"Well, it seems Daegon is trying to mess with us. I say we mess back... Herbert, did Inara say how long she thought it would take before she returned?" Aryn says as she stuffs some bacon in her mouth and takes a long draft of ale.
"She suspects it will take the mages anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks. She did say that there may be some new refugees coming in the interim but they may arrive later." Herbert responds
"I was thinking we could cause some disruption down at the front. Maybe turn the tide a bit." Aryn responds to Gaelin then looks to Herbert. "Are there any parts of the front that are in need of dire help?"
"There are multiple locations on the front on both continents that require aid. There are also still roving bands of drekthar behind the lines. If you would like I can inquire to the generals and see which areas are in the greatest need. It will probably take a day to get all the information." Herbert responds.
"Actually, that's not a bad idea. I bet we could even convince Valeera to help as well. It would definitely boost morale. Yes, Herbert, Inquire away. We need to help this war come to an end as soon as possible so until Daegon rears his ugly face we should do as much as we can to help." Gaelin says.
"Aryn & Gaelin. We need to find others who know about Daegon and Aemyra. Their history specifically. I have not mentioned her in a while, but my goddess Davara is the goddess of power. Power comes from to places; fear & knowledge. It is obvious that Daegon has amassed power through fear by the power of Vaeril, but we do not know why Aemyra is here. We need to know where they came from and why they were Vaeril's choice. If we can learn their history and the reason they are who they are, we may can utilize that to our advantage. We may be able to ascertain this from the front lines, but where to start. That is the question. Hopefully Herbert's info can help."
While this is being said, you see Jinara with a look of intent and concern on his face. His eyes dart back and forth from Aryn and Gaelin as he speaks.
(Xtra told me to go back and skim through the campaign when I first joined and I remember Aemyra's semi-backstory being mentioned before I joined but couldn't remember all of it. The forums have a really cool search feature so i just searched for Aemyra and went back before I joined.)
Post: 1278- Jubilant: You think back on your reasearch of the gods specifically Vaeril when you get a brief memory. In one of the older manuscripts you’ve read about the elder gods and goddesses you recall the story of an attempt to resurrect Vaeril through the use of powerful necromantic spells. The necromancers attempting this were all killed except for one who managed to escape thanks to the sacrifice of the others delaying their assassins. The account of these necromancers took place over 300 years ago and the name of the escaped elven sorcerer was Aemyra. Aemyra was searched for all across Telgun but never found.
At the rememberance of Aemyra you recall varying accounts regarding attacks by a elven sorcerer. One involving an orphanage. None of the children or teens were seen again. Then a similar record of an attack on a nearby library where a young apprentice named Daegon was taken after his Master was slain by the dark sorcerer. Daegon Tenebris was the son of a noble in the local town and the father was quite distraught over the kidnapping of his son. All of these recent accounts took place within the Azuven empire roughly 30 years ago. It was feared Aemyra was behind these attacks but it was never confirmed.
Post: 1293- Everything you are about to hear is classified. If you divulge any of this information to non-authorized personnel you will be treated as an enemy of the Azuven empire and promptly detained or killed... As of 3 hours ago Daegon landed on the eastern shore of Telgun. We assume he teleported to a newly completed circle created by his mages near Rodesh. We don't know what purpose he has for moving to Telgun with the war still raging on Zhora. We know he is aided by one of the original necromancers of Vaeril named Aemyra. We aren't sure if she also traveled with him but either way Daegon even by himself is extremely dangerous. His augmented powers from Vaeril allow him to reach across continents but thankfully still have limits. None of our correspondents nor ones from the Haemor and Eshan kingdoms have been able to meet him face to face and survive long enough to report back with their findings. With Daegon now on Telgun we fear the battles at the front will become much more difficult. Haemor and Eshan were only able to achieve a standstill once they combined their efforts and dug in to the mountain ranges." The loxodon begins to paces back and forth for a few moments considering his next words carefully before halting and turning back to the group.
"I think we all want to bring Daegon down but none of us knows where to start. At least at the front we know we can be a benefit for others, but I agree and think the information Herbert gathers will help us decide the best path." Gaelin says.
"I am always ready to fight.... " Mucor would reply with a snort. "I might just be a little slower moving this morning... " He would say as he tries to stretch his back and arms... his charred and raw flesh still sore and exposed after nearly all of his hair was burnt away.
(OOC: After the long rest, I should be all healed as far as HP goes.. I was just RPing him still having no hair and burns and stuff if you wanted to save your spell :P Otherwise I am totally happy with the RP)
"If there is a fight to be had and there is a chance we can make an impact I say let's do it."
Zinmaer would start the day looking for a smaller chain for the amulet or someone who could adjust the current one and then spend a few hours trying to attune to it.
As Gaelin cast his spell, the new skin and healing wounds would disappear under a fresh new coat of fur.. softer than before and entirely clean. "Thank you friend!" The minotaur would say with a smile, placing his heavy hand on Gaelin's shoulder.
"Yes, we need to find people associated with him. Everyone they're fighting at the front is associated with him one way or another. I just think that every time we screw up his plans he seems to lash out at us in our dreams. The more we lash out the more he'll come at us, but every second he spends focusing on us is a second he's not focusing on Eraas. I'm fine with going covert and attacking high value targets but I just want to do something. After seeing those kids... we sat here for 2 weeks before we attacked the orphanage, how many kids died during those 2 weeks. Sure we helped out a couple towns but there are more orphanages, more people dying everywhere. We shouldn't be lounging around in our safe castle we need to be out there." Aryn says passionately. She pauses calming herself and continues. "I understand we have to wait to get information, I understand better than most if not all of you the value of precision. I was trained that all you need was one arrow for each target. Just one arrow placed in the perfect spot is all you need... Well sometimes precision takes too long and innocent people die."
(@gaelin. I tried the search feature and I couldn't get it to work. it was search ALL forums and threads and it got frustrating. Thanks!)
"I do not disagree agree with you Aryn. We have come into the moral duty of acting quickly to address these issues. Let's think about the front lines. We know armies do not command themselves. What if we could identify and locate the generals. Control or removal/replacement should have a significant impact on the front lines! And, along the way, we take out some bad guys." Jinara says. "I can make us resemble anyone! We can run a deception campaign to gain audience with the generals for either an assassination attempt or political coup."
(@Jinara-The arcanist is a pseudo artisan. She cannot be leveled individually like the blacksmith, miner, etc since she is tied to the tower.)
(@Zinmaer- I think I'm going to change that to - until the start of your next turn for simplicity.)
"Well, it seems Daegon is trying to mess with us. I say we mess back... Herbert, did Inara say how long she thought it would take before she returned?" Aryn says as she stuffs some bacon in her mouth and takes a long draft of ale.
"What did you have in mind sis?" Gaelin asks as he curiously peers at his sister.

Gaelin will go over to Mucor inspecting the scars and burns and cast Greater Restoration in an attempt to speed the healing process.
