Isk walks up to the area where the foot traffic is going and will stand in line (if there is a line) or look to speak to anyone who is working the door.
Also a trio manning a "Help" desk. There are a few people in line for that, so it will take 2 minutes to speak to one of the acolytes there.

Reverie Forestgleam—Human Paladin Level 5 in Frontier City of Nunkreet Extremely busy and busy as ever recently, but I will trying to catch up as much as I can
Reverie and Isk stand in line, and when it is their turn at the Help Desk, the rest of the party joins them.
Reverie only gets as far as saying "return books" when the 16 year old acolyte says (bored): "Return picture books to the cart on the left. Put books with words in them on the table to the right... Or are you paying overdue fees?" He has that teenage attitude that all of you are old, simple, and need to be spoken to slowly.

The acolyte realizes that you are talking about a book that was stolen some days before, and gets upset that thieves would be brazen enough to walk into their church and try to ransom it back.
While he is calling for the guards, the older acolyte (20ish) at the desk comes over. She was told more about the situation. After you hand her the document from Bommie (detailing how you recovered the book from the deathlocks who were trying to break into it), she has a guard escort you to the non-public part of the building, where you can privately talk to one of the upper clerics.
Bishop Theo (as the high elf introduces himself) discusses possible ransom reward to get their book back. (OOC: Yeah, they are still a little bitter that you don't simply hand it back to them, with only their gratitude for your work.) "With the locks on it, the book is worthless to you, but it has value to us... First off, there are limits on what you can be given. If you ask how to become king of the popes, or how to cast a Wish spell, it is not going to happen.
"We can provide life-altering information right now: how to improve your farm yields, best techniques to harden steel, navigation charts, locations of known silver mines... Information of that level, which will make you better than your competitors.
"If you are looking for personal truths, greater hidden secrets, lost knowledge... The clerics here are unable to give that to you. We could give you a meeting with some of the higher beings that are servants of Oghma. The book would be the door price to sources that you normally would never see. They will have their own price that you must pay, but in return you'd get knowledge that would be difficult or impossible to get any other way.
"Please decide, and the choice must be the same for all five of you. Do you want the information that can be delivered now, or the opportunity for greater information?"

Isk says, "Friends, silver mines and harder steel are of no interest to me. I need to know what happened during the time I can't remember, and how I ended up so far from my post. The greater beings of knowledge may be able to help me."
Trimyrai: (to the party) "I wouldn't get your hopes up Isk, they said personal truths and lost knowledge is beyond their power. It makes no difference to me which option we decide on, since neither really interest me."

"I'm happy to seek out the greater information if isk and jack are wanting to do so. Not sure what information specifically I'd seek out, but i'm sure we can come up with something," Froskan says. Then, in response to Theo's last statement, "We've faced plenty of peril so far, and nothing worth having is easy."
(OOC: I am assuming that your group is in travel clothes at the moment for walking about the city.)
Theo: "If greater knowledge is your choice, then gird yourselves for tomorrow morning. Return to this building by 9 bells. We will open a portal to the Shadowfell, and your group will enter and travel to the lair of the Sages of Stone. The book in your custody will mark your path, and show the Sages of your righteousness to be there. The lair is a only a few hours travel, but there are many dangers in the Shadowfell, especially in recent days."
If you have urgent questions, ask. Otherwise, Theo is done for today.
If there is more you want to do around the city this evening, you have a few hours before nightfall. Or you can return to the 4H for dinner and to rest as much as possible.
