Halhace will forgo the armor and simply grab himself a quarterstaff as he had done before, going over to watch the small fighting arena to see if there was anything that would give him an idea of what they would be fighting.

Meep wouldn't hesitate in going for one of the leathers and putting it on. Then going for one of the rapiers before they were both grabbed up. The kobold would look through the rest of the table for any kind of instrument or focus he could use.
Sadly there aren’t any instruments; he can just pick up an arcane focus. There is a focus that might catch Meep’s attention. A small dragon’s claw that has been hollowed out with a silver thread wrapped around it and attached to a short string. It looks like a little blowing horn.
The affect is more satisfying than you had hoped. The guards around you jump at the sound and glare at you. People that are nearby start turning their heads in confusion, trying to find the source. The focus is very small, so Meep looks a little silly ‘blowing’ through it.
I grab a shield, a holy symbol, and a quarterstaff. I eye the scale mail, but wait to see if one of the others need it more. If no one goes for it I take it, if not I settle for a leather.
Halhace is escorted by two hobgoblin guards as he makes his way to the arena. The cage has 2 barred doors on opposing sides, and a bigger door that leads out of the room through the back wall. There are people carrying out the unconscious and dead fighters from the previous fight through the door adjacent to you. On the opposite side you see the large, armoured fighter leave the cage and sit in a similar fighter’s box as you were led to.

Halhace snorts once more and shakes his head. "Magic is my fighting expertise so unless you wish to stand in front of me and serve as man sized shield you will have to deal with my magic." He responds in his native tongue.
Albrec picks up the scale armour, shield and short sword, than follows Halhace, who is trying to figure out what to expect for the upcoming fighting. Albrecs approach interrupts his focus, his thoughts lost to the crowd. Albrec on the other hand doesn’t pay attention to anything but the arena in front of him. A human is in process of preparing the space for the next fight; your fight. Sweeping away possible hints of what’s to come. What you do notice is single curved lines carved in the stone floor of the arena. To get a better look past people, you used one of your hands to grab on to the cage’s bars. Now, pulling it away, there is a very sticky thread attached to it and you can’t seem to get it off.
Jaylen who is also by the arena, whispers to Albrec as he is attempting to rid himself of the thread. If it weren’t for the fact that Jaylen was literally speaking into Albrec’s ear, even he would not notice his words! (Stealth is better for this)
Dhara assesses the rest of the room while others are concentrating on the cage. There is a thick crowd throughout the room and the guards are no longer grabbing at your arms, although they are still keeping tabs on all of you. If you made a run for it you might be able to get out but then you either have to go back the way you came or down a tunnel that is unknown to you. The dim light of the room would help you blend in if you manage to slide through the crowed without pushing people over, or if there was a distraction to your guards.
Meep you are no longer in that space. You were all lead together to a big open room filled with people. (Unless you want to assume you searched before the guards came to get the group?)
Meep constantly surveying the surroundings was sure he saw an opening the moment the guards had released his arm and the thick crowd was filling in. Naturally, the kobold would normally care for his own safety, with no regard for other races that weren't of his own tribe, but the other slaves could be useful as distractions in their own right or at least allow Meep to slip away and find freedom for himself.
Pulling out the Dragon Claw Horn, Meep blew into the small focus and produced the sound 30'away of a raging bugbear within the crowd. minor illusion An all too familiar sound for the kobold as he was mimicking the same bugbear that attacked his tribe.
If the result was anything like the thunderstorm that caused the guards to jump early, Meep was expecting quite the panic that would allow himself to slip away... and maybe the other slaves. He cared little about them, especially the human that took away the food hand.

A loud bugbear roar sounds from the other side of the fighting cage. Those closer to it start cowering or running away. From their reactions you suspect it is not uncommon for a fighter to go rampaging through the crowd. The guards start running to the sound, pushing their way towards the source. Only 0 hobgoblin guards stay close to you, but their attention is turned away. Their hands are firmly on the weapons.
The guards are distracted and not paying attention to you. The crowd of people closest to you is slowly moving towards the exit of the room, staying as close to the wall away from the sound as possible. The bugbear roaring continues, deafening any other sound in the room.

"We are now far better armed and armored then we have previously been. Do you think now is an opportune time to attempt escape?"
Dhara remains stoic and determined. She is more concerned with her escape than the pending fight at this point.

Meep would explore the rooms off the half hallway on his own unless the group is being escorted together.
Kamos, there is one dagger left on the table?

Halhace will attempt to sneak into the crowd and blend in, not being to confident since he more likely stood out due to being a full blooded orc.
