“I think that’s about it then, so if you all will follow me, I’ll explain along the way,” The sgt says as he starts off down the road. “In order to get to Deadwood I’m sure you’ve seen some of the effects of this war. Right after the Midwinter festival it came out that an entire noble line was wiped out in one night, and evidence made it look like one of the ruling merchant families did it. Next thing you know here we are, the surviving nobles of the old regime rebelling against the ruling merchants of the present.”
”Here is where you lot comes in. Lord Fourthkeep needs a standing militia, but here doesn’t have time to train the commonfolk, but he’s got the coin for you. As far as I’ve been told, you’ll just be patrolling the hamlet an’ maybe doin the odd job”
With that he stops in front of a small thatch hut, “and here’s your quarters” pulling the door open to show a bare room inside, “I know it’s not much, but we figured you’d rather have a roof over your head then a bed to sleep on, with our time constraint and all. As for wages, you’ll be starting at 2 gold apiece for the first month, and then we will talk about retaining you from there. Any questions?”
“Yes, I almost forgot, I’ll send someone down from the keep with food. You can get your meals from the gatehouse shortly after dawn, at high sun, and just after dusk. If you have a night patrol that night, the kitchens will make sure you have some rations to snack on throughout the night. Anything other questions, if not I’ll be off”
“Lord Fouthkeep will meet you personally; however, at the moment he is visiting other noble families trying to gather more support. Until then, you will be seeing myself and maybe Captain Woodhead”
”for now though, I suggest you all rest up before your post. You still might be able to get a good nights sleep in. And of course, your food will be down shortly. Now, I must be off”
The young guardsman then takes his leave and about 15 minutes later a man pulling a hand drawn cart drops off a cauldron half full of stew, some wooden bowls and spoons, and places a rain barrel next to your hut. “Don’t worry about it being empty now, it’ll be full before the weeks out” he says, “and just put everything back on the cart when your done, someone might get it in the morning” he then shambles away.
After finishing the bowl he heads into the hut and finding a corner near the door he puts his pack down. Getting out his blanket he lays down and goes to sleep.
Looking Kelic over Leto replies "Most recently I've been mostly in the business of acquisitions... Objects or information that people will pay for. It's amazing what you can find, and sell, if you know where to look. Yourself?"
Leto will set up his gear furthest away from the door, back to the corner, but always keeping his staff nearby.
Digging into the stew he'll say, almost too himself "eh.. had worse..."
Drack eats while wondering what the lord was concerned about in this area as potential threats then goes outside and holds up his arm and sends out a mental signal. Soon a beautiful Gryfalcon lands on his outstretched arm and he pets it soothingly before sending it out to find food and patrol around the town for him, giving it instructions to alert him if it sees any potential danger. He hoped it would recognize the same things as he did as dangerous. He then returned to the room and began setting up his bedroll. "Where are you all from before this, If you don't mind me asking?"

I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
Two gold a month? Agatha thinks to herself. Why, I could cut more back at home on a good day. Guess country bumpkins don't get the coin. But eh, I said I'd try country work.
"Alright, 'o can do what then?" Agatha asks the group, looking at the stew as if it was a great gift. "Any big ol' 'ero wizards and stuff?"
Hearing this, Leto adds in "You may call me Leto." with a nod toward Agatha. To the guard "Captain, have we all arrived? Or are more expected?"

"What about food? Do we eat at the inn or what?"
Gnash asks as they stop in front of the small hut.
"I agree I could use some food after the journey."

"Just one, will we be meeting Lord Fourthkeep personally or only through you?"
"When will we begin our first patrol?"

Gnash takes the bowl from Leto.
"Thank you Leto."
After finishing the bowl he heads into the hut and finding a corner near the door he puts his pack down. Getting out his blanket he lays down and goes to sleep.
Kelic takes the bowl from Leto, "Thank you, so what were you up to before this Leto?"
"If you all want you can go to sleep I'll take the first watch."

Leto would probably have laid down to relax, and maybe catch a nap before whatever shift will await them later.
