"We did," Namura cut in. She was enjoying taking in the small details of their tree encampment, which was further proof that Flux had been successful. "Although you didn't miss much excitement, just a whole lot of swimming."
The ranger sat on the ground and leaned her head against the wood. "I'm itching to kill some Consulate scum, but if we blow up their ship we cannot use it later to make an escape," she said.
Flux tosses the Simic contraption at Turbo. It bounces off of Turbo, initially seeming to have no effect, but opens up before it lands on the ground, and Turbo soon vanishes as its essence is sucked into the contraption. If Flux could smile, it certainly would do so, thinking of the implications this would bring.
"We should go do some reconnaissance tonight, to see what we're dealing," Namura said after a long pause. "We need to know what kinds of fortifications are on the ship before we can make a true plan of action."
"There's no time like the present," Lero says with a grin. The sun had already began drying him off, but he dived back into the water nonetheless. "I'm going to get a closer look at what the Consulate landed on these shores. Since we have the advantage of..." He stops, trying to think of what to call it, "Water breathing, I doubt we'll have much trouble."
He allows time for others to join him before diving deep into the swampy water and making his way towards the location of the consulate ship. He also keeps his eyes up to the surface for any patrol boats in the water. The thought of ambushing them from the depths of the water brings a smile to his face. The group got this amazing ability to breath in the water, even if temporary, so he planned on taking advantage of it.
Regretably, this saga must come to a premature end for circumstances beyond it. For those who read but are not involved with the plot, I'll repost what I posted to Discord in regards to the plot:
Hundreds of years ago, the demons rampaged across the land, slaughtering thousands. A powerful group of mages led a counterassault, driving through the demon's forces and confronting the head demon, Cyth K'nahr (a name I think I dropped once). The mages sacrificed themselves and their life force to fuel a spell, trapping the demon within a vault sealed deep in the earth. The spell caused time to stop in the vault, and "rewired" the very essence of both aether and mana to do so. As the years passed, the spell began to break, and the demon's influence and mind went out into the world, seeing what had happened.
Cyth K'nahr, the Desecrate Blight
His conscious eventually came to a promising scientist in the Consulate research department, and "inspired" the scientist to formulate artifical aether, the red aether which you have come across multiple times. The scientist was none the wiser at first to his mind being influenced by a demon, but as he continued to worth on the naether, his was slowly driven mad by Cyth K'nahr, as his conscious spoke to him, whispering to him of untold power. The scientist snapped one day, killing those within the laboratory with a bit of this new naether and the power in granted, and fled the scene. The Consulate covered up the attempt as best they could, though Buama discovered bits of it (when she rolled that natural 20 regarding naether and its origin).
The scientist fled, following the voice of Cyth K'nahr until he arrived at the hellish vault where Cyth Knahr was sealed. Cyth revealed to the scientist a ritual which would transform him into a demon himself. This is how the Dark Schematic was born. The scientist sacrificed many elves to fuel the ritual, where he transformed into a demon, renaming himself Chaxaxeuduhm.
Reborn as a demon, Chax served as Cyth's right hand, spreading the Dark Schematic throughout Kaladesh for nearly a hundred years, slowly amassing a force which could finish what Cyth had started. The "language" you saw Lero in the tunnels was in fact remnants of that ancient spell, which had "leaked" into the ground underneath Peema.
Anyway, a small sector of the Consulate sided with Chax in exchange for rule over Ghirapur when Cyth's plan came into fruition. The consulate ships you saw were in fact gathering people to fuel a spell which would rival the ancient mage's and break the stasis which bound Cyth K'nahr, allowing him to run freely once again.
Cyth K'nahr is blue because his aether is natural. Demons cannot be born without a true demon involved, which is why Cyth needed naether and the Dark Schematic to formulate these "artificial" demons that you have come across and fought. That's why they're red. The green aether.... Eh. I dunno. The natural colors of aether vary based on their environment haha.
Szayez was initially a random add-in to try and spur interest in the campaign. He had no real part in it... except for his crocanura. Because you didn't destroy the eggs, some demons would've stolen them and then used them to create masses of demonic crocanura..... which would've been a disaster haha.
Elto would've been Elto, and given information on Chaxaxeuduhm and his plan. He's the kind of guy that was like, "I'm gonna win anyway, and you're going to die, so I'll tell you how doomed your friends are."
Oh yeah! The Blackflight Guild. They didn't have any major roll to play. They were basically playing as many sides as they could in order to profit. Providing slaves to the demons, drugs and spices to the cities, information to both Renegades and Consulate... They had their hands in everything.
And the black dragon would've been a "if you kill him he has some good treasure." Nothing too fancy, since dragons in Peema lack the intelligence of dragons in Faerun.

Quill nodded in agreement with Namura's statement. "I would enjoy taking command of that ship. And a few more dead Consulate lackeys wouldn't hurt."
"Using a consulate ship to leave this place? I am in favour of this idea, so long as we can eliminate the consulate-folk without too many loses."
Flux attempts to use the creature storage device on Turbo, to see if it works with lifecraft.
