Perrington is rather fruffled as the fairly large dragon sniffs him excessively. Upon saying she disliked his smell, Perrington peers down the length of his nose and through his tiny glasses at the young dragon quizzically. He lifts up his arm and, in the most posh fashion possible, gently sniffs his armpit. He then lowers his arm and thinks for a brief moment before scribbling something down on his paper that is attached to a thin wooden slate.
During Sintarfel's stay, Penelope happens to be inspecting the hot spring area, just waiting for the day that it's finished. She looks over the ledge and sees Sintarfel galavanting about down below in the playpen/hoard area. She giggles softly as she gets a fun idea. She makes her way to the edge of the ledge and casts a spell down below to the ground. A bright gold dot appears on the ground about 15 feet from Sintarfel. The gold dot moves two feet to the left, then two feet to the right. The dot disappears, the dot reappears.
Sinternal's eyes lock onto the dot, after setting her rear legs just right, she pounces. Chasing the dot all over the cavern, the young dragoness proves to be an agile hunter, swiftly shifting direction to keep up with the illusion. Eventually, she pounces on the dot with her mouth, and Penelope feels an odd tugging sensation as her control over the spell ends. Below, Sinternal is happily trotting off, a glowing gold light held firmly in her jaws.
The young pony sized bronze proves energetic, curious, and highly playful. She seems to have limited experience with humanoids, but is eager to learn. She also seems to have a limited understanding of privacy, occasionally nosing into situations where her presence is a bit awkward.
Silas is all over the castle for the next few days, offering aid with various projects. He even manages to help Perry's hot springs setup along a good bit with a bit of fire and rock magic providing an adjustable heat source for the pool. This last doesn't seem to have been entirely altruistic, as he spends a decent amount of time in there afterwards.
After spending some time with the cursed items, he declares Cyanwrath's sword to be salvageable. Changing it to act as a bane to chromatic dragons should not be incredibly difficult, but he'll need special components and some time. Rezmir's intelligent blade is another matter. Technically, the malevolent spirit within could be purged with a great deal of effort but that would also render it mostly powerless. He recommends dropping it in a volcano, as it doesn't seem to be especially warded against heat.
Delna is more reclusive, shutting herself into the stable more often than not. But it isn't long before she starts making progress with the stubborn wyverns. The dwarven ranger is a bit grumpy and stubborn, but opens up a bit with anyone who hunts with her, something she is often doing to provide fresh meat for her charges.
At an opportune time, Lawrance presents Aisling to Silas, as well as retrieving the cursed items Velon mentioned. "She has no memories when released from a bearer, and I was hoping maybe you could give us some ideas to try and repair this issue. Also, we found this Teleportation Circle scroll, and I don't know the three destinations marked here. Could they be Circles in the opposition's camp?"
OOC - Wand of cursed Ice Lance, CyanWrath's sword, d6 electric longsword, full plate armour vs ethereal and the ioun stone vs Undead are the items that are cursed or have an issue, as far as I can tell. There are a lot of items we got from that batch. Does everyone have all the ones they took recorded? Who ended up with the Prince's courtblade?
Also, I chose Waterdeep and Candlekeep as the two free circles for learning the Circle spell.

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
Silas smiles as he studies and converses with Aisling, but ultimately he shakes his head, "It should be doable, but honestly I wouldn't know where to begin without a great deal of study. Items with their own soul are unique from each other, and I the only time I tried to modify one it didn't end well, though I was quite rushed at the time."
Silas points to one of the Glyph sequences, "I know that one, Thaymount Citadel. That is... troubling. Szass Tam does not permit free access to his capital. If the Cult is friendly enough to travel there freely..." He shakes his head, "As to the others, various cult strongholds would be my guess, though I would not suggest blindly going to one."
Irdeith manages to hand the geased longsword and fullplate back within the hour. He promises to have the wand handled within a few days. As to the Ioun stone, there's nothing worthwhile he can do, it'd be easier to enchant a new item.
Sinternal soon discovers the castle's real treasure, Poppo's tarts and other baked goods. An entire meal's worth of desserts simply goes missing one evening, and the young bronze is found later on in something of a stupor, cradling her stuffed belly and moaning slightly.
