Hey all! Welcome back from the holidays! I hope that you all enjoyed yourselves and I'd like to wish you all a (slightly) belated New Year! I'd like to start off this year by saying that this campaign has grown larger than I ever thought it would, by which I mean we have 35 players! While I'm pleased that the numbers have been growing, it's been getting a little disorganized around here, and as such, I'll be splitting you all into separate threads based on your current War Party. To go along with this, there'll be actual DnD Beyond campaigns set up, as I've decided to go back on my original decision to not split you all into campaigns on account of the fact that DnD Beyond only allows 3 content shares with a 12 person limit, and if we keep growing at this rate, I'd be out of content shares if I wasn't already. That's why I'm setting a party cap of 12, which allows me to keep all of you organized, but also allows me to keep recruiting past 36 people as I add new War Parties. I'll be PMing everyone with the invite link for their particular campaign, and the links to each individual thread for each of the parties will be down below. I'll also cross-post this to the News Thread, so that newcomers will be able to find them quickly.
Dominique fumbles a bit with his straps and buckles, still trying to get used to his new outfit. It cost him a pretty penny from his own pocket, but if it meant increasing his odds at surviving his first days on the field, then it was damn well worth it. He stared at his captain for a bit. He hadn't heard of her before, but that did not mean for much. If you weren't a high admiral or general or had a high profile major achievement to boost about, then your name wouldn't be mentioned on the military academy. Doesn't mean your incapable or insignificant. Just that you weren't important enough to write a scholars manufest about.
Perhaps one day she would be. And if they mentioned her, then maybe he, Dominique Westward, would be mentioned as well. The young man looked about and sieged up the squad.
There was Irostine, a huntsman by the looks of it as his bow was taller then his blade. Seemed like a nice guy. Pretty much the exact opposite of Jesl.
His first attempt at aproaching her had been met with a rather cold indifference. Maybe he had just used the wrong opener line. Jesl was a strong looking woman. And not just because of the horrendously large two hander and heavy crossbow she carried along. There was something deadly serious about that woman.
And then there was the rabbit dog of the squad. Sarin was her name. When Dominique first saw her, he thought it was literally just a kid send along to take care of camp and stuff but no. Sarin turned out to be a fully grown warriorlady... Gnome. With axes. Lots of axes. And there was this joyful sparkle in her eyes that made the hairs of Dominique neck stand up straight.
As he understood, some more might be joining the squad later on. Perhaps that was why they had been sitting here around camp with no briefing all day. Whatever it was that Captain Seafoam was waiting for, it made Dom restless. He wanted, no, Needed something to do.
"Captain, ma'am... Forgive me for asking but... May I ask what our orders are?"
