Bastion shrugs in response to Kix, "Sure, the minute we find someone selling what you need I'll definitely front the funds. Heck I'd intended to get you a bunch more in the way of wands when the chance came. Unfortunately, I think the nearest seller of such goods is a week or more away from here. Don't worry too much though, you have been a help already, and I'm sure you will continue to be. Heck, that work with the fireball wand was just what we needed. I didn't relish the thought of trying to open the door while they were trying to bash my head in, thanks for that."
At Avan's words he nods, "We would almost certainly have been dead had we tried to pursue immediately. Remember how much of a beating we had taken? And then to deal with all of those trolls in that weakened condition... I wish we could have come faster as well my friend, but save your regrets. We do the best we can, and hope that it is enough."
"I have to disagree with your assessment of the ogres though. Given this foe's patterns, it seems very likely that they'll use them to attack if we go for the leader first. Either us from behind, or the village while we're occupied. Heading into that darkness will be dangerous enough without them at our backs."
You are all rested up and ready to start a new day as the afternoon sun slowly moves to the west. The hole is still silent without any signs of movement within.
"So, where are we headed now. Further into the labarynth,"? Rivoril asks, fully rested with his hit points restored. With a full compliment of spells again.
"Aye, I suppose we'll kill the undead while there's still some light," Avan replies. "They preferred to attack the village at night after all, perhaps they dislike the day? If so, they'll hate the spell I have ready."
"You teens? Are you brave enough to come in with us? It will be risky, some of you will likely die in the worst case. Or will you stay out here and warn us if the ogres emerge?"
He lights up the tip of an arrow with a Light orison, happy to lead again, but if he's at the front, the Jackal must come second. He doesn't cast his shared buffs just yet, in case they become separated.
Katharina strides around the camp eager to depart. " Yes, now is the time to engage the undead. They are weaker in the sunlight and the vampire really doesn't care for it. The vampire lady is the key. Kill her and her puppets will crumble. "
She stands ready a short time later. While not fully healed she feels somewhat better. All her belongings are loaded up in her backup. She holds a kukri in each hand again. " Let the fun begin. I shall walk at the back. I have very good hearing and can sense these undead creatures. " She will follow them into the labyrinth at the rear.
Refresh, renewed and re-armed with his magic, Kixarn prepares to shoulder what ever task he can handle. "Upcoming the Vampires will be trouble again. Taking control of us makes for hard battles."

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
Rivoril, will scout ahead of the pack. In case he is needed to open locks and devices. Or otherwise sniff out traps and disable them if required. Otherwise, if it isn't required will still be towards the front of the pack.
After trying to convince the teens to come along, and with Rivoril scouting, Avan will go third behind Bastion (presumably) and Jackal right behind in taking up lots of room.
Arilynia feeling rested and eager to go, readies herself and also encourages the teens to join them; unless they feel better to stay to warn us of other trouble. She will placw herself in the middle to rear of the group as yo be in bow range, which she has at the ready for anything that may attack the group.
After a brief argument with the party, Avan partly relents that they should at least check where the ogres are, but not confront them just yet. Are the teens coming?
Katherina turns away and frowns in irritation that they dont wish to go after the vampires straight away. When the mention is made of the teens going in she arches her brows in surprise. " Are we really considering taking them in? They would be more of a liability than a help in my opinion. Are they experienced in fighting evil creatures. " She gazes at the teens. With her cloak lowered now that the sun is low over the horizon her long red locks blow in the breeze. " The night is dark and full of terror. Trust me, I know that. I think you would be better off waiting like before. " Her green eyes glitter at them. She shrugs though. " I am new to this group. It isnt my call. "
The teens follow the group in as you make your way back down to the main gate house. The gate is still open and nothing has changed since you left. You go toward the closed south door. It is not locked and can be opened easily.
Kat walks on the balls of her feet with kukris in hand. She pays more attention to their flanks and rear to ensure that they are not ambushed. Walking quietly she feels an excitement building in her.
Avan confronts the teens, "I can see you are all brave souls, but Katharina is right." He goes over to the ogre bodies in the north room, checking to see if they've been tampered with. "Check out the size of these things! And their bows and clubs could kill a man easily. We will protect you, we will stand in front of you if you come with us, but against our more magically inclined foes you may find the fight is chaotic and danger will be up close."
He turns to the party, "Are we sure we couldn't do with a volley of arrows to assist us?"
After that's settled he points out the mechanism to the portcullis, showing that we can trap the ogres here. "We just need to remove the spike, reactivating it, then disable either the crank, ruining it until it's repaired, or jam the iron grate, perhaps from both sides so it takes even more time to fix, or do both? Whoever's inside will need to teleport out, wasting one useful teleport so who can spare that resource? Or shall I call on a summon?"
Ghanima tries to follow along with all the planning but gets distracted after there's mention that there are no undead in this fight, just big meaty brutes that are best suited to the big men and beasts that have taken point, their obvious experience in these matters compared to hers keeps her silent while the planning goes on. She thinks how far she is from the influence of Meiliki, but remembers that there are women here that might still be alive and waiting on them. They're probably being kept as feeding stock for the vampires. With that thought Ghanima made herself pay attention to the conversation again, focused as she was the moment when her and Katt set upon the path to find them.

Katherina shrugs at this. " I can work from the inside and teleport out. No need to use up one of your summons Avan. " She strides quickly to the portculllis. Ducking down she crosses under the gate and listens carefully for any sign of danger. When everything seems safe she will help to disable the portcullis.
Everyone makes it into the gatehouse and stand inside as Rivoril resets the portcullis. The South door is not locked nor is it barred. You do not hear anything behind the door.

Rivoril, gets to work and removes the spike again.
“Hey, I can help reset the portcullis. Let me try,” Rivoril says.
