Meep stood in place, beady eyed and shaking. Hands washing over each other continuously as he scanned the room and the others gathered. When the guards leave, Meep was quick to move about the room, ignoring the others, but still keeping his distance.
"We's are going to die." Meep offered in his scratchy common, while still looking around the room for anything to grab and keep. Even looking through the discarded rags of clothing. "Magicss, yess."

"What you have just seen in the last 60 seconds is what I know. I was ambushed and taken from my camp in the mountains outside Erden. I've been in and out of consciousness. I have no idea for how long, or how far I travelled. I awoke moments ago stripped of my belongings and draped in these clothes. My name is Dhara. What is this place? Are we prisoners? Who were those things?"
You see before you a small, wiry red-skinned tiefling with shoulder-length, purple hair, silver eyes, and small black horns that extend from beneath her hair at the top of her forehead and almost straight back in a wave, peaking up at the back of her head. She is quite stoic, and the rather traumatic events that have just transpired seem to have left her entirely un-phased. She looks to Halhace at his question and though she doesn't answer her eyes briefly flash white and over by the targeting dummies behind her a gust of wind kicks up some sand.
She immediately looks around and begins assessing her surroundings looking for a) anything that indicates her location and b) items or objects that may be useful.
Kamos: (to everyone) "You are a slave in a gladiator arena. I wouldn't waste your energy searching the room, we looked, and you'll want your strength for the next round of fighting."
Kamos goes back to a corner and then goes back to sleep.

Halhace nods to those tht either raised their hand and said that they knew magic. He made a quick motion with his hands and muttered out something i his antive tongue, blasting one of the dummies with a Firebolt. He nodded to himself as it left a small scorch spot on the dummy. "He is right for now rest and save your strength."

"Don't mind him, he's just grumpy. He's actually a pretty good guy. Well at least I think so... erm, we just met. But he's quite useful on a scrap. Oh, pardon my manners! I'm Jaylen by the way"
Jaylen extends his hand in turn to the newcomers, Meep.and Dhara.
"Albrec, (he gestures to the half-orc) was working out the finishing touches on an escape plan. Something about loose bricks and a distraction. You're welcome to come with us..."
Dhara extends her hand and shakes with a nod. "I've been sleeping for possibly days. I don't need rest, I need freedom. Tell me about your plan. I specialize in distractions. They said there would be gold for this fight - could that be true?"
Meep was just about to start searching through the sleeping Kamos when he lost his focus as Jaylen started talking. Upon seeing the offered hand, the kobold was sceptical, but took it into both his own, inspected it and then began to gnaw on it. "Meep is hungry. Yess. Thankss"
(my passive perception is 12 incase that is a factor for someone trying to go through my person, unless this was in such a quick succession that im not fully asleep and notice the kobold.)

Halhace snorts at the question and shakes his head. "If they do pay us it will be enough for them to then make us pay for food if we do not want to be left to starve like the other miserable sods we passed on our way to this room."

"My dear Meep, I would appreciate if you refrain from gnawing my hand. I may need it heal us later if they mean to make us fight again. If you need something to gnaw that badly, I folded a set of bloody, sweat soaked rags over there."
He yanks his hand out of Meep's mouth and points to the slave rags he disrobed just before they entered.
Dhara tries to collect herself upon entering the area. She relaxes slightly, taking in deep breaths and making note of her surroundings. (Visually she would not notice anything not mentioned before unless she goes into one of the rooms.) A slight breeze is coming over the wall, when suddenly, it picks up and a stronger gush of wind runs past you. You can just taste salt in the air. Even through the shouting and chatter of the lively city, you can just make out what seems to be the sound of waves? Dhara has never lived near a big body of water, but for some strange reason, the sound is just as she imagined.
Wanting to quickly gather as much information about her surroundings as she can (and as she has often done), she would explore both rooms as well to get the full lay of the land.
Meep snarled slightly as the food hand was taken away. Glaring at the human for a moment before stomping away to continue searching the room. Tapping at the stone blocks with a clawed finger and digging slightly into the ground from time to time. Any palm sized rock he might find, the kobold immediately snatching it up.
After the chat with the rest of the group, Dhara wanders off to explore the rest of the area. The room closer to the stairs looks like a communal room with long benched tables. The hobgoblin is sitting in the corner inspecting the practice swords and only briefly looks at you. The goblin is sitting behind one of the tables and playing with dice. As you enter he excitedly looks at you and smiles “Come join Jisthelek for a game!” When you leave his smile fades, his attention turned back to his dice. The room looks otherwise tidy, probably recently swept.
The other room has a tiled pool in it. At the moment it is empty but from what you gather it’s there to hold water. You also notice an odd scent, almost like pig fat but slightly off. There are a few clothes lying around and you see a small pipe coming through the wall, aimed at the pool.
If you go down stairs the hobgoblin guards that are in the room will address you “Go back, relax, you die soon enough!”they laugh and encourage you to return upstairs.
You were given quite some time to change and chat before the hobgoblin guards return to take you away. You are lead back through the hobgoblin guard barracks and through the two gates. You pass a long rectangular room in which you were made to wait after your last battle. It seems much bigger now that is not filled with slaves.
This time, however, you do not go to the room with weapons on the table, but instead you pass through the other door. Through it is a natural tunnel, declining slightly and curving to the left; and a man made corridor leading straight right from the door. You are led down that corridor and into a big open room filled with people shouting. You are each flanked by guards who grab your arms to make sure you don’t try anything funny in the crowd. They lead you towards the back of the room, where in the middle you see a fighting cage; 25x25feet and 15feet tall. Much smaller than the arena you just fought in. There is a large person in the cage, adorned in armour and swinging a great sword. Opposing him is a human in leather armour with two daggers. His companions are lying on the floor, most are breathing, praying the next hit does not end them by accident.
Just as you reach your destination the crowds’ cheers grows louder, and as you look the human has been flattened under the weight of the great sword.
You are now in a makeshift fighter’s box, framed with wooden fence and pillars. The fence comes halfway up a humans’ chest, so anyone smaller can’t see over it. (Which means Meep would not see the human getting hit with the great sword. He would only hear the shouting of the crowd.) There is an array of polished weapons leaning on the wall and a hobgoblin guard presents you with leather armours in varying sizes and a single scale mail. From behind the guard you see the man in the tunic with deep blue lining appear, “A gift to my investments. Nice aren’t they.”He motions to the armours with a big smile. Upon a second look at them, you see they are all slightly decorated. “The better you do now the more money we can all make at the tournament. Good luck!” with that he walks off and is lost in the crowd.
(If more than one of you wants the scale mail roll dex, you can use any weapon but there is only 2 of each so state what you want to use)
Dhara will take leather armour and two shortswords, unless someone else wants one in which case I'll take a dagger instead. Is there only melee weapons?
Meep stood in place, beady eyed and shaking. Hands washing over each other continuously as he scanned the room and the others gathered. When the guards leave, Meep was quick to move about the room, ignoring the others, but still keeping his distance.
Jaylen changes into the new clothes, folding his slave rags neatly and methodically.
"Do you two (gesturing to the two newcomers) have any idea what's going on here?"
Jaylen raises his hand and nods to Halhace. "I have some magical aptitude as well, but I am a bit limited without a symbol of my faith to focus on."
"We's are going to die." Meep offered in his scratchy common, while still looking around the room for anything to grab and keep. Even looking through the discarded rags of clothing. "Magicss, yess."
