In the world of Eraas, two giant island continents comprise the majority of the population while a few smaller islands between them are home to the Xirin Dynasty, an unbroken lineage of one Dragonborn family dating back over 2000 years. . The eastern continent (Telgun) is comprised of 3 kingdoms: Thettarus, Lural, and Azuven. The western continent (Zhora) is home to four kingdoms: Mazar, Haemor, Eshan, and Drekthar (Orc/ Goblin). While most kingdoms celebrated a long period of peace and harmony, the Drekthar kingdom has caused ripples among them by waging war and spreading to the eastern continent. No one knows the reasoning behind this sudden aggression that started 3 years ago. Most suggest it is the natural bloodthirsty behavior of Orcs and goblins, others that it is some sort of dark magic. Tales of Orc and ogre zombie armies have reached the ears of many and continue to spread.

Name: Grunting Race: Kenku Class: Ranger Backround: Grunting was a simple hunting partner for his previous master, Terryn Serpentwind. A human hunter and protector of a small forest town inside Lural. Grunting helped him by alerting Terryn and maybe shooting an arrow or two in the various threats. but then, Terryn, in combat, passed away. Grunting was able to flea the enemies (which were a rival hunting party of goblins which is why he despises them). Going back to his town, he knew almost no-one and nothing. He gathered up his belongings, though they were few, and headed towards [city the party met at] Along the way he made a friend for life, Gump the Frog. He found him one day while going on his trek and they fell in love with each-other, becoming best friends in a day. Now that he has made it to this place. he is ready to find even more friends and find a purpose in life. Ability Scores: 14 17 15 13 16 13 (total and in order) Character Sheet: https://ddb.ac/characters/6829473/tzB2Ki
Wreckzors: Only question mark is the scale mail (metal) on a druid. If you can fit in why your're not opposed to wearing metal you're good to go.
It says that druids are proficient with medium armor, and I don't really plan to play him as a super defender of the forest type... he loves mold and fungus.. and that requires death and decay or living things, which after broken down promotes new life... so if he is trying to wear armor made of animals and wood, I imagine it wouldn't last real long before decaying.... All that being said, the scale mail can literally be made from the thick scales pulled from giant crocodiles and turtles and other creatures from the swamp... or just many overlapping pieces of hard wood tree bark if you prefer. I figure it wasnt like he was raised to have a great respect for nature.. he mainly wondered off in a swamp, inhaled and consumed lots of mushrooms and his family gave up looking for him and he had to raise himself and learned to really respect the circle of life and the role fungus plays... also... they may have messed with his mind some...
Near the eastern outskirts of the besieged Azuven kingdom sits the town of Riverwood, aptly named for is large supply of lumber which is transported via the River valley it sits in. The agricultural/ lumber town is surrounded by a wooden palisade with guard towers periodically stationed. There are three land entrances to the north, west and south. The palisade envelopes part of the river and a bridge connects the land separated by the river.
Your group has successfully killed a nomadic Gnoll tribe that had been encroaching on the local farms, killing livestock and torching fields. After camping for the night, you make your way towards the town and enter through the northern gate around mid day and head to the town hall to collect your reward. Once inside a clerk greets you and bids you to enter their office. Upon entering you notice a map on the wall showing all the kingdoms and the recent expansion of the Drekthar kingdom. You are congratulated for your success and receive a Bag of Holding as well as 120 gold for the group to share. The clerk leads you out of the office, preparing for the next item on their docket and you are instructed to make your way to the Riverboat Queen Tavern.
The Riverboat Queen tavern, which like many of the riverside buildings here also functions as a dock yard. As you enter the barkeep, a blue tiefling woman dressed in purple and red robes greets you. "Welcome travelers, the elder councilman instructed me to give you a round on the town's account for your help with the local farms." She points to a table located next to the open archway that leads to the dock. As you sit a waitress brings each of you a sweet mug of mead made from local honey. "I bet you're all hungry after a hard journey like that. Can I get you anything to eat?" ask the waitress.
Grunting, not being able to talk much, has a pen and paper with him constantly to tell people his thoughts. he makes a crude drawing of a few fruits and veggies and shows it to the Barmaid. Grunting always moves with a clatter. He has a backpack filled with various items and is lined with whistles for signaling and a few small bells. he collects trinkets and small knickknacks, such as most Kenku do.
When the group was about to walk into the tavern, Yera started discussing the split of the reward, "So, there's six of us so we should each get twenty gold from the total bounty. Sounds good?" As she was waiting on a response from the rest of the party, she heard the tiefling woman's offer and beamed with delight, "Ah! fantastic, give the good councilman my regards, ma'am"
Heading to the table in an excited half-jog, Yera takes her seat and stretches back on the chair, splaying her arms above her head and letting out a loud yawn. When the waitress comes with the drinks, the halfling clasps her hands and licks her lips with her eyes following the mug down from the waitress's hands down to the table. "Ha ha! Bless you, miss! I'll take a haunch of whatever you have roasting over in the kitchen if it's not too much"
"and one pork haunch" the barmaid adds with her head turned towards Nelith. "Pork haunches are 2 silver and a fruit & veggie platter will only cost a silver piece" turning back to Yera.
(I don't plan on grabbing much, but I can keep track of group loot until someone claims it? 120g is just 20 gold each, so you could add that to your sheet easy enough. The bag of holding just floating in group loot limbo. I'd love to throw a ram, portable in that though... once I buy one!!)
(I didn't beat Yera!)
"Might as well."Responding to Yera about the money, upon reaching the tavern Onyx grunted, gutteral and long as he sat at the table. Each movement followed by a soft clang similar to Grunting, though more from the weapons adorning his form than from bits of paper, writing utensils, and other forms of communication.
With his gray appearance and constant scowl, Onyx typically looked like someone not to be approached. Not having much time to remove his spiked armor not helping. He'd be sure to give his traveling companions a little space to avoid being pricked and poked.
Seeing the excitement of Yera over the mead, he'd push his mug toward her before looking to the waitress. "Do ye got anything stronger? And just a plate of meat. Bacon, sausages, ham..."
Digging two silver pieces out of her coin purse, Yera sets the coins down on the table, and utters a quick "Thank ya" before kicking back. And upon seeing Onyx so graciously bequeath his hard earned mead to her, she smiles and raises an eyebrow jovially, "Oh, well don't mind if I do". Yera downs her first mug of mead in no more than five seconds, habitually wiping her mouth with her arm, only to find none of the usual froth that comes from most other alcohol. While waiting for her food, she starts to doff her scale armor and leans her shield against her chair. Exposing her sweat stained undershirt with a waft of foul odor, she gives a long contented sigh of relief, "Ahhhhh, that felt good. Excellent work today, friends. Where do you think we're headed next?"
"But of course dear we have whiskey and hooch, both local of course. A glass of either will cost 5cp and the meat will be 2 silver. Be right back" the barmaid responds and heads over to the bar to pick up the previous orders and inform the barkeep of Onyx's order.
She returns with the fruit (berries of all sorts, a plum & an apple) and veggie platter (carrots, spinach and peas) for Grunting and a large pork haunch with two grilled ears of corn for Yera.
When the barmaid returns, "The whiskey will do fine, but I be needin an open tab, lass. A single glass just won't do." A wayward glance and turn of his nose would be given to Yera as Onyx waits for his order
Grunting feeds the apple and spinach to Gump and eats the Plum and carrots. and put's the rest in his pack. he takes out a map of the surroundings. He points to a random location right outside the woods "Squaa!"
