dimly glowing blue eyes. "Clarification. As I said, the flesh bag comment was a bad joke. Mother said those are good for breaking the ice... I still do not know what this ice is, but have thus concluded it to mean new meetings."She explains. "Also, I do not see how referring you to animals is offensive. You are. Sentient Animals. But animals. As I am a living construct. And elves are, according to some records, godlings. Demi-gods. Or Mortal children of a deity."She awkwardly tries pushing out her chest to show presumably pride.
Either that, or someone was pushing hard enough into her back to make her bend awkwardly. "But if is offensive to you, I will include this in the adjustments of behavioral protocols.... Additional Clarification. I was not offended by your earlier comment. It is just..."Her eye shifts back to dull yellow before she leans against Golemogote, tips some imaginary hat over her eyes, and crosses her arms across her chest. "Why shucks. It was just awfully confuse'n is all, sweet thing. Seeing as I am what I'm clearly am."She says with a southern drawl. "But that's okay. You ain't know any better. 'spose I should just be glad yer first reaction weren't to take a blade to me. The Mother would've been awfully disappointed if I had to put one of the pieces down on account of a bit of mis-commu-no-cation... You get me?"

As Dork is making her southern drawl adjustments, Jaylen begins to ask, "How new are —", but she stops as the strange, exaggerated accent pours out of the warforged in a curiously offensive way. As she finishes, Jaylen glares at Dork and then silently walks around to Golem's other side, ending the conversation.
D.O.R.K tips her imaginary hat back, and with at least some degree of confusion watches Jaylen go. "Hm. I believe I offended her again.... Noted. Humans are easily upset. Behavioral protocols require extensive adjustments." She says to herself, resolving to spend the remaining evening avoiding Jaylen... not that she really needed to try. Probably.
The Next Day...(Applies only when folk are ready to move on)
Still reticent to make the necessary armor changes for Golemogotê, D.O.R.K. put the stockings in place with an apology. She spent the rest of the day with it in her thoughts until the sounds of bells coming from ahead snapped her out of it. Acting on reflex, D.O.R.K at the very least slows down Gole's pace to a crawl as she tries to throughly scan for any sign or reason for the bell. Finding none immediate, she says without break eye contact on Night Stone.
"No giants in visible spectrum. Villager activity as unnoticed. Curious. Either way, Golemogote has not been appropriately prepared for combat yet. Would suggest using noise of bell for quieter approach by foot, and investigate. I will try to find decent cover before hand for Golemogote before we make approach. Unless one of you have better plan?"

Devin spends the days quietly riding along. He'll engage in small talk, but for the most part he enjoys the scenery of the road and the open air. After the hustle and bustle of city life the quiet country side is a nice change of pace.
"I used to escape the city and spend time in the hills to the north of Waterdeep when I was younger. That's when I met Bram of the Leaves."
He remarks one time riding along with Meiva.
"He was with a druid named Lara that I often met in the hills. She saved my life once and taught me some spells to keep me safe as city life was pretty rough. I owe her so much."

As D.O.R.K. slows Golemogotê down, the party estimates that the total area of the village contained within the wooden palisade is about two acres. The land on this side of the river is largely cleared, with occasional large oaks; more than likely this land was used by the villagers to graze their animals. To the north of the village about half a mile away can be seen a thick forest and about three-quarters of a mile away to the north-west can be seen a low range of hills. Just near the lowered drawbridge (see map) is a large tree to which the cart could be tied. Golemogote could also be chained to the tree (50’ of chain would have been included in the purchase price) which would also give him sufficient space to graze and scour the ground for acorns (assuming any can be found from last year’s crop). Meanwhile the bell continues to ring.

Devin stood as they approached the village and heard the bell tolling. He surveyed the area and saw the damage to the village and the keep.
"It looks like the Lady of Nightstone's fears came true and the cloud giant's attacked. We need to make our way into the village. There are sure to be injured people in need of aid."
He looks up in the sky fearing that he would see the floating Cloud Giant City.
As each cleric climbs down Golem, Jaylen smooths out her traveling clothes and looks at the city across the drawbridge. Glancing at the road, she notices some tracks.

Meiva nods.
"And maybe there will be others in need of being injured,"she mutters, strapping the small round shield from her back to her left arm. It is plain metal with a simple emblem of an oakleaf. Meiva pats her shortsword in its scabbard and glances at the others.
Torunn follows Jaylen across the drawbridge, grabbing out his crossbow. "Just a suggestion, but lets start with the buildings to the north and work our way around to the keep." he says to Jaylen.
Just as soon as Golemogotê had been appropriately taken care of, D.O.R.K follows after the others with her javelin held at the ready for the first sign of danger. She only moves to the front if confident the bells would cover even her clanky footsteps. But if not, she hung back, and kept an especially close eye for any movement from the nearby watch towers.

It takes the party about 10 minutes to decouple the cart from Golemogotê, chain him to the tree and fill his tub with water from the river (one of these was also thrown in with the general equipment). Meanwhile Jaylen has been examining what looks like tracks just near the drawbridge. Eventually she sighs and donning her shield she moves across the drawbridge accompanied by Toruun who has his crossbow at the ready. D.O.R.K. is bringing up the rear, and not wanting to be left out Devin and Meiva form the second rank. As Jaylen move to the area between the gate towers, they notice that immediately inside the village is a large boulder half-buried in the ground.
