For the past several decades, the scales of the multiverse have been moving in and out of balance more and more frequently. There is one man within the multiverse who can potentially bring the balance back to how it was; Mordenkainen. However, he is not to do this alone.
Across the cosmos, the archwizard has been recruiting members for a new council, one that will work to balance the good and evil, law and chaos, and other works of the multiverse together. He has brought these eight individuals to a special subplane, known as The Octagonal Tower, in order to train them in the way of wizardry and magical might. Each of them has specialised in a school of magic and become true masters of that school in their own right, though their knowledge is magic overall is not perfected.
Within the Octagonal Tower, these eight individuals have been studying together and getting ready for their first assignment from their leader. They find themselves in the common room by an open fire, getting prepared for Mordenkainen to return to The Octagonal Tower with information.
Players, if you would like to introduce your characters, a light description of their appearance and what the others will know about said character.
Warx is a tall Hobgoblin with reddish-orange skin, yellow eyes, and black hair. He is a bit of a bruiser as Wizards go, wearing studded leather armor under his loose travelling clothes. He covers up with a cloak hiding the flail strapped to his back, and the whip and dagger attached to his belt. You know that Warx likes to play little tricks on other making illusions to mess with them where he can. (Not to injure, but to pester and annoy to Warx's delight.) In the training sessions you have noticed him use his illusions to distract opponents, then attacks with both physical attacks as well as minor magical attacks.
As the group sits there in the common room Warx occasionally makes illusions of fire dragons burst from the fireplace and circle the others heads.
A drow sitting in a couch, Valentine the albino drow, a Szarkai. dressed in her finest attire, very long, loose sitting, snow white and moss green dress, wearing a emerald and rose quartz moon jewelry head-piece and few bracelets, silvered shawls hanging from her arms, around her hips is a bunch of black leather belts with various pouches and a gold-chained tome and her white hair reaches her knees in two long spider-like braids. some might find her a attractive one, usually she is very helpful and will come with information about anything a 'friend' would desire, she love getting along with others, sneaking a cryptic message in their heads, suggestively telling them about the future events to unfold.

As the group is seated and waiting, several of the Unseen Servants within the Tower are working at cleaning the area in preparation of Mordenkainen's return. A platter of biscuits floats into the room and is presented to those present to offer them a bite to eat whilst they wait, as a decanter of water and several glasses also follow afterwards.
Vax is an average sized Half-Elven male with brown hair and blue eyes. He is wearing a long, dark violet jacket that is currently open to reveal a navy blue vest and white shirt underneath. His trousers are also navy blue and are neatly tucked into his brown leather boots. His hair is currently tied back and he is also wearing glasses. Vax hasn't spoken since we've arrived, outside of introducing himself when we first got here. He's spent most of his time here peering into a notebook, muttering to himself, and occasionally writing something in there. It doesn't look like he's noticed anything that his companions are doing and while he has taken a biscuit, he has yet to actually take a single bite out of it.

A gray-skinned, elephantine loxodon taking up an entire couch a little back from the fire, Bankahn, happily eating three biscuits at once (one in each hand and one in his trunk) has a bit more...belly than most of his kind (his fine white robes with green lining do little to hide this), but he's got some muscle, too. Either way, he would be an imposing figure, towering above everyone else even while sitting, with a massive longsword strapped to his belt, if you didn't all know him to be a very friendly guy. In fact, the only thing scary about Bankahn is his tendency to break things out of sheer clumsiness or seeming unawareness of his size.
A small hawk perches on Bankahn's shoulder, its talons apparently causing Bankahn's thick skin no discomfort. This is Udo, Bankahn's familiar, which he is always feeding things, despite the fact that it requires no food. Consequentially, it has gotten quite fat.
A backpack, packed meticulously, sits at Bankahn's feet.
Some things almost everyone likely knows about Bankahn:
He's over seven feet tall. You know this because just the other day, he walked through a narrower doorway and smashed through the wooden top of the doorframe with his head. Bankahn wasn't too badly hurt, but he was clearly embarrassed.
He's very patient. Those known for their "pranks" also know that Bankahn will huff a bit at being the victim of a prank, but he never seems to get angry. Of course, those who have pranked Bankahn also have likely walked into a near-invisible barrier of magic at one time or another!
His real name's "Jooor," but the subtle intonations are lost on most non-Loxodons, so he asks that you call him Bankahn, a close approximation in Common.
Coseris sits in a chair his spellbook open on his lap, feet dangling off the edge of the chair. He is a very short Gnome when standing fully upright about three and a half feet tall. his facial features are that if a younger individual maybe just past the years of full maturity for his race. Thick mutton chops cover his cheeks his hair pulled back in a large black braid. his eyes a burnt orange color. wearing a simple long jacket that covers to his boot heels and a collar that extends high up the back of his neck. Under the coat, he wears a vest with many pockets and a green long sleeve shirt, black pants, and boots. currently, he is not wearing any armor nor can anyone see any weaponry as this place is for study and a combat scenario has not presented itself. As the Unseen servants drift around he takes a couple biscuits and a drink for himself. His school of magic to most may not be too clear he may have already used some on them and they didn't notice. ;-)

