"Hold tight, Milo, I'd rather you not fall into a stickerbush and inconvenience Shiloh." Baredark winks over at Shiloh and Kairon before jogging off after Nirev.
“Of course Shiloh, you know I’ve always got your back!” Kairon gives Shiloh a gentle slap on the back and starts off towards the woods right behind Milo. “Lead the way, laddy!”
(OOC: yeah, I thought it was funny we ended up with 3 sorcerers, lol. We’re a bit short on meat shields so I’ll see about beefing myself up a bit. Once I get enough gold for some better armor and a shield, I should be able to boost my AC to a pretty decent number. Assuming we can find a good blacksmith.)
"Wheeee!" Sweet Milo almost never gets to see the world from this tall, not even when standing on the roof of his parents' burrow. Taking to heart the wise Baredark's words, he keeps a watchful eye out for sticker bushes - his oldest and most formidable adversary.
Sanzu makes no sound as he joins the group. Despite him being a tall, bulky human, it's easy to forget he's there, due to his common silence. He hopes he doesn't spook them like last time (magic is less cool when it's used on you), however, he knows better than to leave them now. It would be his luck that the one time he doesn't follow, someone is in need of his help. Still, he should probably try to be a bit more social, for his and his friends' sake.
He tries to force himself to laugh at Sweet Milo's "Wheeee!", but it comes out as a grunt.

Kairos, knowing about Baredark’s “anger issues” gives him a light slap on the face and says, ”Baredark, get angry! You and Sanzu, with me! The rest of you, stay behind us!” He closes the 20 feet of distance with surprising agility, given his age, and begins channeling arcane energy. As he brushes his hands over his shoulders, Frost forms over the top of his armor. (He cast Armor of Agathys).
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(Sorry guys, I was in bed when this all went down!)
Shiloh's eyes sparkled at the sight of the buck... and then, when her half-drow eyes saw the dark outlines of four canid humanoids appear from within the woods and the sound of something landing in the dirt near her feet with a "THUNK"... she instinctively froze.
Gnolls. Four of them, at least... and there they were, in the dark. Shiloh could easily determine that they were there and what they were; gnolls had been a known menace to the locals.
So, when Kairos' tone changed from his usual, lazed relaxed nature to a serious and more commanding voice before invoking his magic, Shiloh shook herself from her shock at the sudden ambush and roused herself to put up a defense. She would run back about 15 feet behind the older and stronger of the boys plus man and take cover (just about 5 feet behind where Kairos was currently standing), poking her head and arm out just enough from behind Kairos before a chill took the air as she began to speak something in elventongue. Shiloh's eyes then briefly glowed a chill, snow white with some type of power, and with a sudden surge of blue and white light, a ray of impenetrable chill jutted out her middle and index fingers on extended left hand, taking aim right at the closest gnoll whose outline was visible with her darkvision (in this case, Gnoll 1).
The closest gnoll screams in pain. As he runs toward the buck for cover but hes not yet there... coming closer to your party ... dodging left and right trying to make it to the buck.... (gnoll 1 has 18hp)
(To make it quicker everone take your turn and then when everone went...the gnolls will attack... you have 26 trees that are 3 feet in diameter between you and the gnolls no bushes or rocks )
(I might multiclass Shiloh later on.)
(and you're all draconic! lmao)

"Hi Sanzu!" Shiloh happily chirps, smiling at him. "Are you coming with us? It seems we're being roped in rather effectively this evening."
(We sorcerers should talk before choosing spells. One of us should get Detect Magic and we don't need two sorcerers with sleep. Next level, I guess)
(I say play what you like .... if you have 3 sleep spells. That's good crowd control)
Sanzu nods at Shiloh. No, he should speak.
"Yes," is all he says.

Shiloh casts [Ray of Frost] to hit: 19
Damage, if it hits: 7

With that knowledge, I would say Kairon would end his turn with his back to a tree. :D
(Hiding behind trees give you advantage and disadvantage..
The gnolls will get a disadvantage to hit you, popping out only to hit or move tree to tree..
You will get a disadvantage to hit the gnolls... taking your eye off them to hide. They will move and try to flank you....
So hiding has it's advantages and disadvantages)
