"Tell that to master Finks and his hatred for savory treats. Apparently he has secret sources of gourmet dining down here in the underdark. Ye ok Mr Black? "
Rowland glances down at himself, then scans the pool for signs of more tentacles before answering Elmo, "It appears my breeches were the only casualty friend. It's a good thing I'm wearing my half trouser undergarments on this day!"
"Lad... that's not decent. Master elmo went through the same issues of 'being cold' back in dark lake if I recall. I believe he said 'not all halfings are half bad'...buahahaha"
Still trying to attract the water monster by dragging his javelin in the water. Ready to stab with it with his javy javy
The water burbles and swirls moments before the Water monster rises up from the surface and with 4 large water tentacles, attacks Rowland once again! While still catching his breath and pondering the meat snacks now lost to their watery grave, Rowland is unable to roll away in time before getting wrapped in the crushing grips of the Water monster. Squeezing the life out of the Ranger and brutally *****-slapping Rowland until he's left unconscious and barely breathing, the Water monster begins to once again retreat into the water, bringing its prey with it. (Critical hit! - Rowland takes 29 damage bringing his HP to 0)
Before it can do so, Leon is able to finish his spell attack, however this time, it doesn't appear to have any effect on the Water monster - it must have resisted it!
Elmo's quick wits and sharp aim are all that's needed to send a crossbow bolt straight towards the Water monster, puncturing a hole right through where its face would surely be - Elmo's sure that if it were made of flesh, the scar left from his attack would be glorious. (Successful attack on the Water monster!)
Both of Gremryl's javelins impale the Water monster and it roars back a loud, gurgling sound! (Successful hits!) Looking incredibly wounded, as far as anyone can tell by looking at a magical monster seemingly made of water, the Water monster retreats back into the pool and is invisible from sight. Rowland is being pulled into the water...
With Dwarven ferocity, Gremryl struggles to free Rowland from his impending watery doom! Making big splashes in the water, hoping to at least partially hurt the Water monster enough to release its grasp on Rowland, one of the attacks connects with enough force to finish off the monster...this time for good.
Mikey will leave terrestrial concerns to the rest of the team. He will use his innate aquatic abilities to jump into the pool and explore it thoroughly for any signs of anything worthwhile.
After regaining consciousness, Rowland thanks the group in turn and swears, "******* underdark pools, should have known some vile creature would be lurking, I owe you a great debt friends, that was too close."
Elmo will gets into a safe position and holds his shot.
