Disappointed at not finding anything else of note, but pleased they have done a good service, Hildigrim exits the dungeon and breathes in the fresh air and smiles. At the suggestion of a feast, the halfling's stomach grumbles. "That would be wonderful." He shakes hands with all three women, conveying his sheer delight at having met and worked with each of them and voicing his hope that they will at least partake in the aforementioned feast before they all have to go their separate ways.
During the feast (that I'm assuming does in fact happen), Hildigrim will try to get Mavis to talk about Candledeep and if she has any ideas where he might find a volume suitably valuable to help him gain entry.
Criella offers up one of her remaining sheep for the feast, saying something about making a change in her life. Vanja produces some herbs from back home, a rustic Romany sort of mix. There's still no strong drink (unless Pascal brought some). You can definitely feast.
There is no additional magic to be found (Carrion's book is not magical). The potions, after some time and experimentation, appear to be two healing, one hill giant strength, and one growth. Mavis willingly turns over the spell scrolls (one Invisibility, one True Strike) in case Pascal wants them.
The gems, Hildigrim thinks, are likely in the range of 50 gp, each.
In conversation with Mavis, she thinks there might be more to Hildi's book than it lets on, but she's not sure Candlekeep would think so. She suggests Hildi study it some more, perhaps try to delve some of its secrets. Adventure more she suggests!

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. Here's my D&D stuff. I love it so.
OOC > The adventure is essentially over, at this point. Criella's cottage has been exorcised of its demons, and Beaumont has been saved. Feel free to continue some role-playing if you like, let's talk on the private channel about next steps.
Be sure to distribute the potions, scrolls, gems, and coins (such as they were).
Each of Drusk, Hildigirm, Jorin, and Pascal receive an additional 130 xp for the final encounter. According to my calculations, that makes:
Drusk: 448 xp total Hildigrim: 448 xp Jorin: 448 xp Pascal: 380 xp (2nd level!)

each of the four regulars each gets a 50 GP gem (gems weigh less than the same amount of gold)
two gems are cashed right away, so the four regulars also get another 25 GP in coins
last gem is used for the NPCs, but mostly for a big house-warming party open to everyone in the village, so Criella gets to be friends with her neighbors

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Jorin is delighted by everyone's interest in the feast. He explains the Bodt tradition of feasting after fighting, on holidays, after a good harvest, basically anything time a difficult task is completed, his tribe feasts. He sings a song, high spirited and loud.

Drink, for the wind blows cold and Drink for The Wolf runs free. Drink to the ships with sails like wings and Drink to the storm-tossed seas.
Drink to the lasting nights and those who warm our beds. Drink to the mead that warms our hearts and the cold that clears our head.
Drink to the truth of steel and blood that falls like rain. Drink to the favored of Tempus and to our kinsmen, slain.
Drink to the Glory-field where a man embraces death, and thank the gods that we live at all with our joyous dying breath!
During the evening he offers to look over everyone's weapons, cleaning and oiling them, and truing up their edges.
OoC - Why don't we give the healing pots to Hildi and Pascal, since they can't heal themselves in any way. I think Drusk and Jorin could both benefit from the other two potions, but if Drusk doesn't want either, then Jorin will happily take both, enamored by the idea of by stronger and also giant.

If one of the seven gems is a diamond, then we know who gets it.
Hildigrim: Don't forget to add the 25 GP in coins to what you mentioned. (Cashed two of the gems, so they could be split evenly.)

No worries. The gems are not to be sacrificed to Lliira, but spent on booze and hors d'oeuvre. (Drusk takes the citrine.)

Thank you all for playing, and to anyone who was following along. The adventures will continue shortly, but in a new game thread!
This adventure, which took my IRL group one and a half sessions, lasted from November 5, 2018 to the end of January, 2019 in a PbP format. So about three months.
Again, thanks to Travis Legge for writing The Cottage on the Long Road, and making it available at the DM's Guild. He's just asking $3.00 for the pdf version, and that's a steal. I recommend you all go buy it, and spend more than $3!
