"Yes, something is not right." As Estellen begins his ritual Quilqwen nods. He finds a space that clear and start moving his staff around as if drawing on the floor. Those that look notice the wood of the floor boards seems to warp slightly as his staff passes over it. as he continues this for a bout 10 minutes the warping becomes more distinct as if the wood is forming the lines of the sigils he traces with his staff. He suddenly stops standing in the middle of his work Nimh agus galar a bhrath the sigils flare with energy that seems to cling to the Aarakocra and move up his body to his eyes. Eyes that now glow faintly as he moves back towards Strife, though staying 15 feet or so away. After looking over the tiefling he moves around looking at everyone else in the room and all over the room itself. then goes out and heads towards the temple. "I am going to have a look at the temple. See if there is anything more to be learned there."
(Casting detect poison and disease as a ritual. Will first check Strife then everyone else in the inn. Then the temple, If I can't get there and look it over I will recast it once I get there.)
Violet stays quiet, but pulls out that arcane focus she found and closes her eyes, channeling her innate powers through it to try to get a read on who/what is causing this, and where it's coming from.
Doc will keep his eyes peeled for anything strange in their immediate vicinity, then later accompany Quilqwen to the temple. "We best use the buddy system this time, Quil. Wouldn't want what happened at the enemy's camp to happen again."
"Yeah seem something was brought along." Jatrin will his paladin divine sense wondering if he can sense something with it.
Divine Sense
As an action, you can detect good and evil. Until the end of your next turn, you can sense anything affected by the hallow spell or know the location of any celestial, fiend, undead within 60 ft. that is not behind total cover. You can use this feature 4 times per long rest.
Tailine will tell Strife everything, continuing to speak in Infernal.
She tells him about finding the smoldering church with Jartrin, tracking down the ones who started the fire (the elf and the turtle-man who are currently in the room), arriving at the orc camp, and witnessing the terrible creature come forth.
"Those of us who saw what happened at the Orc camp have been trying to piece together everything that has happened. I was asking questions trying to determine if the slaughter at the church and the Orc attack were connected when you got here." She will pause for a moment, "The turtle and the bird treated your wounds. It has not been a full day since you arrived, so not much time has been lost."
Detect Magic: A faint glow on the Estellen's and Quilqwen's staffs, to be expected as they are used to focus magic. A larger glow from a large crystal that lies on the table in front of Violet. The crystal looks like a solid version of the sphere that engulfed the Orc camp. Around the edges it glows blue/red/purple, a strange colour or something like it that you've never seen before. There's also something being carried by Strife, but is hidden behind clothing/armour.
Detect Poison and disease: In the inn, there is nothing. At the temple there is the faintest hint of something in the air, a few errant spores of some unknown disease. (nothing dangerous though)
Divine Sense: You sense nothing.
Tailine: Strife glances at Quilqwen and Doc, then back to you. (continuing in Infernal) "Healing that is free of cost is... appreciated. But I have more ways than you may know to avoid death." He pauses for a moment."Well that means the bastards are damn fast then..." He takes another swig from the bottle. "I left to meet with an old friend, a Half-Orc that hunts in the wilds around here. He'd sent me a message about the appearance of... someone... An old hunt. Shortly after I met him, we were attacked. I'm not sure what they were, but they are hard to kill. Even the slightest touch can cut through flesh, bone, or metal with ease." He indicates his stump and the broken sword, "As you can plainly see. They had no shape, no form, and came out of the darkness as if they were the darkness given form."

Wondrous Item, rare (requires attunement by a warlock, a sorcerer or a wizard)
A large rough cut onyx gem that seems to pulse with energy, much like that of a heart.
While holding this crystal, you gain a +1 bonus to spell attack rolls and to the saving throw DC’s of your warlock, sorcerer, and wizard spells.
In addition, every enemy you kill with a spell cast using this crystal grants a permanent +1 bonus to damage for spells cast through this crystal.
All spells cast through this crystal deal void damage instead of their regular damage type. (this may stop other abilities of spells cast taking effect)
Once attuned, this can be used as an arcane focus for spells.
"There are some kind of spore here that causes disease. We should find what they did with the bodies and check anyone who may have been exposed. Tailine mentioned a girl." Quilqwen leaves the temple and starts asking around after the girl who was trapped in the fire.
Estellen walks over to Violet to whisper to her, "I do not think you know what you are doing with that, and that could be dangerous. Not only to yourself, but to everyone else in this tavern and perhaps the rest of the world. You are playing with something far more dangerous than fire, here."

Violet opens a single eye and glares silently at Estellen, "........hmph." She smacks the crystal lightly against the table, almost as if berating it before putting it away. After that she just crosses her arms and focuses inwards on herself, trying to see if that thing messed with her at all.
Quilqwen, Doc: No-one you talk to seems to know of a girl trapped in the fire. (in terms of bodies, their heavily charred remains are still within the temple)
Violet: It does not appear to have affected you in any way.
"Is all of it connected then?" Tailine mumbles in Infernal, more so thinking out loud then actually asking a question. "But what is it and how do we stop it? And where is it going next?"
If this shadow monster was able to do this to Strife, then she was woefully unprepared for what they were facing.

"I'm sure you all felt that, those things from before are still following us, I feel like we're being stalked."
