Carmir quickly races towards the large chest, struggling to open the wood and metal lid. Vignar sits patiently next to the chest, looking around curiously before snarling in the direction of the giant zombie moaning and slamming the wall in the distance. Once the chest is open, Chirpee opens her eyes and tries her best to lift herself up... struggling to find the strength until Carmir helps her out. With a nod, Chripee looks to the tiefling and lets out the faintest of "thanks" before the two of them set off into the mines, heading towards home. The tunnels are pitch black and chirpee is unable to help in any way with navigation. The mastiff however sniffs the ground as it tries to look for a scent to follow. You remember it took quite a while moving through the maze-like mineshafts and tunnels.....

As the group of battered children make their way towards the watch building, the commotion prompts the attention of a few of the guards inside. One of them being Penny who walks through the set of heavy double doors and immediately drops her clipboard. "What.. how.. "She would say with a look of shock spreading across her face. "These children.. they came out of the wall in the cathedral! They said Cassandra was trying to kill them!" The old man would say as he tries to usher the kids into the building. "That... That is terrible! We need to arrest her at once!" Penny would shout as she picks up her clipboard. "Perhaps we should take the children somewhere safe first! Some of them look hurt and they could use cleaned up.. Do you know why they took the children?"She would ask as she looks to Father Bryon who just shrugs and shakes his worried head.
Rustler cocks his head from side to side, and then makes the sound of metal striking stone as if an answer. At any following strange looks, he glances to the other kids. Realizing their shock setting in however, he knocks on his head, trying to recall a phrase or fragment of the past few days of working.
Aside from whatever else comes to mind, he again makes the stone striking sound alongside swinging motions, followed by crack and crash from bugbear bodies breaking open the pit; including -- without intending to -- any bone snapping heard among the cacophony. He bows his head at the sound made fresh once more, and is silent for a moment.
Sucking in a breathe, Rustler steps up closer to Penny. "Kyle and Chad" He said in Casandra's voice, hissing as she did back then. "Take the little monsters upstairs and put them with that mouthy kenku you taught a lesson earlier..." He pauses, eyes widening as he looks around frantically for their sister. But in seeing nothing, he sadly coos and looks back in the direction of the cathedral.
"Alright you savages... Your work is done... the SIlver Mother thanks you for your cooperatoin..." Rustler continues eventually in Kyle's voice, trying and failing to smirk with a beak. "Yeah.. now that you are of no use to us... I guess we can probably just let you all go.." He add in Chad's voice, mimicing the man's posture at the time in a crude parody. "What about mom and dad?" He says in George's voice. Then its back to Chad following a spit off to the side. "They arn't your parents... ain't no dwarves ever given birth to some monsters like you! And besides... We still need their help with-..."
"SHUT UP AND GET THEM OUT OF HERE"He ends in Cassandra's voice prior to looking pleading between Father Byron and Penny.
Making bis way into the old silver mines, Carmir leads Vignar and Chirpee into the darkness. After traveling for a few minutes, The small kenku begins to stumble and lag behind. The tiefling manages to help the small kenku on to the back of the mastiff and they continue on their way... as they make their way, they have a hard time at first staying on the correct path and running into multie dead ends.. much like Carmir had done when he first escaped from captivity. Eventually, The tiefling spots the previous footprints left behind by Vignar and follows them back towards home. It however takes much longer than the first time through with the wounded kenku, taking nearly three hours to make your way back into the basement of your old childhood home.. exhausted and filthy.
Out front of the watch building, Penny listens to The kenku mimic a number of sounds and voices. "I recognize those voices.." She would say with a frown. "That is a neat trick you have there my small burd friend. I think I need to get you to safety.. If Cassandra is truly behind this.. perhaps other members of the watch are as well. Please, I will et a carriage and we ca. to go my house. You will be safe there and can rest while I work to get a team of men I van trust to go back after your mom and dad." Penny would say writing in her notebook with the oen she seems to always have on her while her blond hair blows in the breeze...... Penny then ducks inside the west h budding for a moment before ushering you all around to the side of the building. Once here she motions for you all to get into a very ornate looking carriage
Rustler cocks his head to the side once or twice in a seeming gesture of innocent curiosity. But in truth, he needed... was supposed to... One.... In situation like these, one is supposed to watch a person closely for strangeness in character or intent. He failed to remember last time. He worked without thought of anything but the lesson being taught (from his perspective), caring not about the torment of his siblings or his own.
It couldn't happen again. Rustler would be more watchful this time...
Whether they discovers something about Penny's reaction or words to be concerned about however, one look at some of the haggard appearance of their siblings is enough for this kenku to keep their beak shut. For now. But he watched her closely a more than easy to feign sense of passing interest from their own fatigue, and follows along without complaint. Just before stepping into the cart later, he gives one last look in the general direction of the church, chirp something in auran, then steps as at least the second to last to enter.
As Rustler examines this seemingly well meaning woman, he cannot help but feel that something is just a bit.. off.. He cannot put his finger on it exactly.. He detects.. more fear maybe.. that she is letting on...
"Hurry.. let's get you all somewhere safe so we can pushish those responsible for this!.. Where.. Where are the others?" Penny would say to Cinders as she ushers the kids into carrage. (You assume she is talking about your bugbear, goblin, and changling siblings that she had been working with only days ago)
Back at the house, Carmir realizes that he had never been in the house while it was so quiet. Making his way to the kithen, he is able to find some leftover food... judging by the quality and care put into its preparation, it is obvious that it was made by your father.. It has been a long time since you have tasted his cooking.. but the smell of the food brings back a lot of memories of a time from long ago...
Cinders doesn't notice anything special or out of the ordinary, being to distracted by everything else going on. as his younger siblings begin to file into the large ornate carriage.
So as all the siblings pile into the carriage, Penny moves to the front of and grabs the reigns. Once George, Cinders, and Rustler are all inside it begins making its way across the stone road and making its way across town. Some of the children inside are very quiet as they think about everything that has happened to them over the course of the past few days while others are excitedly looking out the windows as the passing buildings. After a few minutes, the carriage comes to a stop in front of a large house. "Go on in and make yourselves at home. You should all be safe here." She says looking to the kids and then to Cinders, "Why don't you take your brothers and sisters inside, make yourselves at home.. get a good nights rest but don't go upstairs.. got it..." She would say while twirling her pen around in her hand and giving him a soft smile. "
Cinders is able to recognize the house they arrive at but before he can say anything as his siblings rush up to the house...

Carmir takes some food to Chirpee who is resting in her bed, having pointed out her room to the tiefling. She happily gulps down the food and drink the best she can as she struggles with every bite. Once her belly is full she closes her eyes with a "koo" and falls asleep. Vignar lays down next to the tiefling and falls alseep as well.
Tired but ever curious, Rustler lets any other kids stream past as he stared up at the Penny, scratching his head. "Home." He repeats in Penny's voice pointing to her, then over to the house followed by a head-cant to the side. After receiving an answer, he waddles over to clasp one of her hands, and start loosely dragging her to the house. "Come along now, Rustler. Dinna' jus' bout ready now."He says in Father Slate's voice.

I am going to get a crew together to stop Cassandra from completing her mission! I will be back in the morning to check on you all before we go!" She would say with a wave as the children enter the house. The inside is very fancy and ornate with large paintings on the wall.
