Angie looks fondly at the ring as Gobber puts it in his pack. "It really is a very charming ring." She looks at the lake in front of them. "Well, we still need to find that stag. I say we search the perimeter of the lake for any signs of her."
You begin to follow the trail away from the lake. After only a short distance you hear a rustling sound off the trail a little deeper in the woods. You pause and wait a moment to ensure you aren’t hearing things. Everything seems quite, so you walk a few more paces along the trail and you hear the rustling sound again. You pause once more and so does the noise. You walk again and the noise starts again. Things go on like this for a few minutes which leads you to believe you are being followed.
Angie lowers her voice so that hopefully only her companions can hear her.
"My friends, I believe we are being followed. Perhaps one of us, who ever is the stealthiest, should pretend to move forward while in fact falling apace behind, and see if whatever is following will pass them by. Then, whoever falls behind could either catch up with us in a round about manner or get the drop on our follower and bring him out of hiding."

Which one of you will fall behind? I think Gobber has the highest stealth modifier.
Gobber walks a short distance away from the group and finds a few bushes to hide along the side of the group. He ducks into them and waits for Angie, Healer, and Thokein to pass by. Once they do he waits a few minutes for them to get ahead then comes out of his hiding place and follows from behind keeping an eye out for anything following the group.
The rustling sounds mirror the party's actions. Something now seems to be walking alongside Gobber in the woods as well as Angie, Healer, and Thokein.
Gobber you spot what looks like tracks leading into the brush. You follow them for a moment and see there are multiple sets of wide footprints that appear humanoid. The tracks are wide and large.. they do not appear human, nor halfling. Whatever made the prints also left gouges in the ground when they walked.. perhaps their toes have claws? You realize that there are probably more than one of whatever is mirroring your movements.
Gobber signals the party to stop by raising his hand in a 90-degree angle and points to the leading bush. Gobber whispers to the party, "There's a group of creatures in the bushes. There might be more surrounding us."

Make a survival check please.
As you begin to walk the perimeter of the lake Gobber hears the voice again..
Pretty isn't it? You know what else is pretty? Me. But, I would look even prettier on your finger don't you think?
Thokein will also search for tracks.

You start to walk around the edges of the lake. After roughly ten minutes of walking the air becomes more frigid and a mist begins to form...
You are however able to find the beginning of another path leading away from the lake. There appears to be hoof prints on it...
Gobber the voice sounds again in your mind, before it speaks it sighs deeply:
Would you please just put me on so we may speak properly... I can't keep this up all day. I grow tired.
"Hey everyone! I found hoofprints!"
"Let's follow those tracks," Angie suggests.

Healer will attempt to sniff out the follower. He grunts a soft bear grunt and chuffs the air.

The wind must be blowing in the wrong direction, because you don’t smell a thing.

"Guess I'll take a look at what's ahead and do some scouting. Don't stay too far from me, got it?" Gobber winks at Angie.
Gobber and someone from the other three quarters of the party please make a survival check.
