I smile as we pass through the crowds. As we travel i take in what the fashion is here for daily wear. I'm excited about getting outfits made for us to approach noble houses. My main focus is on this as we move along. Caesar towers above the people around us. They part to give him room. He scowls distrustfully at all these people gathered in one location. " It's ok Caesar. Just make sure noone tries to hurt us. "
Stepping off the ship, leading my horse, I'll say, "Right, let's find the Inn first, get settled in. We'll ask the innkeeper for some additional context. After that, I think we can split up and start playing tourist. Be careful, even the best cities have their share of pickpockets and worse."
I proceed with the others as we make a beeline for the Inn. I keep an eye out for any pertinent details. Most especially I'm watching for any behavioral quirks or customs we might be able to observe on the fly.
People look at your party with some curiosity especially Caesar but they see the golden armor on Rachel and some even bow to her. You hear more than once as people bow Saying "Blessing towards us lady Druid" You can easily see others stopping and then turning away to head elsewhere. As far as fashions you see once you turn off the warfs and onto market street you can see plain garb all the way up to some fancy dresses and sharp well dressed men. Those of the latter styles you see in a cart or carriage with people doing their running for them. It takes you about twenty minutes of weaving through the people, wagons and beasts of burdens before you see a large four story building with a sign with what looks like water drops on it. The buildings through out the trip range from one story building up to four stories. Further ahead you can see a large open area where no buildings are and you can hear the voices of many people. Across the clearing you can see a rather large six story building built or stone and wood. It is very large at least 100 feet to the side you can see.
Travis, steps off of the boat and is relieved to be on dry land again. He, takes in all the sights and sounds of the city. But, he keeps an eye out for any apothecary or Alchemist type shops. As, he continues his walk towards the 'Dew drop Inn.'
After, spotting some tailor shops along the way. He, reconsiders his initial statement of leaving the idea of being a diplomat or dignitary to only a few.
"Count, me in Rachel if you wouldn't mind helping me find some more appropriate clothing. To, meet up with these dignitaries," Travis, said to her.
" I can be a tourist. This is my kind of adventure. I have a very high skill at visiting new areas and blowing money. " I grin at Jason.
After seeing numerous people bowing to me i blush. " This is kind of awkward. If druids are revered here then i might be better off going like this. I really want to wear a new outfit....whatever is best for our mission though. "
I nod at Travis. " Of course i will help you with getting the appropriate clothing to wear. I'm not sure who all is going. I hope some are staying back so Caesar has company. " I look back and laugh. " You can't do that Caesar. " I see Caesar helping himself to a large handful of bananas from a vendor. I rush to the vendor. " Im so sorry. " Reaching into my pouch i pull out a few coppers and give them to the man.
"They certainly seem to mostly respond very positively to your Druidness. Definitely a point in our favour for access to court. Perhaps all we need to do is emphasize your 'career' a bit more flamboyantly or appropriately as the case may be. " I say, looking around for other obvious Druids. "We may also need to hire a retinue to carry off the travelling dignitary bit, but I'd be not so on board for having people carry me around. I think similar outfits to the palanquin-carried gang, with a touch of style from Earth to emphasize our foreignness. Shall we check in?" I add, as I hitch my horse to the rail and open the door to the referred inn. "That relatively large structure is probably one of our first stops after we get settled. I hope the owner is a font of information for us - we're going to need it."

I step off the ship leading my horse and walk towards the Inn following the others as I can. I look around as I go, keeping in mond where the verious shops are; including a tailor and the blacksmith. Hearing all the various types of languages, I try and catch as much as I can of what is being said in Common or Elvish. I am surprised that it seems Rachel receiving what might be considered royality. If that is the case , it may benefit us getting to highest Noble house. I am looking forward to being able to get some clothes more fitted for visiting nobles. My armor seems out of place for such things. I begin thinking of the best color or style that will suit the situation but not make me look too out of place.
Once at the "Dew Drop Inn" , I will talk with the owner and see if there is a special rate for others in the same business and tell him that I am part owner of the "Emerald Eye Inn" that is to the south. I will let the others know if they are not there when I speak with the owner. I will ask if all the rooms could be somewhat together if possible. Once all is settled; iIwill pull the needed coins from the pouch within my saddlebag.
You all manage to make it to the Inn with little to no real issues. As you enter the inn it is nicely appointed and a female half elf is behind the counter. When she you she puts down the book she was reading and asks if she can help you. On the way to the inn you passed a tailor shop that had some rather nice rich looking dresses and suits. The ladies could tell that the dresses would show off lots of cleavage. You also passed a couple more inns and a general goods store along with jewelers and candlemakers.
