Yessaris gives out his orders and attempts to help out his companions who are in the thick of battle. An acid explosion takes over the southwest corner of this chamber, engulfin a handful of enemies. The artificer also notices that the acid is stopped by a cube-shaped barrier, preventing it from ever reaching those entrapped.
-> DEX saving throw {DC 18}:
Mumed: 13
Sparklegem: 20
Two Animated Bolts: 11, 6
Mumed raise his trusty shield well in advance, though some splashes still burn his arms (Mumed takes 12 acid damage). Sparklegem on the other hand takes a full splash to his side. He finds just enough time to mitigate some of the damage with a Absorb Elements spell, but some of the damage was already done (Sparklegem takes 12 acid damage). Two more of the Animated Bolts are destroyed by the acid (they take the full 25 acid damage and are DEFEATED - three Animated Bolts remain, two of which are caged with Tupoc and Graxx.)
-> Concentration checks for Mumed and Spaklegem, respectively {DC 10}: 22, 12
Attorney fights a bit against his fear. It is enough to move closer to Milo, albeit slowly. Before too long, fear takes a tighter grasp of him again. The construct takes 20 psychic damage while in the process of repairing itself for 14 HP. (on net, Attorney takes 16 psychic damage).
Y-Horse/Defendant continue to dodge. Yessaris moves to {BS13}. Attorney is now at {BU20}.
(@Ori: Just to be clear here, Attorney is not currently set to jump in with a reaction Pounce as per the wording you have in your post.)
Baern takes a deep breath, calming himself. He then grabs the fabric tied around his waist as a sash with one hand (same hand as the one non-threateningly holding his axe at the moment) and mimes the action of opening a door with the other. In a blink of an eye, the dwarf vanishes, and then reappears right behind Abe at {CA8}.
"The bard has attempted to trap me like this many a time before... " He says, referencing Xavier's tricks.
(Graxx and his horse are up next. Please recall that they are both trapped within a Forcecage.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Graxx attempts to move himself and his horse toward Mumed after seeing him heal Xavier. Upon realizing he has been trapped he turns to mockery.
Graxx turns to Xavier
"Release me from this prison so we may conduct proper battle, Bard!"
Action Graxx will use Panache on Xavier: Persuasion Check vs Insight. Persuasion: 21
Panache SCAG, pg. 47
As an action, you can make a Persuasion check contested by a creature’s Insight check.
On success, a hostile creature has disadvantage on attack rolls against targets and can't make opportunity attacks against targets other than you for 1 minute, or until one of your allies engages it or it gets more than 60 ft. from you. If it isn't hostile, it is charmed by you for 1 minute.
EDIT: I believe Reliable Talent shoudl make the persuasion roll 27:
Reliable Talent (Special)
Whenever you make an ability check that lets you add your proficiency bonus, you can treat a d20 roll of 9 or lower as a 10.
The half-elf snaps his head back, looking at Graxx with disdain. He responds: "Even if I wanted to, so I could smash your face in, I couldn't. Lucky you."
Nox rushes away with her horse, but not before Milo attempts to stab her in the back. Attorney pounces in front of him while trying to aid Nox's escape:
-> Nox's concentration check with Bless {DC 10}: 27
Attorney slams onto the ground, dislocating the air around it. The shock-wave forces Milo to balance himself on just one leg (Milo takes 5 force damage), but that proves to be enough for the skilled halfling to still stab Nox's gelatinous body (Nox takes 7 magical piercing damage).
While riding on her horse, Nox aims a Disintegrate ray at the cage imprisoning her allies, but Xavier quickly plays a chord on his instrument to immediately Counterspell (upcast) the destructive ray. Nox replies with her own Counterspell and the invisible cage is destroyed amidst sounds of glass breaking (reference).
Graxx, his horse, and Tupoc are now free.
N-Horse then does a last whinny and explodes after taking 13 psychic damage.
Edit: I'm saying that Sanctuary drops from Attorney, as his reaction directly damaged Milo (counts as aggressive action).
Spaklegem advances to {BW27} with a mischievous smirk on his face. He puts his tongue out, biting it with the corner of his mouth, and grabs a pebble from deep within his pockets. Using a loose fabric strap from his misaligned robes, he launches it at Attorney while screaming: "Aim for the gears!"
-> Sling vs. Attorney: Attack: 15Damage: 10 magical bludgeoning.
As expected from someone who almost never fights with weapons, the pebble flies off in a random direction, landing on a pile of salt somewhere in the distance... Regardless, the gnome looks proud and satisfied with his accomplishment.
Milo gives Sparklegem an extremely frustrated look: "Are you serious, old man?"
Edit: Some of Yessaris' acid continues to burn Sparklegem, though his protections are still up (Sparklegem takes an additional 6 acid damage).
Selrahc gives a snarl to Mumed's words. His grip on his maul gets tighter as he channels the anger he holds inside. He just wants to be free from this cycle of life and death. He wants to be free from this prison of constant pain and suffering. He wants to go back home.
((Here is the Wisdom save for Mumed's Sanctuary: 7))
For his reaction he will use his Retaliation barbarian feature. Here is the roll for that: Attack: 15 Damage: 18
((Oh a crit on that third attack! Nice. Hopefully I can break through the sanctuary... doubt it but here are the Brutal Crit dice: 628 totalling: 25 damage. I don't remember if I add any modifiers so I will just not add them. But if I do, it's either a +10 (+6 from STR, +4 from rage) OR, since I did GWM a +20 (+6 from STR, +4 from rage, +10 from GWM)
(@Superbad: You forgot to add Bless dice to the attack rolls as well. Here they are, in order: 1, 3, 3. Also, the additional damage from Brutal Critical is just 3d6, not 3* 2d6, and no modifiers are added. That means your additional damage there is just 15, not 25.)