Not long after the castle takes on its unusual guests, Citadel Adbar is sighted ahead. Soon enough, people have a chance to disembark and head for the dwarven city.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"WHO ATE ALL THE PASTRIES?!" Perry yells as he panics at the "tragedy" that has befallen him. Eventually he finds Sinternal with a full belly and stares at her in an unamused fashion. His demeanor eventually breaks however, as she does look quite cute being so stuffed. He laughs, then gives a bit of advice to the inexperienced dragon, "Listen Sinternal, you will get a tummy ache if you eat ALL the pastries at once. Be careful okay? Plus, we can share! It's always more fun to eat with a group of friends."

If Penelope were a ranger, shops would be her Favored Terrain. She looks to the others with a serious expression and says with a determined expression, "I am ready. Everyone tell me what you need and I will find it at an unbeatable price."She seems quite serious this time, as if she has trained her whole life for this moment.
She begins by asking around town for a blacksmith skilled in working with dragon parts...
Perry wants two things mainly. Firstly, he wants to commission a dragonbone scimitar (masterwork +1 pre-enchant) out of the bones harvested from Chuth. Secondly, he would like to purchase cold resistance potions in case we have to fight the white dragon who has the horn up in the north. We also should buy clothes for potentially extreme weather, but I think we need to visit that tribal town up north for that.
To expedite things, everyone post in spoiler tags what exactly you wish to purchase. I'll make a Persuasion check here to see how much of a % discount Penelope gets for shopping: 18
Perry wants the scimitar to look something like this, which he would show to the artisan via Minor Illusion.
OOC: GKnight_ Morgaine has the d6 electric longsword and The Ioun Stone vs Undead on her sheet. Those are the two items she took from that. She has the atonement, just have to use an action to change to the Undead one instead of the Ioun Stone of Regeneraion.
Morgaine would like at least 4 Arrows of Dragon Slaying( if available), think a nice pair of fur boots or waterproof boots are needed as well. Maybe a dress or two as well or some hair accessories, like combs, ribbons and such.
As we approach the city and get ready to depart, Morgaine is excited to see the Dwarven city. She also looks forward to doing a bit of shopping and thinks about each item in the General Store; she looks at and wonders if she got them, would Poljen would like them in her hair.
Lawrance thanks Silas for the help with all his questions and the curses, and gets back to teaching, studying, working with Aisling and development. Upon hearing of Perry's offer to shop like a fiend, he has Gamliel deliver a list of spells and materials he needs for his researches, along with sufficient funds to do the purchases.
No real materials here to mention, just fluff. Spells requested are Tenser's Transformation (6th), Guards & Wards(6th), Mass Suggestion(6th),Far Step (5th), Sickening Radiance(4th),Resilient Sphere (4th).

Poljen will ask if his great axe with its extra cold damage could be improved, and if that would take a wizard or a smith? Though he will also suggest the group get spells/potions that will help against cold, both weather and damage.
OOC: Looking to up that to a +2...not sure what else he needs right now.
Lia spends a lot of time practicing with her oath bow . She knows that future battles will require all of her skill. Lia peppers target after target in the courtyard with arrows . She spends quite a bit of time with Sinternal as well. The young dragon fasinates Lia to no end.
Mari watches the dwarf work with the wyverns. Day by day they seem to be responding better .
Shopping list: 2 arrows of dragon slaying, 2 potions of invisibilty, glamoured studded leather armor. Sell the +1 breastplate and mithral half plate
Along with the outfits that Cratol had Perry pick up for him, Sylmae and her brother he also had Perry pick up a +2 monks outfit for 3,600 gold so Cratol would spend 3,900 gold all together.
Citadel Adbar is as imposing as ever on the approach, even viewed from a great height. Irdeith wishes you luck, but declines to accompany you, "They always make such a huge deal out of it when one of my kind comes to visit, mostly in celebration of deeds I had no part in. It is hard to get any peace, and those wards make doing so incognito more than a little difficult."
