Aka readys his long bow and charges to the unopened doors, and opens them. He takes a look around. Hmm. Now where is that basement?
(By doors I mean those doors we haven't opened yet in the foyer. or those that lead to the giant black space at the bottom., assuming there are doors there. Investigation:21 )

Thats...disturbing." Bala was no artist, but he had a sickining feeling that whoever commissioned this wanted those there. It'd probably go for a bit of coin. Bala would attempt to take one of the paintings off the wall.
(I'll do slight of hand as to not make any noise doing it)
(The foyer is the 2x3 room, those doors have already been opened they lead to the main hall, the 3x6 room. There are many doors branching off from there. Bala, these are wood paneling, not paintings.)

Roux will follow taking out a bit of phosphorescent moss and casting light on his cloaks clasp. Attempting to see any way to get to the basement. Maybe a servants quarters or something similar.
Feeling a bit frustrated that he was finding more questions than answers, Krolbrik would stride over to the bottom of the stairwell in the main hall and look up to try and see what he he could from there; while the main danger was likely under his feet, there was always a chance of real dangers coming from above them, as well.
Yesqirelle and Ericina, you notice out the corner of your eye a particularly sticky-fingered (sticky-pawed? sticky-clawed?) cat attempting to swipe the longsword from above the fireplace. Bala, nobody else notices as you take down the longsword and tuck it away.
Krolbrik, you don't sense anything moving above you. The whole house it seems eerily silent.
Roux, you silently open the well-oiled northeastern door and beyond it you see a well-made dining room. The centerpiece of this wood-paneled dining room is a carved mahogany table surrounded by eight high-backed chairs with sculpted armrests and cushioned seats. A crystal chandelier hangs above the table, which is covered with resplendent silverware and crystalware polished to a dazzling shine. Mounted above the unlit, marble fireplace is a mahogany-framed painting of an alpine vale. The wall paneling is carved with elegant images of deer among the trees. Red silk drapes cover the windows, and a tapestry depicting hunting dogs and horse-mounted aristocrats chasing after a wolf hangs from an iron rod bolted to the south wall.
Aka, beyond the door on the western wall is an oak-paneled room that looks like a hunter’s den. Mounted above the fireplace is a stag’s head, and positioned around the outskirts of the room are three stuffed wolves. Two padded chairs draped in animal furs face the unlit hearth, with an oak table between them supporting a cask of wine, two carved wooden goblets, a pipe rack, and a candelabrum. A chandelier hangs above a cloth-covered table surrounded by four chairs. Two cabinets stand against the walls as well.

Sighing heavily at the eerie silence, Krolbrik went back to pace in front of the fireplace.
Two children, an eerily silent and dark house, not so much as a scent or sound to be had... come to think of it, wasn't it near to the dinner hour? Why were these children living in darkness? Why wasn't there even the hints of food in the air?
"I do not know what it is, but something about this building is not natural... there is too much out of place here," He mumbled to his comrades.
Ah, They must be great hunters too! Loom at these trophies! I've killed better, but only with help. Out of interest, Aka goes up those stairs and continues to look around. 12

"This is compensation and you are not my mother!" Bala huffs, strolling over to the dining room, eyes immediately snapping to the silverware. "Oh yes~." He pockets a few spoons and forks, and then he notices the framed painting above the fireplace. "Ah! Now that looks expensive!" He climbs the fireplace, carefully taking the painting off the wall.

Yesqirelle will move into the large room, listening for any sounds or other signs of danger.

(There are five doors, they are the white boxes on the map. I need to know which you're opening.)

Roux, without opening any doors you do not see any possible way to get to the basement.
Yesqirelle, you do not hear or see anything that poses a threat or is out of the ordinary. Only the sound of your party exploring the room.
(the one door that leads to the black space on the bottom, sorry. I couldn't tell what were doors.)

(Is the fireplace lit at all?)
Roux will slowly open the northeastern door and peer inside partially covering the clasp with one hand to try and dim the light a little.

“Baka, that is not yours.”
Even though he can’t see Yesqirelle’s face, Bala can feel the disapproval radiating off of her.