Selrahc grasps his maul tight and raises it high. He thinks about bringing it down on Mumed's head, but the cleric's soft-spoken tone forces the Xorn-hybrid to hesitate for a moment (i.e. the first attack does not pierce through Sanctuary).
That moment is quite brief, however. Remembering what is at stake and simply wanting to finally be free of the curse of The Trials, Selrahc opens his mouth in a liberating warcry. He watches as Mumed's expression changes from a serene one to a terrified one. Selrahc's muscles tighten as Mumed's grip on his shield begins to go slack. As the magical maul comes down in a flash, Mumed somehow finds the will to snap his whip, forcing the two weapons to clash and the trajectory of the former to change just enough for it to hit the cleric's shield (i.e. Mumed enhances his AC with his reaction, successfully blocking the second attack).
Finally having enough of his foe's tricks, Selrahc grabs Mumed's face, his arm snapping like a viper. The force is such that the human cannot avoid loosening his grasp on the whip. He desperately tries to pry Selrach's hand off his face to no avail. The barbarian raises Mumed off the ground, and with one hand on his weapon, swings it with all his might. The maul's stone head crashes into Mumed torso violently. The plates upon plates of armor all cave in and the sound of ribs being split open reverberate loudly. Selrahc can feel the man's worm blood splash against his hand, currently clenched around the cleric's face (i.e. third attack goes through and crits; Mumed takes a 48 magical bludgeoning damage).
-> Mumed's concentration check {DC 24}: 11 - he drops the spell... and it was a big one too!
Selrahc lets the gasping cleric fallback onto the ground. He limps, but is still standing.
-> Hand Crossbow vs. Y-Horse/Defendant: Attack: 16Damage: 15 magical piercing.
A couple of minor pieces get pulled out of Attorney as the blade is retracted after the attack (Attorney takes 8 magical piercing damage).
Defendant chooses a spectacularly appropriate moment to start rearing, successfully avoiding the flying bolt in the process.
Milo spits on the floor and runs over to {BS14}, stepping over the pit as if it were solid ground. Milo is now right on Yessaris' face. Yessaris' attempt to understand Baern's escape trick is interrupted by Milo's arrival (i.e. insight check fails).
Abe runs 30 feet directly away from the barbarian. “That’s nice! Sorry to leave you with just that sentence, but I’ve got to run!”After arriving at CA14, he turns back around and waves. “Nice seeing you!“ He then attempts to send the dwarf away with Banishment.
Baern opens a gash on Abe's back (Abe takes 30 magical slashing damage). The pain is so intense, it stops the cleric on its tracks. He is not able to move and remains on {CA9}. Still trying to get rid of the dwarf, Abe points at him and casts Banishment:
-> Abe's concentration check {DC 15}: 12 - Bless is dropped from Abe, Yessaris, and Nox.
-> Baern's CHA saving throw {DC 19}: 19
The dwarf lack of fear in battle is enough to bat the spell away. He remains where he is, saying: "Sometimes, it pays off to stay calm... not for long, though."
From somewhere beyond the northern wall, you hear a couple more gunshots:
-> Pistol vs. Yessaris(Mirror Image roll: 8): Attack: 20Damage: 15 piercing. (The attack is not supposed to have advantage due to the Alert feat. The actual attack roll is is 15).
-> Pistol vs. Yessaris: Attack: 30Damage: 13 piercing. (The attack is not supposed to have advantage due to the Alert feat. The actual attack roll is is 22).
The first is poorly aimed, as is the second. but the second hits Yessaris right in the chest (Yessaris takes 13 piercing damage). A brief second passes before vines and leafs begin sprouting from the bullet wound, attempting to grip the artificer tightly:
-> Yessaris' STR saving throw {DC 20}: 22
The artificer quickly burns the roots away with some sort of tiny contraption, and the vines shrivel.
NOTES: You now know more about your opponents so some of their preparations will show in the tracker above (check OOC chat). Some other enemies' preparations will remain unknown until you learn more about them. Yet some other won't even have a generic tab in the tracker above.
Tupoc grins as the cage around them is hit. "Graxx. You handle the bard. The barbarian and I will take the cleric." Another set of strikes come from the hybrid, the first aimed at a ball-bearing and the rest at the Mumed. Each strike against the healer will count as a stunning strike (until he fails the save, at least). If the ball-bearing dies, then Tupoc's stash of Temp HP is reset to 23 (Touch of Death).
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Tupoc delivers some strategic pointers to Graxx and snaps one of the hovering Animated Bolts around him (it takes 9 magical bludgeoning damage and is DEFEATED). The demi-couatl feels some energy fill his veins (restoring his pool of 23 temporary HP).
Tupoc easily ignores whatever protective magic Mumed has set around him, and pummels the cleric repeatedly. Recently battered by Selrahc, Mumed cannot defend himself (Mumed takes a total of 30 magical bludgeoning damage).
-> Mumed's CON saving throw vs. Stunning Strike (DC 19): 12
-> Mumed's CON saving throw vs. Stunning Strike (DC 19): 7
Mumed's pupil's go all white, as he bobs and weaves.
Still looking at Graxx, Xavier keeps moving away and playing a calming tune on his instrument. He ends up at {CD20}, and by the time he arrives there his tune is also over.
-> WIS saving throw {DC 19}:
