The two guards will not let you pass the gate for free. But while they are arguing with Jack and Froskan, Isk was able to slip outside, find an officer, and mention what happened.
The two guards deny it, of course. But the officer believes you over them, as they have caused trouble before (but nothing this serious up to now). You still need to pay 2 SP apiece (already deducted from your sheets), but more guards are summoned in to arrest these two. The officer welcomes you to Nunkreet, and you can move on.
(Your party is in Nunkreet now. Only took 2775 posts!
Where would you like to go or do in the city? Sightsee, look for a hotel, find a blacksmith, visit the churches?)

Reverie eyed on the guards as she passes them by, following the party quietly. Wondering why they were trying to get the money out of them. Then, she looks at Jack and Trim for a moment, listening to their conversations. "Well, maybe we could try to ask them both of those questions. I am also curious how come followers of Talona able to steal those books." After a moment, she looks around the area if there is a church of Oghma or a hotel nearby.

Reverie Forestgleam—Human Paladin Level 5 in Frontier City of Nunkreet Extremely busy and busy as ever recently, but I will trying to catch up as much as I can
(OOC: It has been a few hours since you left the Watchful Guild compound, which is in the northern suburbs of Nunkreet.)
Isk wasn't around (for post 618) when Bommie gave some information about this city, a few weeks ago. But the rest of the party shares it with him. That includes spreading out the drawing she made. (Middle "spoiler" in that post.)
Looking at her map, there is an industrial zone to the west (blacksmiths, tanners, butchers), craftsmen to the east, and the Avenue of the Divine to the south. About half a mile to the south is the High Castle, with slums and farms to the west of that, and merchants/administrators to the northeast of the Castle.
If you are in doubt, there are vendors near the North Gate with tourist information. The nearest one has an older woman with five children, with a small sign reading "City guides - 1 silver each hour; 1 copper per question".

OOC: Reminders about "lifestyle expenses" from the PHB. The average costs each day include housing, meals, and keeping your equipment maintained. The levels you are most likely to look for (excluding Squalid, Poor, and Aristocratic):
Modest (1 gp / day per person) - rent a room in boarding house or inn; soldiers, laborers, students, priests
Comfortable (2 gp / day) - private rooms at a finer inn; merchants, skilled tradespeople, military officers
Wealthy (4 gp / day) - comfortable suite at a fine inn with servants; prosperous merchant or small business owner
The next question is location for the inns:
Near the North Gate will be more expensive than the average, as it is aimed for tourists and travelers looking for the first inn in sight. Near the South Gate (on the other end of town, closer to the Harbor) is pricier still.
To the west (blacksmiths and tanners) the conditions will be slightly worse, due to more background noise, smoke in the air, and the occasional odd taste in the water.
Along the Avenue of the Divine, some of the faiths run inns, of all qualities. You may have trouble finding a vacancy (the faithful get priority). The clerics suggesting donations and trying to convert you to their faith may get on your nerves.
If you go to the east (craftsmen zone) or southeast (merchant & city officials area, between the Divine and the High Garden/Castle), you will have to search more to find the inns, which are buried in commercial/residential buildings.
The High Garden area is almost exclusively Wealthy / Aristocratic, would have additional fees to cross the High Wall, and the men of the party would have to pretend to be servants of Reverie (nobility background).
If you wanted to stay in the city for a longer time, it would be possible to rent (or even buy) a house, but I figured your party is moving enough that inns make sense for now.
I threw in the old lady and the children as possible guides, in case you knew exactly what you want, and wanted someone to lead you to it (instead of searching yourselves).

(ohh, renting a house or own a house sounds tempting but maybe later... ;-;?)
Reverie looks at Trim and then nods as she walks towards the old woman and the children, giving them a copper. ”Where can we go find the inn or a place around the east? Somewhere comfortable if you please.”

The elder lady takes the copper coin. She has looked over your group, noticing your fine traveling clothes, only a few weeks old. And your adventurer's bearing.
"Grammy Hazel thanks you for your patronage. Inns to the east? There are a few that will fit mighty lords like yourselves...
"I could scratch directions in the dirt, but wouldn't it be simpler to hire one of these well-behaved children to lead you to it? They could also point out eateries along the way... A silver will help out with their daily expenses." (She obviously overheard your discussion about getting lunch.)
The children, although obviously poor, are in clean clothes and have been fed recently. At the mention of hiring one of them as a guide, they put on exaggerated pitiful, hang-dog expressions, and are pleading with their eyes.

Hazel almost falls on her backside, and the kids are momentarily stunned. Hazel grabs the 5 SP, and has the kids help carry some of your luggage.
Hazel says to the oldest child (10): "Not the usual. Take them to the 4H."
(To your group): "I recommend the HinterhaltigHase Hotel, which I'm told means 'sneaky rabbit' in some forgotten language... It is a bit noisy, since they run a school for the kids (when they reach their teens), but they also hire them, so the hotel has a lot of workers to take care of you... Tell them Grammy Hazel sent you, and they'll treat you right."
The buildings are wood and simple stone, mostly two stories high. The road east is 50' south of the (northern) Low Wall. The kids are running around your group (even though they are carrying some of your heavy luggage), pointing out which shops are run by nicer people than others. They identify a few restaurants which are poorly marked. (If you were walking without the guides, you would have missed those restaurants.) They are more eager about the candies and sweets stores, but they do point out enough adult restaurants that you can try a variety of cuisines as you like.
While dining at a street cart (flatbread rolled around seasoned meat and/or grilled local vegetables, with a BBQ-like sauce), you are aware of the noise to the south. Two hundred feet to the south are much higher buildings of marble and granite. That is the edge of the zone of churches, which surround the Avenue of the Divine.
After 40 minutes, you are 500' east of the gate. You arrive at a 4-story building, wider than most, with a small sign over the front door, with the cartoon drawing of a grey humanized rabbit. The kids urge you to enter.
