I move my staff over the body casting druidcraft and covering the body and head with flowers so other do not need to see the grisly remains. Then I go back inside "It seems a halfling was one of the creatures that attacked. I do not understand how or why but I would like to put him to rest. Do any of you know the customs of this area?"
Violet mummers from underneath her hood, "Just put them in the ground. They're dead. What do they care what happens to their body?" She shifts her shoulders to make her spot more comfortable, but doesn't say much else.
"Right, we'll take an hour to recover and prepare to leave then? If each of us is willing to chip in three gold pieces we can buy a cart and use that steed gem to get an animal to pull it."

Jatrin put 3 gold coin on the table and goes outside to put the micro steed on the grounds. While watching over it grow he take bit of breather (short rest). hit die 8
Tailine will gather the coin everyone has chipped in and speak to the villagers to see who might be willing to sell them a cart that can be pulled by a single steed. "We need something sturdy that won't come apart on us during the trip. The good news is that the army we saw isn't headed this way, but we have to go warn the people who are in it's path."

As you all sit down to take a short rest, further bandaging some wounds and preparing for the long journey ahead, Strife heads over, "You now have your journey as I have mine. We shall leave shortly, but you should all know this. My wounds did not come from those creatures we fought today, for like my friend I am an expert in the martial practices. There is something greater out there somewhere, and it's intelligent and deadly. It took out the elite guard of the person I was to meet, and I was only able to wound it enough to stop it following me. Be careful out there, especially in the hours of darkness."
He then heads over to Tailine, talking quietly so that only she can hear, "Although your training is nowhere near complete, we must now go down separate paths. I'm sure we shall meet again, but you must now train and learn from the harsh world instead of me. Good luck."
Strife then heads back over to the Tabaxi, mutters a few words and draws a straight katana-like blade from his pack. (Tailine although you have seen this blade before, it was always left sheathed) As he draws it from the sheath you see the blade. Made of what looks like black steel, you feel your eyes and brain trying to not see it, the blade seemingly shimmering as they do so. He makes a single vertical slice creating something like a portal, then both step through and the portal closes.
Shortly after Jatrin places the small magic ball on the ground, it begins to grow. A formless blob at first, but slowly gaining features such as legs. After a few minutes you can tell that it will be a wolf when fully formed, but when you expect it to stop growing (medium size), it keeps going. It grows to a size slightly larger than that of a Dire Wolf, but without the added features that the species has. The Wolf's fur is an almost radiant ice-blue colour, slightly illuminating the area around it.
(this is a wolf, but instead of being a medium creature, it is a large creature. It is a celestial creature. It creates an area of dim light for a radius of 5 ft (ice-blue coloured). The creature is attuned to Jatrin, but if the spell find steed is cast by Jatrin, the current one will disappear and this steed will not return upon a recasting.(unique steed essentially))
The large wolf takes a couple of steps towards you, Jatrin, before lowering her head to your level and you feel thoughts entering your head, "I am Asaph'il. You are not... usual... Jatrin, nor do I sense any nearby..." She looks around for a moment before she continues, "It does not matter, I am bound to assist the one who summons me." She bows her head slightly as she finishes communicating.
Tailine, at this time of night it takes some time before you find someone willing to part with their cart, but you do find one in good repair and buy it for 15 gp. It's not the most luxurious cart, nor the most comfy, but it would fit all 5 of you, along with the supplies that you carry. There are 2 spaces at the front for those driving the cart and 4 spaces in the back. (while riding in the back, you may take a short/long rest, but those driving are unable to take either.)
Those you talk to are relieved to hear that the foe is moving on. It takes some effort to pull the empty cart back to the inn, but you manage to do so eventually, seeing the large, glowing, ice-blue wolf standing in front of it when you arrive. The wolf looks over and watches silently as you approach.
Some pre-travel/rest bits:
Estellen (as you have the highest INT modifier and are most likely to know this), roll an Intelligence check please. (this is to guess/try and work out how long it will take to get to your destination.)
Estellen, Violet, and Quilqwen (as primary spellcasters) can you all make an Intelligence (Arcana) check please.
Jatrin, Tailine, and Quilqwen (given backgrounds/proficiency) can you all make a Wisdom (Nature check please)
Can everyone please make a Wisdom Saving throw please.
You all know the journey will likely take several weeks (this will not be played out day-by-day, but there is opportunity here to begin some downtime activities (such as learning a new language) should you wish to. In order to do so you will need someone to teach you (for example Estellen could start trying to teach someone Elvish, or Jatrin could start trying to train someone how to use a longsword (if someone has a longsword) for example.) Because it will be a long journey you will need to sort out food. It is possible to forage on the way (although this will slow your pace), but no one is proficient in survival (or has features to assist in this) so you may wish to acquire rations before you go, or find some other way to stay fed. Water is easy enough to find in these parts and as long as everyone has a waterskin, they will be fine for water.
Let me know if you want to start any downtime activities.
The creature pulling the cart will need to have a long rest per day of travel.
In the morning your special order items will be available from Sil (for those that ordered those items)
And Quilqwen will let the others know that once he’s had a good nights sleep he can provide sustenance for the group if they wish. (Good Berry)
for downtime activity I will continue to work on my flying. But will also spend sometime each day conversing with whatever animals I can find to learn how to track, forage, etc (survival skills) if possible.
(I'm going to be on a plane for most of today, and may not have access to internet for a few days, so if you guys are waiting on me you can just assume Estellen follows the party)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Jatrin bows back at Asaph'il and communicate telepathicly "Nice to meet you Asaph'il, my name is Jatrin. The old elf name is Estellen, the tiefling called Violet, Aarakocra name is Quilqwen and the female human called Violet. We still preparing for our departure but it would help us greatly if you could pull this car during our travel"

Quilqwen, because animals are not proficient in survival (and eat lots of stuff you can't), sadly it won't work. Nice idea though.
During your rest, as your mind goes over the fight, a couple of you notice something that you missed in the heat of combat. Because of their alien nature it was hard to read their reactions, but lightning didn't seem to actually effect the creature. In fact it almost looked like it absorbed it slightly. The strange void attacks that Violet used, although affecting the creature, didn't have a particularly big impact on it.
Those more used to mundane weapons realise that their weapons also had a diminished effect and, looking over their gear, notice that anything that came in contact with the creature (e.g. swords) is slightly damaged (but still usable).
Estellen, you cast your mind back to the times you spent staring at the maps in the libraries back home, and would guess it would take 2-3 weeks in perfect conditions, but more likely it will take 3-4 given bad terrain or weather. (a week is 8 days, so 16-24 days in perfect conditions, 24-32 days more likely)
Asaph'il bows her head slightly as she replies, "That will not be a problem. I'll wait here until you're ready." She walks over to be beside the window to the inn and lies down in front of it in a position to see inside.
Through out the trip I take time wandering off each day. Seemingly following some sort of creature. Each time coming back with some other thing to eat that the creature said would be good. Sometimes berries, other times nuts, one time some bark and twigs, maybe even once a fish. Its never much and one of the days haul of berries doesn't sit very well and the next day I bring back some scat that a beetle led me to you all kind of stop even considering trying the findings. But I keep trying anyways.
(Do I see any new beasts as we travel? for Wild shaping purposes )
