Glynquinal adds to the conversation, "I'd rather see if we can gather some more information on where the Wizard is as well as if anything new has turned up on Gundren. We can't do that here, or if we get dead because we walked in blindly to a trap."
OOC: Thanks for rolling for me, DDP. I'm swamped at work again this week, but I'm hoping things clear up by the weekend so I can actively participate again.
The Herr Doktor Professor agrees with the party's decision to return to town.
Gruxx will be in the middle of the group trying to make himself as big as possible. Not to intimidate but to try to protect the civilians from any booby traps or surprise arrows with his body.
The party backtracks, taking great care to return the captives to town in one piece.
OOC: When you get back to the crevasse room, do you bypass the broken south bridge and go across the north bridge? Or do you climb down into the crevasse and back up the other side?
OOC: Ian has the lead at that point so I would say that would be his call.
Once back in to town proper, Glynquinal will return to his room at the tavern, and immediately request a hot bath be set up for him, (After checking the chest in his room to make sure it has not been tampered with).
Ian says to the party after they get back into town (before everyone goes their separate ways): Fellas, we need to decide what happens next. I know we all want to rest, but if we rest now, the element of surprise is lost. The redbrands will see the work we have done - you know the dead bodies and all.... - and will either shore up their defenses or come looking for the responsible party. Maybe even try to murder us in our sleep...I know you all want to rest, but I implore you, return with me to the hideout, and lets make use of our element of surprise before they can regain their footing. Maybe we can find a potion or brew to help in your healing, but I really think we need to go back now.
What do you all think? Shall we return, and chop the head off the snake?
Glynquinal reminds Ian, "In order to cut off the snakes head, it has to be found. We have no information on exactly where that Wizard is. Resting might take away the element of surprise if we even have now. How do we know for sure it hasn't already been lost? Time to gather information, and rest and regroup."
The group follows Ian northward, following the edge of the crevasse to the northern (unbroken) bridge. As they walk, Mirna encourages Nars to hurry along and not lag behind. The party members in the back see the boy is distracted looking down into the crevasse. After Ian finds the bridge to be safe, the others cross and begin moving south. Not very far, Mirna asks, "What, Nars?" in an almost impatient tone. Those behind the three see the boy pointing into the crevasse. His mother follows his gesture and then gasps, her hand flying to cover her mouth. Nilsa looks as well and screams, "Daddy!" Nars buries his face in Mirna's arm. Not looking at the others, but speaking to them, Mirna says emotionally, "That's ... that's Thel. My husband. I think that's his body."
Ian to the group We should retrieve the body, so that the family may grieve in their own time. I am not strong enough to go and get him. Gruxx or Rock, would either of you mind going down to get the body?
Ian ties a rope around the nearest rock formation in a way that the group can help lower and raise someone down into the crevasse.
Ian to group: Lets keep moving. its not safe here. You may grieve later, but for now, your safety is our highest priority. Rock, can you carry the body?
Ian proceeds back the way they came, back to town.

"So back to town maybe rest and come back."
Ian to all Agreed. Lets go.
Ian will take the lead on the way back the way they came, and he is looking for any traps they may have missed.
The prisoners should probably be in the middle of the group, for protection.
Looking for traps 6 (+3 for perception, +4 for investigation. not sure which you want to use here...)
Glynquinal will take up a position near the rear of the party as they head out just behind the three they rescued to keep an eye on them.
Rock wil go with Ian and Grux can take mid as he may not scare the civilians as Rock would

Ian asks the party to wait as he crosses the bridge. If he crosses safely, he will motion them to come across.
When returning to town Graxx would like to make his way to the Inn and pass out for a much much needed long rest.

Rock will get the body
Gruxx shakes his head.
"I'm so sorry. No one should have to experience or see this." says Gruxx as he looks at the children.
Working together, the group is able to bring Thel's body up out of the crevasse.
Glynquinal quietly says an Elven prayer for the deceased man so only he can hear it bowing his head out of respect.
Ian to group: Lets keep moving. its not safe here. You may grieve later, but for now, your safety is our highest priority. Rock, can you carry the body?
