After putting his stuff carefully away Rodolfo asks, "Which way are you heading? We are on our way to ... I forgot, Beegred? Might it be a good idea to stick together if we are sharing a common destination?"
After translating, Jimjar explains to you that the deep gnomes are heading back to their home of Blingdenstone. However, the main routes have been too dangerous of late and they were forced to make a detour. They are currently looking for landmarks or gnomish markings to help them reorient and get back on track.
The merchants sense that there will be no further business to be had and say their farewells, warning the party to take great care as the underdark seems to be more chaotic than usual. The party finishes their long rest without any further disturbances and make their way the next 'day'. The caves continue onward, wide enough for two to walk side by side and illuminated by fungi and lichens.
Krizzibond scans the way forward continuously as Rodolfo leads with his directions. At one point, Krizzibond stops the party as he spots a 5 x 10 foot strange greenish 'swampy' liquid pooled on the ceiling across the whole width of the cave...
Assuming that the party has stopped before walking under the swampy liquid, Beedgred turns to Narstin and Rodolfo. "You've got that frosty cantrip, right? And Narstin has the holy baking cantrip. Do you guys have the range to freeze and fry that stuff on the ceiling from here?"

Narstin says, "It's radiant, not actually fire, but still couldn't hurt to try." With a shrug, he raises a hand and fires a Sacred Flame towards the liquid.
You count yourselves lucky Krizzibond was on the ball and spotted the bright green liquid on the ceiling before walking underneath it. Narstin's radiant flames make quick work of whatever the green liquid was and as it burns, whatever held it to the ceiling fails and it falls to the cave floor below. As you walk past, some of you can hear a faint sizzle surrounding what is left of the 'liquid'.
The remainder of the 'day' passes without further incident.
During the travel 'day', many of you notice Sarith walk past open pools of water without checking if it is good to drink. He eats when food is put in his hands and drinks when water is placed at his lips, but some of you wonder if he would starve or die of thirst without someone to provide the sustenance his body still needs.
Tozer and Xilyrah have been seen hovering around Sarith, seemingly taking it upon themselves to keep an eye on the drow's odd behavior. Occasionally Sarith speaks with rare enthusiasm and some of you hear some of the words, "Neverlighth Grove... day of joy...celebration..."
During the long rest, there are no threats but the nightmares that constantly bombard your rest seem more vivid and realistic.
Everyone is restless the next morning and inevitably the topic of the nightmares come up. A few of you describe the dreams, and when Jimjar looks to be gathering his thoughts and remembering his version of the nightmare, he suddenly goes stiff, almost straining with effort, but is otherwise immobile.
Fearing an attack, members of the party search around for dangers while others look at the individual people that make up the party. Someone notices that Sarith is uncharacteristically vocalizing, babbling, making baby noises, not recognizable as any language.
Beegred: "Let's go at a faster pace today. If there is something strange that affected the party (and Jimjar) last night, maybe we can get away from it."

After about 5 minutes or so of looking back and forth between Jimjar and Sarith, Jimjar seems to recover and begins telling his version of his nightmares, as if he didn't even know he'd frozen up. Sarith continues to babble like a baby for a few more minutes before he returns to his silent brooding self.
Camp cleaned up and ready to go, the party look over their food supplies and decide to pick up the pace.
Travel is uneventful, but grueling. Everyone is exhausted and go through their shifts with sleep in their eyes. Eldeth wakes Beegred and Derendil before heading back to her spot to get a little more sleep. Beegred stands, stretches and finds a good vantage point near some fungus stalks.
As he rubs his eyes and slaps his cheeks to stay awake, one of the regular looking fungi behind him begins to move. Four long stalks pull themselves out of the cavern floor and whip towards the sleepy halfling.
After putting his stuff carefully away Rodolfo asks, "Which way are you heading? We are on our way to ... I forgot, Beegred? Might it be a good idea to stick together if we are sharing a common destination?"

(Yes, the party stopped BEFORE walking underneath the green upside down pools of liquid.)

Otherwise, no one spots any dangers.

Narstin nods his agreement.
Rodolfo is in agreement as well. Based on the directions he explains his best understanding of how far it still is to go.