I leave Patience outside. I'm assuming that if they don't have a post for it, there's at least something I can wrap her reigns around. I grab my backpack and enter with the others. I've got my mithril breastplate on, it's shininess is muted by the cloak and tabard I wear but the symbol of the platinum dragon's head painted on my shield is very prominent. As I approach It's pure instinct to try and see what she's reading as I lean slightly on the counter while the others are introducing themselves.
I smile at the innkeep, "Yes, to begin with, we've got a large group to house here for a while. Probably about a week. There are nine of us, eight horses, and one giant ape who I assume would be okay with a stall in the stable? Rachel, Ceasar would be fine with that right? In any case, most of us can double up, so I believe that's five rooms assuming they're large enough for two to be comfortable."
"Secondly, if you don't mind, we could use some information about Fetha. We're new to this place, and trying to get our bearings."
I studied the clothing in the tailor's shop curiously. " Those are some beautiful clothes...." I wonder again about wearing a dress or my golden armor. As we stand waiting at the counter my eyes widen at a sudden thought. The new world had always felt so small and we were in contact with just a small amount of people. Now we were finally learning a little about the larger picture. We had so much to learn though. Maybe we could find a map here...
I am woken from my reverie by Jason's question. " Caesar will stay there. Not happily but he will. I wish we had the space in a room for him. "
Travis, also smiles at the Innkeep. "Thank, you for the accommodation," He say's, then goes and checks into one of the rooms. Afterwards joined Rachel looking at the tailor shops nearby.
The book she is reading is entitled "The Sailor Who Stayed" She has rooms that you all can stay at and She gives a room big enough to Rachel, free of charge, that Caesar can stay in with her. The rest of you will pay one gold per night. This includes dinner and a stall out back for the horses. She shows you up to the third floor after dropping Rachel off on the back room of the second floor. All doors have locks with the key in the lock on the inside. Each room sleeps one comfortably or two a bit tight.
Once settled in my room (with whomever wants to join), I leave some of my lesser gear in my backpack, under the bed and activate my alarm icon to protect the room from any intruders that are not our group, with the mental alarm option set. Wanting to make a an impression, I keep my great sword strapped to my back and wear my armour, but change it up a bit with a bear on a white mountain emblazon on my chest and buckler, as well as hiding my money, potion and items pouches in the masking of the illusion. Meeting up with the rest of the gang, I ask "Okay, let's see about our next steps. the Captain recommended the officer of the guard as a contact, but tailoring seems like it should be our first stop. Should we hit that store we saw on the way?"
OOC - Leaving the two ioun stones, all the alchemy, The Cure potions, the Aid potion, the scroll, the bow and sundry, the magecraft icon and the Horn of fog. Everything else will be on my person. I'm not sure how much cash we each carry, but I would assume I carry 100gp in change.

I grin at Caesar. " This is our kind of place. They are glad to see us Look at this big room we got for free. " I sprawl out across the bed for a few minutes. Caesar grunts and claps his hands. I will spend the next little while freshening up. Liking the reaction thus far i exit my room once again in my golden dragonhide armor and my matching shield on my back. My trusty club hangs at my side.
Seeing the others out and about i will join them. " The tailor sounds the perfect place to start. " I will go with Caesar and with anyone else that wishes to go. Upon arrival there i will look over any outfits visible for a bit and then explain to the tailor our clothing needs.
Once all the introductions are made, I think to myself that I may have to offer a room for the owner at my place as a good gesture for the treatment we are receiving. I settle into my room, making sure I have my pouch of coins in a safe place on my person and head back down and to the tailor shop with the others. Looking at the fine fabrics or already made outfits in the shop.
Heading out to the tailor shop you walk in and are greeted by a human female. She says, "Welcome to Rita's Tailor shop. We specialize in formal wear and the latest fashions but can do other work if you are interested." Upon seeing Rachel she adds, "Welcome lady Druidess", As she gives a quick curtsy, "we are most grateful for your presence in this shop. What may I do to make this visit refreshing for you? I do have some tea on the back kettle if that is what you wish to have."
"Go ahead Rachel, I'll look into some of the other things we need to learn from this place. Just let me know when I need to come in for a fitting."
I head out and ask around for a cartographer or anyone else likely to have detailed maps of the world.
Assuming I can find one, I'll explain the situation and ask them to view general maps of the world, as well as more detailed ones for the regions around Lord Douglas' stronghold, Merkel's lands, and anything else of special interest. I'll ask what it would take to obtain copies of the maps in question, or if nothing else, I'll ask for enough time with them to make sketches and notes of my own.
Following our erstwhile Druid into the shop, I let her take the primary lead for the discussions, looking at the various samples and fabrics on display. When and if needed I'll mention our requirements for something suitable for foreign dignitaries, with adjustments to perhaps incorporate some of our own world's fashions as dramatic effect. "We want some attention, just not too much." Also, if needed, I'll happily play the dressmaker's dummy, using my magics to change my outfit as needed to provide visual examples and evolution of our requests.