Those wishing to visit the city pass through a wide tunnel in the side of the mountain under the watchful eyes of dwarven sentinels. A checkpoint ahead is heavily guarded. Visitors are expected to stand upon a wardstone and state their names and intentions in the city. The powerful magic of the stone reveals illusions and transformative magics, and also compels truth.
There is a fair amount of traffic through here, but the gatekeepers are rather efficient about letting people past. Soon enough the group is admitted, though the gatekeepers do briefly hesitate over the tiefling.
Not long afterwards, you are overlooking one of the central caverns of Adbarrim City, a bustling metropolis, one of the largest in the world, and every inch of it underground. Most of its reach is not visible, but you can still get a sense of the grand scale of it all from where you stand. The cavern you are in is almost two miles in length, and is one of three such, with countless connecting tunnels and smaller chambers.
The cavern you are in however is the only one most outsiders see. It is primarily dedicated to trade and services for travelers, and almost everywhere you look, someone is trying to get your attention to sell some trinket or bauble.
After successfully passing through the DSA checkpoint, Perry asks, "Stupid security, why do they always make me take off my shoes? Is there something about tiefling feet I don't know?" The bard ponders this existential question, then completely forgets about it as he takes in the wonders of the city. He breathes in some of that world-renowned fresh dwarven air then continues, "But ah, this place sure brings back memories. Does anyone remember why this place is so special?"
Perry walks around for a bit, seemingly reminiscing about something, and just takes a few minutes to absorb the atmosphere. Afterwards, he turns to the others and states, "We've already been here before for shopping and have purchased several magical items. I'm already good friends with the potion shop guy over there, but we do need to find this rumored dragonsmith while we are here. I'll go to the tavern as Penelope and try asking around. In my experience, bartenders and bards usually know pretty much everything noteworthy in an area. If that doesn't work, I can ask around at the various magic shops we've already been to."
Perry will find a quiet alley to make the transformation as to not startle anyone, then immediately comes back as Penelope. She comes back to the group, her chipper and ditzy personality in full force, and gushes, "Hi hi! Ooooo, I love this place! It's been so long since I got to do this!" She begins making her way over to the tavern, but stops and talks to almost every single bauble and trinket vendor along the way.
Lia and Mari walk into the huge cavern .Shaking her head Lia says, " This always feels so unnatural. I couldn't stay here long. I need to breathe fresh and see the stars light the darkness. " She walks carefully through the throng, her red gown clinging to her as she moves .
Mari is wearing her usual travelers gear . Her green eyes are alert as she scans the cavern for anything unusual .
Lia beckons to her friend. " This way Mari. I know just what we need. " She looks at the various venders for just the right thing .Lia seeks out the best jewelry maker. She looks for silver filigree head chains for each of them. Lia wants one that has alternating flowers and animals with a diamond dangling down on her forehead . Mari wants one that has rubies dangling.
Cratol finally heads to the city with Sylmae so she can dress shop with her. They take Perry with them so that he can haggle for them as Cratol is a foll with his money. He allows the two of them to get him some nice clothes as well as Sylmae ten new dresses of the latest design. They will also Join with Lia, Mari and Morgiane to look at nice combs and other jewelry for Sylmae. Cratol would want her to look nice. He will carry the purchases for Sylmae.
Morgaine, goes into the area were all the venders are and is overwhelmed as to were to go first. She will rely on the others in the group to guide her to areas she wishes to visit to find the items she wants.
Once the shopping is done, she will join Poljen for some sparring with others.
OOC: looking for combs and such for her hair, arrows of Dragon Slaying, a nice pair of boots for the cold and potions of cold resist( just in case her Necklace of Adaption doesn't quite cover that)
Back in his tower, Lawrance dedicates himself to a recent task - working with Aisling's 'healing'. Varicoloured smoke issues from braziers arranged in a circle around the shaped stone stand holding the sentient staff, twisting around in unnaturally perfect lines as they orbit the artifact. Little threads of electricity run randomly along the lines of intersection, illuminating the column with light. Outside the circle of braziers, Lawrance moves erratically, his arms and legs akimbo and his fingertips trickling different kinds of energy, adding to the ordered chaos of the ritual, as even these threads get pulled into the slowly spinning vortex. After about an hour of building magics in the lab, the tower is immense, a circle of varied energies and shapes almost ten feet around, slowly rotating, opaque.
