Nephrius rushes behind the Nothic and swings her shortswords. Making precise blows with her swords, she avoids the spines on its back, cutting deep gashes on the back and sides.
Nil strikes with his rapier and cuts another deep gash across its torso.
Being currently threatened by both Nil and Harukai, it will make attacks against each of them. With the bane spell it must roll a d4 and remove that amount from its attack or saving throw.

Continuing to flank the unnerving creature, Harukai makes one last thrust with the moonsword at its large central eye, then unexpectedly releases the sword after the thrust and launches himself into the air, doing a leaping front snap kick at the pommel of the sword, trying to drive it deeper into the bulbous eye towards the brain!

Harukai's sword drives into the eye of the creature and it lets out a shrill cry of pain. The follow up kick drives the sword deeper into the eye. The creature is now blinded.
Seeing the monster now blind, Jackson takes a moment to pity the monster, but finds himself unable to execute a killing blow. He gets back to his feet, clears his face and says a prayer to The Triad.

Nephrius seeing the display that Harukai just pulled off will try and plunge both of her shortswords into the creatures back as once (Using flank from Harukai)
Jackson finishes his prayer, which happens to steel him. He regains his posture and withdraws his Warhammer. "I'm sorry, my friend. That creature and I...it made me come to terms with my deepest fear: That Gundren may possibly already be dead. For a moment, I found myself overcome, but I understand we have a task at hand, and I will accept whatever outcome should the gods will it. I will do what I can to get us through this mess, and hopefully bring those responsible to justice. I just fear we've already taken too much time."
Climbing down to the bottom of the fissure, which is about 8 feet deep and unnaturally cold, you find a wooden treasure chest that is currently unlocked. The chest contains 160 silver, 120 gold, five malachite gems (15 gold each), two potions of healing, and a scroll of augury. There is also a longsword in a scabbard with silver trim. The hilt is in the shape of a bird with outstretched wings and the word "talon" inscribed on the blade. If anyone wants to give a history check, they may be able to discover information about the blade.
Harukai hands the items up out of the crevice and climbs out afterwards. He hands all the treasure but the sword to Jackson (OOC—I think we need Jackson to distribute the treasure from the bugbear fight too), then displays the sword to the group for their inspection.
”This seems like an unusual blade. Has anyone ever seen it’s like?”

Harukai, seeing the blade, recognizes the name of "Talon." During your studies with the monks, you were introduced to some history of the empire. After climbing from the pit and taking a moment to meditate and center your thoughts, you remember that this blade has a history with this area. The sword was owned by a great knight named Aldith Tresendar, known as the Black Hawk. He is the owner of this manor and was killed during the battle of Phandalin when the orcs raided the area and the mine magical mine was lost. The longsword is magical and a +1 longsword .
