I am interested im playing as well, I am currently creating a character. He will be a Druid. I am creating the character/back story now and will post soon
As the City guards, clad in traditional gold and sapphire armor of the royal Absoliens, attempted to apprehend and remove this old human from the agitated crowd, you see a sudden burst of flames erupt from his arms, scorching the hands of the royal guards as now terrified screams echo from the crowd closest to the eruption.
either way for the HP. take your time Bproctor, as a druid, it kinda makes sense for you to come in late out of the wilderness. i am closing the recruiting. we have a big party at this point.
Just to start fresh where its easy to read in one place, here is what has happened so far...
DM:
You have spent your entire lives in the great city of Absoli. The massive city and surrounding wilderness occupy a large island, about 200 miles east to west, and 300 miles north to south. The city itself is about 25 miles east to west, and 25 miles north to south, situated on the southeastern coastline. The waters that surround the island extend outward nearly out of view, and curve upward, creating an oceanic sky, completely encompassing the island and all of its inhabitants. According to known history, the island is all there has ever been, and none have every ventured beyond the watery barrier. It is a widely accepted belief, that there is no existence outside of this world, though some far fetched tales have been told. While exploring the market district of the city, the party members witness an elderly man being shunned by the masses for proclaiming he received a message from someone beyond the barrier. As he is escorted away by the city guards, you hear him shouting, "I can show you! I can show you! We are not alone!". What do you do?
Terrance:
A squat, weathered dwarf called Terrance Fimbulvinter (Hill Dwarf/ Tempest Cleric) saunters up to a local observing this scene. "Where do you they take people like him, mad men who claim to have heard from beyond the great walls of our Lord." His deep blue armour and snowy white hair are reminiscent of a cresting wave, and the rumble of his voice brings to mind the thunder that warns of a storm. "These blasphemous accusations need to be properly addressed so as not to sow dissent amongst the populace." He deftly slips the local a coin as the man tells him the location of the guard house, clearly this man knows that it is wise to avoid antagonising any such creature that is as heavily girded for battle as this small but powerful figure carrying a large warhammer with the symbol of his guard embossed on the side.
White Wolf:
The White Wolf, aptly named for the furry cloak he wears, is a young, scrawny man. He bears no apparent weapons, and seems to have all his worldly possessions strapped to his back. The battered gear doesn't amount to much. Beneath the cloak, you can see that his wrists are wrapped with red thread, the symbol of Ilmater. He steps forward, but seems too hesitant to approach the guards directly.
He presses his hands together. "Perhaps the man is simply ill?" he says in a soft voice.
Ducolis:
Just visting the market to buy some fresh fruits, Ducolis sees the commotion in the corner of his eyes. Interested to see what is going he approaches a bystander and asks what is happening. The bystander tells that that the man was saying he recieved a message from beyond the barrier. Now Ducolis was definitly interested. He decided to quietly follow the guards to where they were taking the man. Which was difficult considering he was a somewhat well known gladiator.

if you're still good with me joining add in an air genasi dex based barbarian sailor named Hanzo Kaze. Who's at the market looking to sell his catch of the day as well as a few items he doesn't need in hopes to buy a scimitar.
Hanzo Kaze: 6'3, 170 lbs, light blue skin, bright blue eyes, no hair but there appears to be a clear crystal mohawk atop his head (not entirely uncommon for air genasi to have crystals growing from their scalp but it is strange to see them in a mohawk).
Hanzo thinks back to when his ship was attacked by a group of men claiming to be from a different land, he didn't believe them then but now he's second guessing that.
Hanzo follows the guards with the man hoping to catch more information.
Dont let him fill your head with nonsense little one. There is nothing beyond the barrier. The barrier is a watery abyss. None have even been to the ocean floor and lived to tell about it. Just some crazy old man. Crazy old man with a few magic tricks apparently...
*His attention goes back to his fellow guards, two of which are wincing in pain, doubled over grasping their scorched gauntlets.
(to White Wolf)
There is no sign of the man, only dissipating smoke, confused shoppers of many different races, and Royal guards trying to make sense of what just happened, and inquiring about the injuries of their royal guard brothers.
Briar you see that one of the guards is running as if he knows where the man went off to, but you do not see the old man.
Hanzo as you turn a corner following a guard, you bump into one of the vendor stalls and get spun around. disoriented, you have lost visual on the guards you were chasing.

you are good
do you have a campaign set up in your content that you'd like us to add our characters to?
Rasquin Balsure
I want to find out what they were doing before they started running away from the man. I'll stop one of the Guards.
"What do you think he meant? I mean, could he really get a message from passed the barrier? He could be crazy, but what if he's not?"
<(*_*)> Giffard
The White Wolf is swifter to move now. He ducks forward into the crowd, searching out the injured, or the source of the explosion.
