Kyne takes Seb's hand and concentrates on maintaining the flow of air around him. Gradually, he stabilises and drifts back down towards the deck. By the time he's got the hand of the spell and managed to land, the argument between Seb'riel and Captain Keitos is in full swing. He's about to interject, but waits to see the outcome of his sister's spell before saying anything.
The Captain staggers and he finally says " Well, that sounds fine... I guess... yes... please take your time... just be sure to be on my cabin for dinner... all of you. Please."
Keitos walks back to the bridge but he seems to be asking himself why he has ended agreeing with the weird passengers.
The party relaxes once the argument is over but Moltaris sees that many of the sailors look worried to their captain and, while keeping to their jobs, they exchange worried looks among them.
Hurosk nods but his face saddens with the question from Mathilda. "I do. A sister."He kicks an unseen piece of something on the deck of the ship and lets out a heavy breath. "I haven't seen her in a while though." He looks back to the west, though his gaze appears to extend past the little town they just left.
With the show pretty much over he starts to make his way towards the steps to below deck. "Sounds like we should get ready for dinner."
The hours (ehem ;) ) passed fast and finally the evening find the party sitting at the captain's table at his quarters while the cooker of the ship, the half-orc Kruosk, is serving them the dinner.
Ryn is there, sitting at the right side of the captain, but she only speaks in whispers with the captain or with Lyreis if addresed. The elf notices that the Captain has made her laugh a couple of times, but she seems to have her mind in other place. Captain Keitos presides the table on one of its sides and his hat is hanging from the chair he is sitting on, his long black hair almost covered by a red bandana.
Seb'riel is surprised by the variety of the food displayed before them, not only for the ingredients, but because many of the dishes come from different parts of Khorvaire.
There are fired shrimps from Valenar, Spiced pigeons from Breland, the wine is certanly from the Eldeen Reaches and the onion soup with grilled cheese on top that the half-orc is currently serving must come form Karrnath for the contundent, simple but effective culinary speaking.
" So tell me my friends - says the Captain who hasn't mentioned the later episode yet as if it has never happened " Why do you want to go to Passage?"
"Oh, it's the first stop on a long journey," Kyne replies with a congenial smile, sipping at his wine. "Seb'riel has needs that a town like Delethorn simply can't cater to, so we're headed to Passage, and after that maybe onwards to Fairhaven or Flamekeep. Eventually, I'd like to take my sister to see the ocean, if I can."
As the conversation ebbs and flows Lyreis looks around, Ryn seems more interested in keeping the Captain entertained so he gives her space, knowing that there will be plenty of time in the voyage to get to the things he is interested in finding out from her. Kyne is speaking to the Captain and the group seem drawn to their conversation over all others, Lyreis follows but finding himself looking about the room. As the ocean is mentioned he happens to be looking directly at Ryn and sees that although she plays it down she starts at the mention of it. She quickly composes herself but the observant elf sees the moment and stores the information away.
Before he can broach the subject he sees something else, the look the cook is giving the group is one of feigned indifference but he is clearly paying attention to every word and carefully filing it all away. The sharp eyes of Lyreis miss little and he can tell that the man is extremely good at not being noticed whilst he pays too much attention to their business.
Leaning over to Kyne and Hurosk and switching to elven he jovially, says "These shrimps are very nearly as good as you'd get back home, the chef is watching us too closely, be on your guard." He then raises his hand in apology "My manners, I apologise, I was enjoying these shrimp so much I forgot I was away from Valenar and my elven tongue returned, my compliments to you sir." he calls over to the cook.

"I've never had the pleasure," Kyne explains to the captain, "but I've heard it's quite the spectacle. Do you know how long it takes to reach Fairhaven?"
While the cook is away collecting the next course, Moltaris draws out her reliquary and murmurs a soft chant in Quori.
"Captain, I apologize -- I know magic use concerns you deeply, otherwise you would have your own mage under contract to defend your ship -- but someone in your kitchens has poisoned the fish."

The captain turns his expression from surprised, to amazed to amused.
" Hahahaha! I see that the tendency to casts spells at inapropiate moments is a thing among you lot. Fortunate for all of us no harm done this time. almost... Kruosk!! " he calls " Bring your main course you clumsy son of a demon!! They had discovered your surprise!!"
The cooker enters the cabin a few moments later, mumbling and with a surly expression on his face. The big plate he is carrying with his both hands has a large fish on it, almost spherical in shape, but with the lower half cutted so it can keep stable on top of the plate. The half-orc puts it at the center of the table and they all can smell it. If it tastes as it smells, that is a plate worth of a kings table.
"So. who was it?" asks Kruosk.
The captain, clearly amused, points to Moltaris.
Then the half-orc grabs a knive and a fork, its head similar of a trident, specially designated to manipulate big pieces of food, and, carefully, almost ceremonially, retires the top part of the fish, body, the tail, head and lateral fins follow, revealing the already clean and cooked meat inside. While he does that, he starts to talk.
"This is a Tetrantontidix. A rare fish found only near the coast of Xendric, in the Thunder Sea. It's extremely venomous. No predator dares to eat them for it's a sure death. But"he adds rasiing the trident like fork " there is a way to cook them, and there is only one part of the fish that can be eaten without fear of death. The secret is well keeped by the halflings of House Ghallanda in Xen'dric, but you are a bunch of lucky bastards, no offense Mylady" he adds fast looking at Ryn " and I know how to cook it too. I've been keeping this fine specimen for more than three months in a special box, only to cook it on a special ocasion. The captain told me this was the night. I've spent more than four hours cooking it. "he takes a portion of it and serves Moltaris " And you are going to have the honor to take the first taste of it, my honorable guest..."
Hurosk has mostly been quietly enjoying each course that the cook continues to roll out as the rest of his group discuss their travel itinerary. At Lyreis's comment he eyes the cook, shrugs and returns to his meal swallowing a shrimp almost whole after discarding the shell. He tenses as Molly declares the food may be poisoned. He pauses to check with his stomach to see if he can detect any foul play. He muses to himself: Well, at least it was tasty if there was poison...
Hearing the captain unveil the surprise for dinner he excitedly watches the chef deconstruct the fish to present it for dinner and waits to see if Molly is up to the challenge.
Seb sits quietly, picking at small bits of dinner. She was not too hungry, eager to get back to her work. She was not worried for poison though, she had not seen this moment but she had seen past it. This was not to be her ending. The challenge with the fish seemingly amused her though and she watches Moltaris keenly.
Molly cocks her head to the left, eyeing the cook without expression. After a long, evaluating moment, she stabs the portion served to her by Kruosk and bites into it with relish.
"Please accept my apology. I am honored by your gift."

The cooker seems pleased by Moltaris apology, but even more so with her fave of absolute delight when she tastes the fish. He grunts with half a smile that shows one of his tooths.
He then serves the others and adds.

He then takes the poisonous rests of the fish with him and leave them to enojy the dinner.
The fish is absolutely delightful and it melts in one mouth, barely had to chew it.

You must understand that I can only keep my promise if you follow my instructions. "
Seb'riel continues to chew gently through some food she has taken. Eating was not one of her keen interests at the best of times, but new interests were and to pass up trying something so rare would be unforgivable. Flavourful food hitting her stomach shrunk and withered by months of semi starvation in captivity was a little much though and she manages very little. She gazes absently past the jibe of the captain, her mind clearly lost elsewhere again after its momentary capture by Molly's distraction by the poison.
