Bastion looks about as people finish up their meals. "That was certainly interesting. You all look considerably refreshed. Enough to resume the task at hand? I doubt they would expect to see us charging back in there so soon."
OOC Sorry for the late reply, being the festive season, and being busy. Rivoril, would have been hesitant to eat at first. But having watched the others, with no ill effects would have likewise eaten the food.
Rivoril hit points=22 (normal), assuming that he has his full compliment of 1st level Beguiler spells back. Namely 5x0 level, 3x1st level, being fully rested.
IC Rivoril, wakes up feeling refreshed, after tentatively eaten a nice roast lamb dinner the night before.
"Well, strangely I also feel refreshed Bastion, I'm assuming if everyone else is feeling the same, then we are all to forge on ahead,"?
Licking the last remnants of the meal from his fingers, and still a bit melancholy, he says to Bastion "I'm certainly ready. What foes are expected ahead? What I have, I put to your aid."

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
As everyone finishes their meals you gather together at the mouth of the cave. Do you wish to go back in or head back? You can still try to take a rest.
Bastion answers Kixarn, "The last foes we encountered before withdrawing and then having to deal with those trolls were a band of orcs. They wanted us to surrender so we could go talk to their boss. Oddly enough we refused. At this point, I don't know if I wish to conjecture too much on what we'll find. Monstrous races and undead."
"In any case, if we're ready for this, let us get moving. I'd rather keep up the momentum established this night as long as it seems prudent."
“Not so oddly to refuse surrender to such. Safer to be on equal grounds if they wanted conversation. As far as going on, I’m ready since I came to meet you. Let me go get my steed and supplies. “ barring objections, Kixarn will head back to his horse and bring it to join the group.

Avan, still as a bat, heads into the dim light of the cave, about 50 feet in. He feels refreshed, so he wonders if he can pray to the local cave spirits form more spells, hoping they want to be rid of the corrupting influence of the red woman. He spends an hour beseeching them and bargaining with the capricious ones.
Bringing his horse (who he has named Maxe as a joke) Kix rides near the back of the group, still unsure of how this motley coordinates it's actions and how he'll belong. Sling ready, he ponders his short list of spells, thinking about what he should call forth from the Weave, if danger should threaten.

Rivoril, will head back to the last known hold up position at the beginning of the tunnel. There he will keep a look out for danger, and hostiles approaching the parties direction. While observing from a hidden position, where possible. He has his composite bow at the ready, and is staying alert as requested by Bastion.
You all make it back into the big room without seeing anyone. There are places to leave horse if you wish. The main tunnel leading off here is fifteen feet wide and fifteen feet high. The side tunnel is only ten feet high and five feet wide. Where do you wish to go from here?
OOC: I placed you on the map but let me know where you actually wish to be. You had no issue getting your horse and entering even if you waited a couple hours.
Bastion speaks with Kixarn as they enter. "I surmise that you are some manner of arcanist? Would you be capable of activating a wand of fireballs? We have been carrying one for some time but had none able to use it."
"When combat arises, I tend to do my best to keep their attention on myself and cut down as many as I can with Avan's jackal at my side. Avan lends his support with nature spells and/or helps in the melee as need occurs. Rivoril and Arilyana offer fire support with their bows from behind. How best can we make use of your skills?"
On reaching the large room, Bastion considers the options,"Perhaps we should first investigate the smaller passage, see if we can clear it quickly and move on. Sound good?"
Rivoril, hear's Bastion idea about investigating the smaller passage. "Smaller passage, ok allow me to check if there is any nasty surprises, like traps and snares first," He says.
If any traps or snares are present, he will immediately attempt to disable them, rendering them harmless(if any that is). Then after doing that will move back to the main group quickly, and silentlyreporting everything. He has trap sense, low light vision, and trap finding to aid him.
Rivoril move silently # round123
Rivoril search traps/snares # round1 22
Rivoril disable device/snares/traps # round 121

OOC Rivoril, is only checking the "smaller," passage as suggested by Bastion. Not checking or going into any rooms, or opening doors on his own.
Arilynia will follow the others and be in her normal marching order. She will once again ready her bow for any hostiles that they may encounter. Upon hearing the Bastion wishes to explore the small room first before going further into the cave. She will offer whatever help is needed since she is able to see in the dark without any trouble.

"Bastion, yes, I can make use of a wand like that. I know of the spell it sends out, so that is good. My own magics are limited, but I am swift with a sling and I have some alchemy as well. The alchemy is limited, also, but can be created given time. If you have a wand, do you have spell book of the user? That would help me in many ways." A bit eager with the thought of having a powerful wand to use, Kix hopes more for a positive answer on the book. "I can bring allies for a little while, I can do some damage or enthrall foes, and my raven scouts well. Other magics I have, but not as strong as the wand, yet. I hope to learn and gather better magic as I travel with you. Oh, I also speak Celestial, Infernal,Elvish and Orcish, if you find those of use."

You head down the small corridor. You will not find any traps in it as you head down. It travels a ways before turning to the right. Let me know where you want to place your markers.
OOC - AF21, based on the map I see at this moment. Right behind Rivoril.

Avan after a few seconds, and knowing he has a couple forms now that he's refreshed, changes back to a man. Kixarn, seeing Avan for the first time sees a half-elf ho looks prematurely aged on his face, but his bright brown eyes and matching dark brown long hair betray his youth. His armor is made of plates of wood panels and barks, bound with leaves and grasses. He has a new leather backpack with a longbow and quarterstaff attached.
"Sorry to not have introduced myself properly before," he says. "As Bastion said, I am Avan, a druid of the night. I'm not sure we should go this way, as the ogres took the wide path. However clearing this tunnel will ensure we don't get cut off and surrounded so I will go along with the decision. Just let me do something really quick."
Avan pulls out his Stone of Alarm, attaches it to a gold piece he places on the ground (square AM24) beside two more, building the pile in such a way that the stone must be touched to pick them up. Then he whistles to his jackal and urges him to squeeze into the passageway ahead of himself. (Avan AL24, Jackal AL26)
Bastion digs the wand out of wherever the group had it stored and handed it to Kixarn, "Sorry, no, we don't have the prior owner's book. Oh, incidentally, I am capable of teleporting short distances. If there is a need to block the group off from a foe, leaving me on the other side of the barrier to hold them is not necessarily a bad idea, just leave enough of a gap for me to see through and I'd be able to rejoin you."
He nods at Avan, "The other reason is the small passage seems less likely to extend a great distance. There are no guarantees of course, but I think chances are good we can deal with whatever lies in this direction far more swiftly than the other."
Bastion will head in as well, stepping up just behind Avan.

Swapping spells(if allowed):
0th) 2x Resistance -> guidance, flare
1st) Detect Snares and pits, Shillelagh, Sandblast -> Magic Fang, Calm Animals, Lesser Vigor
2nd) Remedy Moderate Wounds -> Heartfire
3rd) Entangling Staff, Greater Magic Fang -> Mass Resist Energy, Call Lightning
Avan flies into the cave again about 40 feet but does not find anything hostile. The cave spirits seem to be very quiet.
You can swap spells with out a issue.
As everyone heads back into the cave what do you do about the teens that are left?
If none have any other ideas, Bastion will advise that they retreat to their previous holdout spots and remain on the alert.
This time, knowing just how massive these tunnels are, The warforged will go ahead and ride in on his warhorse Arion.
