"I hate you all...I hate you all..." Bala whispers to himself, frantically looking about the house at the slightest creak. Stealing from roughnecks and guards is one thing...but a monster? He's not fit to be fighting those!

Ericina loses interest when she finds thst nothing is out of place as far she can tell, her eyes going towards where she though Bala was. When she ntoiced that the tabaxi had disappeared from her sight she pouts more and looks back towards the children. "Basement you say? To the basement then!" She says as she waits to see who will join her.

Krolbrik, all around you is eerie silence. The only thing you can see from outside the house is the wall of mist slowly rolling into town, obscuring the tall dark buildings as it pours through.

(Gonna start using these maps so you guys have some reference. Yeah, also for future reference if you have heavy armor you get disadvantage on stealth.)
Adira, you push open the double doors and emerge into wide hall that runs the width of the house, with a black marble fireplace at one end and a sweeping, red marble staircase at the other. Mounted on the wall above the fireplace is a longsword with a windmill cameo worked into the hilt. The wood-paneled walls are ornately sculpted with images of vines, flowers, nymphs, and satyrs. The decorative paneling follows the staircase as it circles upward to the second floor.
There are several doors connecting this main hall to other rooms on this floor. The room is dark, but the light from Vesqirelle's coin fills the room mostly with bright light and the rest with dim. All is silent except for the clink clank of Krolbrik's armor and the sounds of Adina's boots against the polished wood floors.
(No math involved in disadvantage. You just roll twice and take the lower roll. On here, you can just type 1d20da or select the disadvantage option on computer and it will do it for you.)

Ericina will walk into the room after Adira, happily using the light from the coin to look around the strange house. "So should we go into one of the rooms or uo the steps?" She asks as she points at the doors, her hand moving between them as if she would pick one through the use of a childish game.

Adira stares at the beautiful wall panels in wonder. She's never been inside a house this nice before. She turns when Ericina speaks, "Well, if this thing is in the basement the way down should be here on the ground floor right? Lots of doors though..."
(Ericina and Adira are in the big room. You are on the small portico with the children. Everyone else is still in the foyer, the 3x2 room just beyond the portico. Also to note is that this map is oriented so that North is actually left, not up)

Bala would keep his nose to the ground, tapping his fingers on the walls as he searched the house, staying away from the basement. A place this nice should have a lot of shiny things. Since he didnt want to be here, he may as well take something in interest.

Realizing he was clanking like a kitchen, Krolbrik would stop shifting around and look about himself; whoever had owned this house was clearly of considerable wealth, from what he could tell of a cursory glance, but maybe there was something he had missed?
Bala, so far there have only been a few items of note to be found in the two rooms you have explored. There was a shield with a windmill crest emblazoned on it hanging in the foyer and a longsword with a windmill cameo mounted above the fireplace. As you trace along the walls with your fingers you begin to look a little closer at the motifs worked into the wood paneling. Among the vines, flowers, nymphs, and satyrs you see serpents and skulls inconspicuously woven into the designs.
You're not sure how exactly to stay away from the basement, as there is no stairs down to be seen.
Krolbrik, from a glance, there's nothing in these rooms that stands out to you as particularly odd. Only that everything in the main hall is, like the foyer, immaculate and free of dust.

Since it seems to be the only way forward into the house, Adira will draw her rapier and cautiously open the double doors.

Krolbrik, all around you is eerie silence. The only thing you can see from outside the house is the wall of mist slowly rolling into town, obscuring the tall dark buildings as it pours through.
Simultaneously satisfied yet uneased by the eerie, un-natural silence outside, Krolbrik turns to the children.
"Little ones... you seem to know your way well enough. Stay safely here in this doorway, and do not leave the house. We will be back to check on you."
And with that, Krolbrik went to follow his comrades as quietly as he could manage.
Stealth: 4
(Sounds about right. Although, you'd have disadvantage because of heavy armor.)

Aka, they shake their heads and reiterate that they've never seen the monster before. Only that it lives in the basement.
Ah, Ok. Hm. Well, Let's look around. (Where exactly are we on the map?)
