"My lord," Kyne adds hesitantly, lowering his head with uncharacteristic deference. It clearly doesn't come naturally to the elf to give way to another, and him doing so is on some level an acknowledgement of Lord Thrinderand's power.
"I know that Morlainne poses no real threat to your safety, but, if I may, you should know that she knows you are here, in the Golden Sphynx."
He takes a breath momentarily, before continuing to explain.
"Before we came to you, we didn't know what to expect. Morlainne had tainted our expectations and frankly, we were paranoid and nervous of what might await us here. We informed her of your whereabouts, so that the two of you might remain busy with one another, while we recovered Seb'riel's possessions and escaped. Morlainne didn't seem to believe us either way, but you have shown us nothing but hospitality and good faith since we arrived. I promised you my sword and I wish to honour that with honesty and commit to your side of this conflict without secrets. Please forgive us this indiscretion."
His piece said, Kyne takes a knee, hoping impress his good intentions upon Lord Thrinderand and avoid any unpleasant repercussions for him or any of his friends.
"Please stand." he says to Kyne " No need to apologize. I understand what you did and I am impressed of your boldness. But most of your honesty. It's fortunate that she hasn't believed you though. There are dozens of innocent people here that would had been in danger if she had come here. " he makes a pause looking at them " Please keep this in mind next time you try to push a rush like this."
With a nod Lord Thrinderand guides them out of the room and back to the alley where they came from. He approaches other door wich opens by itself as he comes closer. They go upstairs, by a narrow stair and they reach another door wich opens by itself again. They emerge in the roof of the Golden Sphynx and their host indicates them to form a circle in the center of the roof.
"Please stay put. It will be just a moment."he then gives them his back and start murmuring some magic phrases. Seb'riel opens her eyes wide, for she recognizes them as part of one powerful spell. All of a sudden a line of light burst at the vampire's feet. A bluelish line that splits in to and starts to circle around them, drawing symbols as it goes. The glowing is more and more intense as the lines come closer to each other. When they finally meet at the other side of Thrinderand the light blinds them. They feel their stomachs going up, as if they had start abruptly falling, but it's just the split of a second.
They blink and the light fades.
They are no longer at the Golden Sphynx. They are surrounded by trees and between them, almost 300 feet away they can see a rural house, with some signs of decay, but with a big tower dominating the surrounding landscape.
Seb'riel recognizes it.
" You first " says Lord Thrinderand " I will be close. Please... " he moves his hands to let them pass.
"Whoa! That was something!" Hurosk steadies himself and gives the elf a nod. "One second. Let me see if I can see the lady of the house is home." The ranger concentrates on Morlainne and kneels down. He begins to sniff and the ground, and then to the air - like a hound trying to find the scent of its quarry.
Hurosk, having sensed Morlainne's energies before, has no trouble in finding the scent, a faint trace in the night's air, but he is able to find it. A mixture of lavanda and decay that speaks to him of beauty, danger and death.
Yes, definetly she is in the tower, almost at the top of it.
As they come into sight of the tower, Seb looks a little apprehensive for a brief moment. She turns over a wooden figurine between her fingers and breathes deeply.
"We should move quickly, the longer we wait the longer they have to realise we are here. She is looking and she will come for me. I have made her very angry."
Her tone is almost sad at the end. A break on the flat, matter of fact voice with which she begins the sentence.
The party moves as silent as the breeze over the surface of the lake in their approach to the tower.
The quiet night and the lingering fog from the lake helps them move like shadows.
The looming presence of the tower dominates the adjacent building, wich has signals of decay.
After a fast scout around the compound they see a couple of points of entrance at ground floor.
The adjacent building to the tower, a rectangular plant, seems to be an older stables in the shouthern side, and a kitchen and what it seems a couple more of rooms on the northern part. This side has a second story with some windows. It sounds logical that the stables had access to the other side or even to the tower itself. The stables had an open archway that leads to the interior, and a closed wooden door on the other side of the building.
The tower has a double wood door that grant access to it on its own. Four stone steps leads to the door.
The tower itself seems to have five stories above ground level, and they can see light in a window in the third floor. The rest of the tower seems to be abandoned, but Seb knows that most of the windows are covered from the inside to avoid sunlight to enter.
Mathilda approaches quietly, shivering at the thought of the dangerous creature lurking in the tower. She makes sure to stay close to her new friends. "Maybe we should check out the side building first?", she whispers. After sneaking a little closer, the building appears to be abandoned and she waves her friends over. Without waiting, she makes her way around to the entrance of the stable. She cannot see anything inside as it is too dark, but the eerie silence makes the hairs stand up on the back of her neck. When she peeks her head inside, a waft of foul air and a rotten smell almost make her gag.
Kyne keeps close behind Mathilda, ready to defend her at a moment's notice. As they peek inside the stable, his nostrils also curl at the same foul scent, but his elven eyes pick out more details in the dark.
Two rows of horse boxes flank a central corridor, perpendicular to the entrance. Skylights illuminate the left end, but the right is shrouded in darkness. It is here that the stomach-wrenching stench is emanating from. In the pitch black of the shadows, he spots motion. Twisted, undead beasts roam the horse boxes, as yet unaware that they have company. They seem to have once been canine, but now the meat is literally falling from their bones.
Gently laying a hand on Mathilda's shoulder, Kyne signals to her that they should leave and backs towards the rest of the party. Once they reach Moltaris, he taps his temple to signal to her to read his thoughts.
A plethora of undead nasties in there. Wolves or dogs of some kind.
Moltaris sends a general query to Kyne, allowing him to respond telepathically. Once she picks up his message, she responds, "Burn them down now, or sneak past and take them on the way out?"

Hurosk nods and heads off to the edge of the trees. The ranger kneels down and grabs a handful of dirt, rubbing it between his hands "Let's do this,"he mutters to himself as he stands and pulls out a bottle of the holy oil, coating a handful of his arrows.
"As you ask Moltaris, I will be ready for anything that comes." Lyreis draws his weapon, allowing the blades to spin slowly a few times before letting it fall to his side, and positioning himself accordingly.

Seb'riel stands next to Kyne, her body perfectly still and watchful. She looks up towards the windows of the tower, several floors up, where she knows the spawn she tangled with before are likely to be. Her fingers twitch, ready to hit them when they inevitably look out at the fire. Seeing Hurosk drawing his bow, she gestures towards her eyes, then the windows that she knows lead to their floor.
Mathilda is so tense she doesn't even say a word, instead simply copying Hurosk in oiling her arrows in preparation and taking up position, ready to ambush any enemies that should appear.
Kyne glances about, watching everyone as they prepare themselves. Then, once all are ready, he grasps a handful of tinder from the ground and ignites it. The fire swirls in his palm and he takes a broad stance, bringing his other hand up to circle over the flames as the energy builds into a burning orb the size of a pig's skin ball. Then, with a smooth twisting motion of the hips, he trusts out his arm and hurls the fireball into the barn, where it explodes with an earth-shaking BOOM where he last saw the undead creatures.
The swirling ball of fire enters the stable and for a second it seems that nothing is going to happen.
Then the whole stable erupts in flames as the fireball explodes with a loud boom that echoes in the otherwise silent lake.
Flames and smoke start to pour out of the skylights and from the arch of the entrance. The wooden roof is fast caught by the roaring fire.
Kyne smiles as it seems that no creatture has whisthanded his spell but then, he sees how one, two, three of the undead creatures exits the stable. They run in silence, their skin and the rests of their furs in flames as they run towards him with fierce eyes!
