OOC Once Gruxx and Rock have the sarcophagus in place, Glynquinal will throw hone end of his rope across the span to them, so they can tie it together with another length of rope. Passing the rope around the back of the sarcophagus will create a good anchor on that side Throwing the loose end of the second rope across to him it should create something to hang on to for anyone trying to cross the span against the wall and let the party retrieve the ropes when everyone has gone across.
Glynquinal calls over to Ian, "Glad to have you give it a try first since you are pretty small. Maybe Herr Doktor can come over next to help hold this end of the rope."
OOC: Two ropes tied together with the loose ends passed across the broken floor and anchored around the sarcophagus at the other end. Glynquinal is on one side and ready to hold the ropes for Ian to cross. Assuming Ian can do that successfully then the good Herr Doktor, the three former prisoners, and then the , ahem, heavyweight party members. That is the plan anyway, assuming no critical failures along the way.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Rolling for Herr Doktor: 23
Ian crosses first, testing the makeshift bridge, which seems to do the trick. The party then sends the three prisoners across. Herr Doktor follows, gliding across easily. Glynquinal and Ian give each other an uneasy look at Gruxx and Rock prepare to cross. Gruxx grabs hold of the ropes and begins stepping across, but the lid shifts under his weight, and the ropes are not enough to keep him from tumbling downward into the pit. He takes 5 bludgeoning damage, landing with an audible exhalation. The barbarian easily crawls out to join the others, then Rock makes his way across.
Glynquinal retrieves the ropes, and after untying the two, coils up his rope, and hands the other back.
Stowing the rope in his pack, he turns to the rest of the group, "We need to either go back the long way we came in or we need to carefully scout ahead. I'd rather not walk into a trap with three people that would be at great risk if it comes to a fight. Which way do we go now?"
Ian to the Group: We know what lies behind us (going past the water area and back to the crevasse) and could safely find our way out I believe. But we dont know what lies beyond (if we enter the door at AA14). I am very curious what is ahead of us, but with you three (indicating the prisoners) it may be wiser to retrace our steps, deliver them safely back to the village, then return here to finish the job. Gruxx, Rock, HDP, what say you?
OOC: They are free to roam, and still not too sure about remaining in the area.
Glynquinal to Ian, "I was thinking of the same thing, but perhaps there is an easier way."
Glyquinal standing at U10 speaks some words briefly, and encased in a light silvery mist vanishes, only to reappear on the other side at X10.
Taking the 40' hempen rope out of his pack, Glynquinal throws it across the opening to Ian.
TO Gruxx, "Gruxx, how hard would it be to put one of those stone sarcophagus in here to run the ropes around so everyone could cross more safely?"
OOC: Misty step was used, but there is something going on with the site right now. It won't let me record the use of the spell.
OK
Gruxx shrug
"Let's find out. Shouldn't be too bad."
Gruxx will walk over and place both hands on the closest lid. He will then pull and try to drag to lid to the designated area.

Rock will help Grux

Ian says Ill test it out and make sure its safe for the rest of you.
OOC, what roll do i make here DDP?

What, exactly, has been done?

"I am good either, I can go on or back to town, if we press on that's fine with me, we will just have to cover the civilians"
"Better to take a few extra steps and still be breathing than take a shortcut and be cut down." says Gruxx.
Gruxx looks around at everyone.
"I've about had it with this place but I hate to leave without the wizard." says Gruxx.
Gruxx's eyes set on the civilian family.
"Sometimes it might be better to save a life than take one."
