As soon as she sees Theo, she releases a breath she's been holding without noticing. "For sure, Sages grant the great advises to us individually. Before we get here to this place, we landed onto the place—same as this temple and your room—and saw a monster who disguised themselves as you." A pause. "I did just as you told me, chanting the quote you gave me with the crystal... But it led us to the—the wrong place. After we escaped, we finally have landed here, the proper place. Did this happen to the previous people who might... have entered the Shadowfell like us?"

"Trouble in the Shadowfell?" Isk fails to hold back a laugh that quickly turns into a choking cough, "Yes, there was trouble. It's a place full of horrors." He regains his composure and relaxed his guard a bit. "We were able to return the book, and do a little bounty hunting for your sages as well. Then a giant, tentacled monstrosity tried to eat us. Just another day in the 'Fell I suppose."
As he says this, he reaches out with his senses to feel if the glaive is wary of anything going on in the room.
Theo takes back the return crystal. He is somewhat confused by what Reverie said, but relaxes after Iskander talks. "The book is returned. Good. From the way you were talking, I thought it was trouble with what is really important.
"Trips to the Shadowfell are always fraught with peril. The last group that was sent in failed to return. We assumed they were ambushed by the Raven Queen's minions, or by the other natives of the shadows. But perhaps it was this beast you talk about."
After getting a description of the last beast, Theo closes his eyes to remember. "The creature sounds like a Balhannoth. Very dangerous and powerful, especially in its lair. It can use illusion in a wide area around it, to make it seem like a safe place... But the books do not describe the ability to create a false humanoid that communicates. Either this is an unusual Balhannoth, or there was something else assisting it.
"In any case, our dealings are over. If you would like healing, there are acolytes in the next room who will provide service, at the standard prices. Otherwise, you are free to leave."

Isk closes his hand around the haft of the glaive and as his fingers pass through it, it puffs away in a wisp of purple smoke, "I think a hot meal, and maybe a string drink, before a night of rest is on order."
Reverie looks at her friends for a moment and then turns her gaze back to Theo, nodding. ”I guess it would be wonderful to have some rest and a hot meal.”

Iskander doesn't see what the big deal is. Well, besides the occasional twitching and sweating. He wants to be away from this place. (No warnings from his glaive, just a personal preference.)
With the party finished at the temple of Oghma, you return to the 4H inn. It is late afternoon, so the supper meal will be finished soon. A pitcher of ale and mugs is brought to the table, with the food to follow soon.
Trimyrai and Froskan are eager for the next 5 days of training (a few hours each morning). Iskander is only able to eat small amounts right now due to a queasy stomach, but is still insisting he will regain his strength after a night's rest. Reverie alternates between her usual cheerful self and being short-tempered. During the meal, Jack occasionally reaches inside his armor to grasp the trinket hidden by his chest.
(OOC: For your character sheets, I've removed a PP to cover the next 5 days stay at the inn, and added 2400 XP to get you to 9000 total... Let me know what you would like next. It could be Trim tracking down his fellow villagers. Or Reverie dealing with the curse on her scimitar. Or maybe you'd like to do something else not quest-related.)

DMing "Gallia Campaign 1".
Looking for a new game, if you need a player private message me.
(So how does the party want to search for these people? There are a lot of ways to do this, in TV and movies and books, so mention the approach you want to take.
Also, Trim and Froskan will be studying their particular scrolls each morning for the next 5 days. The other 3 members of the party can lounge around until lunchtime, or you can suggest how you want to spend your mornings.)

While Jack would enjoy trying to find Theren, he's up to help Trim's villagers. Who knows what's happened to them?
Jack will spend some time writing in his journal (that I now notice I have failed to mention, and that makes me feel bad), practicing his song-stories, and maybe doing stuff with his new Moonblade. (maybe even give it a name! It's sentient, after all. It deserves a name)
(On the topic of How we help the Village, we first need to know what we can about it, and if its in trouble at all. Maps, Charts, Information. that stuff.)

Trimyrai mention the village was razed, and he doesn't know what happened to most of the people. That is why he was surprised to see some familiar names, although he reacted more emotionally to some names more than others. I will fill in some details in a little bit, but for now your characters can remember what Trim said in post 2367 .)

On the first morning, Isk joins the others for breakfast looking much better than he has in recent memory. The first few bites of food and sips of coffee remind him of mornings with his scout unit, causing a forlorn and distant look to pass over his features as those memories bring up the sting of his mentor’s betrayal. Isk washes the thought away with another sip of coffee and makes a lewd joke with Jack about tentacled monsters. His companions are able to see that the tremors and facial ticks that had been bothering him have passed.
When the group splits up to go their separate ways, Isk will visit the town’s library and do a day or two’s research on the Shadowfell, trying to get an idea of what Heegoss may have been interested in. The army was working well, why would he have wanted to creature mindless creatures he could control? That doesn’t seem like the path of light Isk would expect a celestial to follow.
Froskan is also quite happy to study his scroll in the mornings, as well as concentrating power on the vial of fluid to practice.
Long term, he's also highly interested in trying to learn more about the mysterious benefactor the sages mentioned, but with no leads to do so, is more than happy to help the others with their more immediate problems first.
