" I did acknowledge you as spellcasters and I must admit that I have some hopes that you can lift the curse yes. " he drinks a little bit of wine and says " I am not hiding nothing vital." despite his words it seems that he has finally decided that he must share more information.
" We rescued her from the wreckage of a sunken ship, and agreed to bring her safe and sound to a port. And we did, it was just... our destination wasn't of her liking and she was thinking on Sharn instead of Stormreach I think. You must understand, we have good heart, so we agreed to carry her, but we must make a living too, so we couldn't deviate of our route to make it all of her liking. And she was a very... difficult travel companion I must say. She got upset and cursed my beloved ship..."
"Hmm, this will be difficult." The grin on her face suggests that she is not put off by the fact. "Moltaris, we could try to determine the conditions of the curse in the same way we can determine the nature of a magical item. It isn't what the spell is made for and I will have to make some modifications as we perform the ritual. It may work, it may not. But there is only one way to find out."
After finishing the drinks and the last remmants of the dinner, both spellcasters, Moltaris and Seb'riel sit on the captain's cabin floor. They both had drawn a circle with intricate and weird symbols on it.
The begin murmuring and concentrating as they weave the magic that will allow them to, first, identify the curse that has befallen to the ship, and second, try to lift it.
"Is this always so much exciting with you?" asks Sallan to Kyne seeing the two woman practicing magic. Some traces of a purpish energy has started to show while they both moves their hands in the air.
Ryn, the noble woman is still there too, near to Phadeout, curious about what is going to happen, but she has said little. When the two spellcasters end their shared ritual a semi-sphere of purple light start to appear at the top of their extended to the air hands, covering them until the others can't see them anymore.
Both Seb'riel and Moltaris share a vision. Seb'riel is more used to them and cannot help, just a second before it kicks in, if Molly would feel the same about it.
They found themselves flying above the waves, descending, until they hit the water and start to dive, deeper and deeper. They think that the vision is trying to focus on something in the deep of the ocean but then they realize that they are seeing things trough the eyes of a creature. The creature looks down and they can see a gorgeus woman body until their hips. From there they have a long, powerful, beautiful tail that propels them across the sea. Seb'riel notices that they also has wings, under their extended arms a pair of beautiful wings helps them swimimng and flying.
They go towards a coral reef, and in the center, they can see an alien tower made of red coral. Around it, they see blood, the blood of the dead and the wounded. The tower was under attack.
The next thing they see is the rain and hear the screams and sound of battle above the raging see and the furious rain. Around them there are men fighting strange marine creatures, humanoids that impale the humans with their tridents. Somehow Seb'riel feels that she has been here before. The blood flowns on the deck of the ship, soaking the wood with the salt water.
Then they are at a dock, their heart broken, their trust destroyed forever. Their hands turn into horrid claws. Their beautiful wings turn into something black, dark. The pain in her soul transform their flesh and their soul. The hate grows in their chest and they hear themselves pronuncing words ina language they don't know, turning that hate into reality. It pours out of their heart like raging fire. They scream.
The others can hear them both screaming, the purple dome shattered. They are still in the center of the circle, both have their heads looking upwards, their eyes two purple lights.
They can feel that hate, that desire for vengance, filling the ship around them, feeding on the blood spilled over it, devouring its very essence and those that sail with it.But they remember. They remember the purity and joy that filled their souls when the vision started, before they discover the red coral tower under attack. In that moments, their heart was full of happiness and innocence. That kind of power could revert the curse, and return back the ship and the crew to the point were it was before that horrible feeling of betrayal took hold on their souls.
They both blink and open their eyes.
The captain looks around and says.
"Well... it was worth a try I guess. I appreciate it." he says sincerously.
Seb'riel starts to stand, recovering from the experience.
Moltaris, however, stays kneeled on the floor. She has recognized the creature the vision has showed them. A Melusina. One of the creatures she must hunt.
Moltaris slumps back to lay on the floor, gazing up at the ceiling of the captain's cabin. Sweat and seawater soak her clothes and drip onto the wood beneath her.
"Melusina," she groans. "I did not expect to see that. To BE that." Reaching up, towards the closest companion, she pulls herself to her feet and totters there for a moment. Then she sees Seb'riel, gazing at her with her unblinking, nonplussed expression, and a sulky smirk appears on Molly's face.
"So what did it mean, Mistress of Visions?" she asks with a wink.

"Not a lot, and everything. Visions are often as we make of them. When the time has passed you always understand though." She sighs. "Such is our burden."
She laughs, shrill and brief, though the joke is perhaps lost on anyone else.
"This is the fun though, a mystery to crack. Was it an explanation of the past, or a warning of the future? The emotion though, that was key. Anger and hate, to be battled with childhood innocence. If we are to battle this curse we must feel free and happy as we cast the spell."
"What is there to be happy about? Free, I can handle, but happy is not my strong suit."

Hurosk and Lyreis notices that at the mention of that creature, Ryn, the quiet noble woman who has been there just smiling most of the time, turns pale. She holds into the table and gasps.
She looks at the Captain and says " What... what have you done?"
Lyreis can see that the wood at the table is starting to crack under the pressure of her fingers.
The captain turns to her, surprised.
"I... nothing.. nothing... why? what... "
"There's only one way to create such a monster... to break a syrens heart... what have you seen? " she asks to Seb'riel and Moltaris.
Hurosk sips on his after-dinner ale and watches as the two ladies perform their ritual. He almost drops his drink when the dome shatters and the two appear screaming, with eyes glowing purple. He quickly goes to their side to help them up. "You two okay?" He relaxes seeing them apparently in good spirits. When the noblewoman speaks up, the orc glances between the two and to Ryn. "What's a methuselah?"
"Always," Kyne quips back at Shallan with a wink as they settle back to watch Moltaris and Seb'riel's ritual. He's seen Seb experience many visions, but this one seems that much more real. Perhaps because Molly is also involved.
"Break a siren's heart?" The elf echoes in mock admiration. "Oh captain, my captain! I didn't know you had it in you."
Shallan giggles and Kyne digs his fingers playfully into her side.
Shrugging at Moltaris' question, the wizard answers it as she would any other. "A creature I have never encountered. That is always something to bring joy and excitement to me." Seb does indeed appear a little excited, wringing her finger, a glint on her eye. "They seem pretty happy too." She nods her head towards her brother and his companion. "Or we could try getting everyone drunk."
"They are the wreckage left behind when all the hope and joy is crushed out of a royal mermaid's soul. Fallen into darkness, they hunt all sentient life, but especially prey on other merfolk, for above all else they hate what they were."

"I... I see..." says the woman, trying to calm down.
Before anyone can talk anymore the raspy voice of the lookout came from above the deck.
"SAIL!!! SAIL!!!"
With a muttered "If you'll excuse me" the captain takes his hat and goes to the upper deck.
Thanks to the full, purple, moon, that appear between patches of clouds, they all can see that maybe half a mile away there is another ship. Even without spyglasses it's evident that the sails are broken, torn by a storm in the past. Still the ship keeps sailing thanks to them and the current. The ship is black, at least the wood seems black in the night. But the remmants of the sails are of a pale white, that reflected the light of the mooon giving it a phantasmagorical appearance.
Kyne hurries up the stairs after the captain, dragging Shallan along with him. A gleeful expression is plastered across his face. Finally a little excitement.
Grasping at the rail and leaning out over the edge of the ship, the elf peers into the distance towards the approaching vessel.
"...and I thought after Delethorn we were done with the undead," he quips quietly to his companions.
"That could be the fate of this ship, if the curse is not lifted. Not pretty..."
