Krolbrik, the two children are very visibly frightened. The little boy rubs away a tear in his eye and sniffles. The girl's lip quivers as she tries to put on a brave face. "We can't go back in there. The monster's angry, we heard it screaming."
Bala, they're just normal children, nothing shadowy about them.
Roux, the boy says, "I never seent it, but I heared it yellin'. It lives in the basement..."
Roux turns to the rest of the group with a firm expression and asks "I know you all didn't necessarily sign up for monster slaying, but I would like to help these two frightened kids. who's with me?"
"I will gladly bore my blades to this creature's form." Krolbrik looked to the others, looking them all up and down. "At least one or two of us should stay here and keep an eye on the children; I have an ill premomition about this fog."
Yesqirelle narrows her eyes from behind her hood, and channels the power of her god to see beyond the grave (Eyes of the Grave, senses the location of all undead within 60 feet that aren't behind total cover).

Ericina smiles at the mention of the monster. "If the monster is an orc I'll turn it inside out for you children. If not then maybe I can have a new friend if it is somekind of animal." She said this with a calm tone in her voice, her scimitar being drawn as she moved towards the house. "Come along strange cat we have to be brave." It still seemed she had not listened to his explanation of what a Tabaxi was.

As you all approach the house you can see in more detail. There is a wrought-iron gate with hinges on one side and a lock on the other fills the archway of a stone portico. The gate is unlocked, and its rusty hinges shriek when the gate is opened. Oil lamps hang from the portico ceiling by chains, flanking a set of oaken doors that are currently unlocked. The portico is a small 5 by 10 foot alcove before entering the house proper.
Ericina, as you push open the front doors of the house you are greeted with a grand foyer, 10 feet wide by 15 feet deep. Hanging on the south wall of the foyer is a shield emblazoned with a coat-of-arms: a stylized golden windmill on a red field. The shield is flanked by framed portraits of stony-faced aristocrats. Some of the paintings appear to be very old. Mahogany-framed double doors dominate the far wall of the foyer. They are set with panes of stained glass.
The children trail behind your group, but they refuse to go further than the portico. They are visibly shaken and huddle together in a corner watching the lot of you intently as you brave the house.
Adira crouches down to put herself on eye level with the little boy and smiles warmly. "No need for tears little one, we will help you... are your parents away from home?"

Yesqirelle, you don't see any signs of a beast here. In fact, this room is immaculate, no dust to be found and the floor has been oiled recently. The whole room appears well-maintained.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ericina gives the house a once over and frowns as if the very building itself had done something to personally offend her. In the back of her mind a clear picture of a very similar sight from her own childhood home flashed. She shook her head and moved a step or two more inside. "I don't like this place.... Soemthing not right about it." As she speaks she will glance around for anything out of place.
Investigation: 14

(Ah. I thought it might be considered survival, since it's kind of related to tracking. Kinda wish it was perception . . .wood elf clerics aren't exactly clueless :P.)

As a ranger, it is Aka's job to protect people from monsters like these. If this monster is threatening people, we'll happily take it out.

Haven’t used this account in forever. Still a big fan of crawling claws.
"You don't speak for me!" Bala hisses at Aka, still standing behind Krolbrik.

Yesqirelle, you look at the children and all around, you don't note the presence of any undead.
Yesqirelle slowly turns to stare at the house.
"This is not a good place. We should see what's wrong."

Yesqirelle will examine the room for any signs of a monster.
Perception? 18
Survival? 4
She'll also pull out a coin and cast light on it, giving it to any human or other such race without darkvision.

Ericina, same deal. Nothing is out of place. But in contrast to the rundown exterior, the inside of this room is almost immaculate.
Adira continues to talk to the children, "You said it lives in the basement? Could you tell us how to get down there?"

Krolbrik would stay close by to the children, trying his best not to frighten them with his big orange face.