Mordecai sits rather close to the fire, unfazed by it's heat and happily enjoying one of the biscuits, eschewing the glass of water and casting about for something with a little more spirit(s). He wears chain mail, and is using a maul of nearly his own height (4ft 8in) to prop up his elbow as he surveys the room. Even in the low natural lighting of this room, his eyes seem to squint out from underneath bushy brown eyebrows, matched by a short (for a dwarf) beard of the same color, shot through with errant grey hairs, set on a backdrop of dark grey skin. He looks around impatiently for Mordekainen, his eyes never quite ceasing to roam the room.
Having spent some time with him, you would know that Mordecai is a Duergar, the (some say) corrupt shadow brethren of the dwarves from the underdark. Chosen to master the school of necromancy, he has already displayed several other skills - particularly stonework, as, upon seeing the indentation Bankahn's head made in a tall doorway, he immediately set to work, pestering the unseen servants of the tower for a ladder and a bucket of plaster. Within an hour, the doorway was newly repaired - with two feet of extra headroom to accommodate the Loxodon's large head. Other than that, he has been impatient, often blunt to the point of being rude, and has kept a wary distance from Valentine, occasionally giving her a glare. This is not terribly out of the ordinary, however, as he has given most everyone a glare at this point.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
A tall, lanky, and indigo-skinned, hairless man was currently performing a juggling act using a couple of dragons, a foot stool, a dagger, and a few vials while walking around the room. Thus far, Yolov has managed to keep up the act with his tongue stick out the side of his mouth, and a smile. The Vedalken as always adorned himself as if ready to travel at a moment's notice with simple, loose fitting clothing starting from long-sleeved grey-blue tunic, brown pants, work man's gloves, suspenders, desert goggles, and traveler's boots. Every now and then, one can just hear him rambling as he went, speaking of things like Shiftweave, "Being so close", and "What if I used" that. The rest comes out as technical babble that the more astute of the group might double take over the ridiculousness of what had been implied.
Some things almost everyone likely knows about Yolov:
He is busy body. The number of times anyone have not seen him NOT working or doing something can be counted one hand. He happily accepts and offers assistance, and views any pranks as interesting challenges.
He almost never talks about himself personal: only his work, observation of others, places he's been, and places he hopes to acquire particular samples from. Any attempt to inquire has always been met in order with momentary confusion from him, followed by a jubilant re-direction of the subject matter.
There isn't a person in the room that Yolov hasn't visited on occasion to request samples from their bodies, or offer a sip of his latest concoctions. Though he always claims for them to be 100% safe, something inevitably goes wrong. Nothing so extreme as to be permanent or damaging... Though there was one time Jooor wound up turning completely pink, and stayed that way for a week and a half. Thankfully, the solution only required him to eat apples of all things to return normal.

There is a crackle of arcane energy within the room as sparks of energy flow in the area. A mystical gate opens in the room as the presence of Mordenkainen is made aware to everyone. The tall human man is garbed in his archmage's robe. His stern and serious look upon his face peers around the room while he looks to each of the party in turn. The wave of arcane energy begins to fade back into the usual levels for the magical tower as the unseen servants approach and take the pouch and cloak from the archwizard as he steps to in front of the fireplace.
"My apprentices." He speaks in a powerful voice as his piercing gaze seems to penetrate the minds of each present. "I believe it is time for you to progress from your initial training. Each of you has shown much growth in your specialist field, and there are many places that will need your magical capabilities. The first place I wish for you to go will be your graduation test. Return alive and successful, and you will be granted your position on this Circle of Eight." The archwizard gestures with a hand as appearing ahead of him is a strange apparatus that seems to show various mechanical wheels and cogs grinding together. "This is the outer plane known as Mechanus. It is the most lawful place within the realms. However, a small pocket of entropic beings have been located within its boundaries. Either dismiss them back to their home plane or destroy them; that is your first task."
Eyes focusing abruptly on the vision of shifting gears, Mordecai strengthen's his grip on the maul. "How have the locals reacted to the presence of such entities?" he growls, furiously chewing the remains of his biscuit. "And how will they react to our presence in the meanwhile?"
Mordenkainen looks to the grey dwarf. "Your job is just to eliminate this threat. Those native to the plane are highly lawful, and will be less tolerant of non-natives whom show no regard for their rules. They should not attack on site, but will be a threat should they witness you stepping out of place."
Valentine walks to the gnome and nudge Coseris as she sits down with him, very close. '' Heeey! what if we could do a little trick? combine magic together...then prank someone...hehe~ '' she whispers and making gestures with her fingers out in the room while drinking some water.
She stares occasionally at the other wizards, highly regards them as friends, as she see the archmage coming through, the drow calmly takes a few biscuits and eating them and then chewing slowly when she listening to Mordankainen's speech.
'' This sounds more fun~ ''she chuckles a little.

As Mordenkainen appears in the room Warx stands to show he is interested in what Mordenkainen has to say. Taking a closer look at the projection, he looks at the sage and says "If doing this will seal my fate as a member of the Circle of Eight, I will deal with whoever you need me to." He then steps back surveying his fellow wizards sizing them up as to their capabilities for the task ahead. Warx then shoulders his pack and mutters. "Let's get going then, I want to have this over with quickly."