"You all right, in there, Aisling?" Lawrance calls into the circle
Muffled and distorted, magically attenuated, a response comes back "I think sooooo....It feels strange...."
"Not much longer, I promise!" Lawrance walks around the column, inspecting closely the balance and pattern of powers at work. Satisfied, he extinguishes the braziers with a word and gesture, the smoke column unaffected.
Sitting down at a strategic point in front of the magic circle, he closes his eyes, reaching his fingers out until they barely touch the spells fabric. Little electric sparks dart between the column and his fingertips back and forth, like a seamstresses needle work, and each touched color ring tightens, focuses and becomes defined until the staff can be seen again between the rings. His hands move up and down the column, focusing each ring until the entire tower is now a stack of them - blue, green, violet, orange - many colours with space between.
Opening his eyes once again, he nods at his work then sends a mental message to Gamliel %What do you think? Does it look good from your side?%
Somewhere in another realm, a response comes -They look sharp enough to cut stone, Lawrance. I'd say they're good to go ahead.-
"Aisling, we're ready to start the testing."
"I'm ready."
He sharply flicks one of the rings. With a soft *woosh!* the ring contracts and disappears into the staff, causing it to glow brightly with the chosen colour. The wood of the staff shines intensely, a white so bright it blazes through the rings and paints the distant wall in lines.
"Holy Light!" Lawrance calls out to which the staff answers "Wow! It's intense! Not uncomfortable, just...energizing?"
The light slowly fades, the staff returning to it's natural colour. Seeing this, he flicks the next ring, and the process continues, each one a different hue and magic. All goes well enough until a dark ring is triggered and impacts the staff. With a loud yell, a sudden burst of energy erupts from the staff and tears through the few remaining rings, shredding them and repelling braziers, smoke, Lawrance and various other objects at high speed into the surrounding walls! Sudden smoke spurts through various windows in the lab, making the tower resemble a smokestack of nearby Adbar for a few minutes.
Bleeding from numerous small cuts and purpling from new bruises he groans. Picking himself up from under the scattering of debris, he slowly levers himself up and shouts "Aisling! Are you okay?"
After a long moment, he hears an "Ouch. I'm okay, but that was horrible!" from her and he sighs in relief. "Well, we know what doesn't work. Your construction absolutely hates the energy of death. Ouch, indeed."
“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
Velon declines any invitation from Perry, Lia, Mari, Morgaine, etc. to join them in shopping, saying he'd like some time alone with Irdeith. He does ask Perry to ensure there are more than enough cold resistance potions for all and, of course, is happy to chip in.
Velon simply shares with Irdeith the stories of their various quests in more detail, and tells his mentor of his many concerns. He worries about keeping everyone alive. He worries about the castle being attacked, especially when he and the main group are away. He worries about managing the many odd and eccentric personalities, or lack there of, in their group. He worries about failing them as a leader. He worries about falling just short of stopping the return of the chromatic dragon goddess. Lastly, on a more personal note, he worries about being separated from Lia for one reason or another, the difference in their aging being a big one. His master has gifted him the heartscale and has given him vague advice no the subject, but the paladin pokes and prods for a bit more on the subject. He also shares with Irdeith his own progress, telling him how he can feel Bahamut's grace more now than ever. It surrounds him and protects him and others around him, and feels like a soft, warm glow even if it cannot always be seen.
Velon later receives word from the guards that there was an explosion in the tower where Lawrance does his work. The paladin joins the Captain and others in rushing up to find the wizard. He bangs his gauntleted fist again the study door. "Lawrance? Is everything ok in there?"
Eventually Velon does make his way to the citadel. He wanders the market area a bit and otherwise heads to the temple of Bahamut. He is curious who he might meet there, if he can feel his God's presence even more so, and either way will ponder everything he and the party have gotten into that relates to the great platinum God and pray for wisdom and assistance on the concerns he shared with Irdeith earlier that day.

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?"
"Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied
