Tupoc takes in the scene, new “allies”, and information in silence. Finally, a “voice” rings out in the heads of all scattered throughout the chamber, although no real sound is produced. “We will do what must be done.” He uncorks a small censer-like bottle, and scented smoke begins to pour from it, filling space (as described by the Eversmoking Bottle). “I suggest that we all meditate on what is to come. Either what we must do or what must be done to us.”
"First off, It's less a matter of trust then need out of respect for your individual strengths. "Can you please cork that for a moment, or.. move.. over there.. somewhere. For now."He motions the half-snake, half-man, half-bird off to the side. "... *ahem*... Where was I? Oh yes. "And aside from clear arrogance, I do not suppose you could speak of any other weakness of this Lysanderoth? At least any that you can remember."

The snake-bird-man hybrid neither opens his eyes or moves. "If it bothers you so much that you insist..." Aloud comes a singuar spoken word in celestial, and the bottle's cork comes flying back into place.
"Lysanderoth was a powerful sorcerer centuries ago, and the leader of our party. His gift has changed him immensely. Nothing I could tell you would apply, I'm certain. As for your request on the gnome's treasure... very well." Mumed says, nodding to Sparklegem. In turn, the old gnome responds: "Let me see your map, if you kept any... I'll mark it in there."
Xavier responds to the follow up question: "No rules of engagement. After the rest, once we all agree to begin, we shall do exactly that. We must fight for our lives, as explained before. The most we can do is promise not to hit you once you are down, if we ever get to that point. Unless, of course, you want to ride the Reincarnate roulette again. If so, let us know now."
Baern adds: "If they can't beat us, we should beat them instead. Perhaps their next incarnations will be stronger. We'd reset and try again. Everyone wins."
Ingus half agrees: "A dangerous game, but the dwarf is not entirely wrong."
With a strange smile on his face, Milo concludes: "We shall meet in an hour then. Beat us or your next forms will have to step up."
Sparkelgem gets the sketch from Yessaris and begins marking it. The party settles around Tupoc's bottle to rest, but the magical bauble is corked shortly after. The rest is not interrupted.
(@All: Please go ahead and take your short rest. Roll HIT DICE in this thread, if you feel the need to roll any at all. Identify/Attune to any items you need to. Also, level up time! If you get the chance to chose prepared spells during a long rest only, I'll say that this time you can go ahead and do it over a short rest, since you'll be leveling up to 17th level. Note that I am notsaying that you will regain spell slots. Let me know once you are ready to go.)
Yessaris scoffs. "I think I prefer /not/ to ride that wheel again. If I cannot defeat you as I am, then those lesser souls will have an even harder time."He states mysteriously. Once sparkelgem is done, he looks it over during the short rest, committing what he could to memory before slipping it away. Though tempted to ponder the mystery further, he finds a spot a short distance from the others to complete it.
Then a thought occurs followed by a heavy sigh. "It is necessary."He mutters as he rose once more to converse with the rest, and get a better feel of their capabilities. Depending what is expressed freely, he makes the following suggestions. Most in hushed tones.
Tupoc should kill Abe's familiar or Barney after its summoning to bolster himself. (Touch of Death) - (S/N: If Abe doesn't have material to re-summon his familiar, then go for barney) Nox should be at least ready to immediately unleash her divine power from the start(Necrotic Shroud), and/or Hound of Ill Omen(lasts 5 minutes)(focused on Milo or Sparklegem). If Abe(Hydra) does not mind expending the spell slot, Flock of Familiar(bats or owls) with a focus of using the help for any ally(namely Graxx and Nox) advantage on 1st attacks. It is also suggest Abe does not fly higher than 60 to 80ft to avoid severe falling damage if knocked unconscious/out of the air. He should also initiate with Blink as a precaution.
Milo, Sparklegem, and Ingus are top priority in Yessaris opinion. In addition, if unable to take out all at once, aim attacks towards knocking them unconscious after weakening them for the sake of the key. If one of their other members reveal themselves to be a cleric or the like, priority changes to them, and Graxx should focus on them or Milo if Nox doesn't summon the hound on Milo.
In addition, and it is with some hesitation on his part, if someone wishes to use his ring of protection, he will give to them to attune to while he reattaches and attunes to a gem on his pistol.
Towards the end of the short rest, and as a means of final preparations, he turns a minute dial on his ring causing a field of yellow energy to spread around him, projecting a familiar Aura of Purity, and granting those nearby a certain vitality. And a few select pieces of gold are imbued with certain commands words. One he keeps on hand, a second to Barney, and a third he entrust to Selhrac alongside a "Just keep hold of it for now. Just in case."
At 1st level, you learn how to invest a spark of magic in objects that would otherwise be mundane. To use this ability, you must have thieves’ tools, tinker’s tools, or other artisan’s tools in hand. You then touch a Tiny nonmagical object as an action and give it one of the following magical properties of your choice:
Whenever tapped by a creature, the object emits a recorded message that can be heard up to 10 feet away. You utter the message when you bestow this property on the object, and the recording can be no more than 6 seconds long.
Abe spends a few hit dice during the rest, and near the end he casts Flock of Familiars to summon a set of three owls. The first flies to Graxx’s shoulder, the second to Nox’s, and the third hovers near Tupoc before the couatl grabs it, says a quick blessing in celestial, and ends it’s short lived life (Tupoc gains 22 temporary hitpoints from Touch of Death). Lastly, once the rest ends but before the fight begins, Tupoc will cast Bless on Nox, Selrahc, and Graxx.
Nox will ready her Necrotic Shroud and release before they or the other party enter the room, also leaving a 10 feet gap with the rest so they won't get hit with it and leaving her horse 15 feet infront of her.
(@All: Alright folks, we jump straight into the fight after this post. This time around, I decided to play with initiative a bit. We'll still roll for it but I'll force a member of a party to take their turn in between two members of the other party. I am doing this because otherwise, this fight would be a total nightmare for me to go through, controlling 6 full NPCs and still maintaining my once-a--day posts. I know it is not ideal but I ask that you understand my limitations.)
The group finishes their preparations and planning, while their counterparts do the same. Everyone takes their places and with a nod, everyone signals that they are ready. The veil of the standard stone chamber around you falls, revealing a new room that will serve as your arena. Whether this new room or the old featureless one is the illusion, is hard to say at first... Sparklegem giggles.
Nox Reaction: Nox realease her necrotic shroud, a green glow in gasious form quickly surrounds her. Owl CHA DC 19: 17frightened from Nox until the end of Nox turn. Shortly after releasing it gather back on both her arms giving a green glow from hand to her elbow.
"Hn. So he truly does specialize in Illusions then. An interesting challenge." He says flatly while drawing his repeater pistol. "Activate Warding Matrix. Target: Unit Barney."He says to the gun, causing it whir and sigils upon it glow with their own dull blue light. Something in barney resonates as the glow reaches him, causing his eyes to glow and a faint shimmering mist to begin pouring out of its system. With that out of the way, Yessaris marches just far enough forward and out of the way to crack off two shots at Milo before moving elsewhere.
Knowing its master's will, Barney starts its own march forward and elsewhere with eyes gleaming with malicious intent at the opposing party. And yet, it is careful in its approach, seeming posed to evade at a moment's notice.
Movement(Yessaris): To BW-11, (attacks), then BV-11.
Action: Yessaris takes the Attack(Both Shots on Milo).
Nox unleashes her skeletal wings and her hands become aglow. The owl accompanying Nox becomes frightened.
Yessaris preps both his gun and Barney, before stepping a bit forward and shooting Milo twice. The nimble halfling dodges the first shot and and half-dodges the second. You can tell by his reaction time that he has faced firearms before, as he does not act surprised at all (Milo takes 7 magical piercing damage).
(@Grx: You are pretty nimble yourself. If you are willing to spend your reaction to succeed a DC 20 insight check, I'll give you some info on Milo. In fact, you have "marked" Milo in a way. You can repeat this check anytime Milo does something in battle and you have a reaction to spare. Each success grants you a new piece of information on the enemy.)
Barney also moves forward and is protected by Sanctuary. Yeassaris takes a step to the side.
Ingus steps backward {BS34} while taking a drag of his cigarette: "I know a thing of two about pistols too, snake man." He Hunter's MarkYessaris and fires five times in rapid succession from both of his handguns:
-> Pistol vs. Yessaris: Attack: 28 Damage: 13 piercing.
-> Pistol vs. Nox: Attack: 28 Damage: 16 piercing.
-> Pistol vs. Owl next to Nox: Attack: 16 Damage: 14 piercing.
-> Pistol vs. Graxx: Attack: 26 Damage: 13 piercing.
-> Pistol vs. Nox's Warhorse: Attack: 30 Damage: 15 piercing.
Every bullet finds its mark. Yessaris is hit on the shoulder (13 piercing damage), Nox is hit in the forearm (16 piercing damage), and Graxx is hit on the thigh (13 piercing damage). Nox's Warhorse is hit on the neck and is in rough shape (15 piercing damage). The owl explodes in a puff of feathers that quickly then puff themselves into some fey sprinkles (14 piercing damage -> DEFEATED).

Graxx can't see clearly from this distance and he knows the plan. He uses his Feline Agility to double his movement speed and then uses his bonus action to dash to CD,25 where he will slash out at Milo with his Rapier.
