People continue to attack but bastion misses with his attack as the Ogres look at him Katherina however hits her same Ogre doing a good amount of damage ending its life. This is good as Now only one Ogre can attack either her or Bastion. The other Ogre is in a fight with a bear and a Jackal. The bear lands tow attacks but the Jackel misses. Those firing range weapons at the ogres miss and still there is no movement from the south door. The Ogre swings at the jackal hitting it for 18 points of damage. The last Ogre swings at Bastion but misses barely as bastion takes the powerful blow on his shield almost driving him to his knees.
As the jackal yelps, I raise my crossbow up to shoot from the corner and move to k59 and heal the jackal before I move again, backing up to J61 while I reload and shoot at the monster between the friendly beasts.
The attacking continues with the ranged people missing yoet again. Bastion and Katharina both attak the once Ogre hitting it for a good amount of damage that causes it to fall to the gound and stop moving. The One on the Bear and the Jackal is still attacking after taking a claw from the ear and a bite from the jackal that does a total of 13 damage. It attacks back seeing the bear is hurt attacking it. It hits for 15 damage. This damage is reduced by a healing spell from Dena for 12 points back to the bear.
I think that takes care of all the rolled attacks and damage from most everyone. I still have a round left from the bear and Jackal if the bear is still up.
The remaining Ogre falls from the twin blades of Katharina and Bastions blade. Soon the area is quite quiet as no more violence is occuring in the room or the gate house. You can see now that the fighting is over that the gate you came in is rather stout and would with stand a direct assault from the other side for a while. The room that the four Ogres were in has a crank that would lower a portcullis if need would arise.
Bastion looks around, ensuring that the situation is now secure. "Somebody get Avan back on his feet. All right, I think that's enough for today, we've done a good bit of damage here, and taken some in return. I suggest that we disable this portal so it isn't an issue next time, then head out and rest up. No doubt the enemy will recover some as well, but I don't see a reasonable way to prevent that. Any objections?"
This seems like a good point to stop, the two newcomers should be fine, but most of the spells for today have been expended at this point, not to mention Avan getting dropped and my negative level. This last fight should be enough XP for Kix to level up as well, I'm sure we'll all appreciate having some level 2 wizard spells to support.
Bastion's sword is made out of adamantium, and his mountain hammer maneuver ignores object hardness and DR, so he can chop through literally anything given enough time to work. If there isn't an easier way to make sure this gate and portcullis stay open, we could just destroy them both, leave them lying around in relatively small pieces.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Rivoril, hears Bastion mention about someone disabling the portal device. "I shall make an attempt at disabling the portal device Bastion," He answers.
Disable portal device #10
After, doing that Rivoril will request that he can get some much needed rest to recover and heal.
To disable the gate you would have to somehow remove the metal brackets that have been build into the wall. You would also have to spike the portcullis into up position this should not be too hard to do as it rides a groove down. Once you get that done you are able to head out to the entryway of the corridor that you have been following. Do you retrieve the horses on the way out? Once outside you all receive 500 experience.
Collecting his horse and left gear, Kixarn quietly waits for the rest of the group then follows, lost in thought.

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
Katharina grins as the last ogre falls. " That was fun. A little bit of a challenge but not too much. " The tall redhead looks calmly at the wound from the arrow. She cleans her blades and resheathes them afterwards. Katharina will stay near the back of the group as they exit. She will assist in carrying whatever loot is found outside.
Avan-bear growls and barks an incantation, sharing a Lesser Vigor spell with his jackal (both heal 15 hp). He growls at the south gate and moves over to paw at it, but, seeing limited support for his suggestion, instead transforms back into a half-elf.
"Are you all sure we want to go now?" He whines as the group get ready to leave. "They're all wounded and I have my most potent spells."
Seeing his requests fall on deaf ears, he begins looting the bodies, piling things on his jackal, and helping Arilynia carry some stuff. follows at the rear, leaving his Stone of Alarm in place. "I don't think the ogres come out on their own initiative. If the undead or the lady come this way, they will trigger my stone and we'll hear it up to a quarter mile away. So are we camping here or heading to town?"
Wherever they camp, he will count up the spoils and even invite the teens keeping watch to join in with loot sharing (at this point, because it's not the biggest pile of wealth and is mostly weaponry).
You all make it to the area across from the opening where the teens were watching the opening for any hostiles coming out. The sun is about to rise as you make a cam to rest and recoup some. The day passes quietly and it is late afternoon once again when you all are rested and ready to go. The stone of alarm has not sounded.
During the time in camp, Kix contemplates his lack of ability with somber seriousness. After a while, he approaches Bastion and timindly asks "Uh, I know I wasn't help much back there, and think I may have way of doing more. You said that group had some funds available of use - could I ask you to invest in to make some scrolls that would give me usefulness? I could prepare a dozen spells over the next day so, so that I wouldn't completely be worthless against these foes."

Arilynia helps Avan gather the loot items and even though his suggestion goes on deef ears from others, she would liked to have carried on. She will tell him so once they are back out and had made camp. She also tells him that they shall indeed kill the ones responsible for the deaths of the villagers. She hopes that the women that have been taken are still alive but in a way her heart is heavy for she fears it may not be the case. She doesn't voice this thought to anyone in the group though.
"We could have acted sooner," Avan says with an equally heavy heart, head bowed and eyes to the floor. "but then maybe we would be among the dead. Man cannot predict these things. We must take them as they happen along with the grief caused. We can celebrate when it's over, if anyone would still want to."
Considering the very late hour we're resting, he says a short prayer to the waning spirits of natural night before going to sleep, and another deeper meditation after his shift on last watch. He gets the feeling of appreciation from the local spirits as he feels greater power in his mind and finer control of the magic weave.
"Unless someone noticed an enemy emerging on their watch, we've contained everything inside."Avan says as planning begins. "Now I think we shouldn't bother with the ogres. They are likely unwilling patsies, but may still be a threat to the village. When we have the lady's head, perhaps we could negotiate."
Katharina stretches as she prepares to head into the labyrinth again. She keeps her body fully covered in the waning sunlight. " Let us finish this tonight. I look forward to removing her presence from this area. No one needs to live in fear like these villagers do. " She digs her nails into her palms as she says this.

Katharina feels like she is on fire as the ogre drops in front of her. She races over to the ogre opposing Bastion and attacks in a blur of motion.
OOC: She has two more rounds of actions rolled. No maneuvers used on either round. Just basic attacks.
Avan-bear makes his full attack, then 5-foot-steps back (L59), looking at Ghanima and Dena and whimpering.

Katharina whirls and races towards the remaining ogre. She seeks a flanking position with Bastion and her blades flash supernaturally quick.
She uses wolf fang strike to move to the ogre and then get 2 attacks. Bonus to hit from flanking and damage from Bastion.
