Oh, sorry, misinterpreted what the history check was for since so much happened in between; thought you were wondering if you knew anything about the artifact.
Jarl:
Aboleths are the stuff of nightmares where you come from. They're immortal, they carry the memories of their ancestors, making even the youngest aboleths extremely shrewd. And they have psionic powers that they use to try to enslave anyone with weak minds (which in their view, includes just about everyone). Physically they look kind of like a cross between an eel and a squid, with a mouth that has rows of sharp teeth going all the way around it, three eyes stacked vertically above the mouth, and several tentacles that trail behind it when it's swimming to propel it, but can also serve as legs with which it can propel itself on land (albeit slowly).
Hearing Dalrak, Brix again lets out this guttural chuckle, then responds: "This bird is offering a paying job. Drunk or not, ain't nothing is going to keep me from that reward." He sheathes his rapier again, turning to Shale. "Well come on cleric; which way we going?"
"These runes are positively related to arcane magic" Squiggles says excitedly. "I MUST know what they mean. Oh, and we should be careful. These more than slightly suggest the work of someone heavily skilled in the arts. Shale, do you recognize them?" and hands them to Shale.
"They remind me of that time I surrounded Brix with Magic Circle and left him there for 2 hours. HEHEHE. That was funny right Brix??"
Does Jarl know of any immunities, resistances, or vulnerabilities it has?
Jarl pales a little, but it's hardly noticeable. "Aboliths are to be feared -- if there is any chance we can avoid its notice entirely we must do so, and it not we must still try to avoid detection for as long as possible." He looks at Rawk. "I don't suppose you have anything, with your gift for foresight, that would aid in this? Call it a deposit, perhaps. Or an investment in our safe return."
Shale shrugs his shoulders at the dwarf's observations. "Oh, I don't know, there... Sounds like it could be a fun hunt."Looking down at the goblin with a wide grin. "Don't worry my little friend. You will have a fine meal soon enough!"He flicks the edge of the bowl causing it to ring through the square.
Jarl: You don't know of any specific vulnerabilities or immunities
"I'm afraid you've just about exhausted what foresight I can provide... The aboleth will undoubtedly try to enslave those of you it can before it tries to kill the rest, so you may want to do what you can to shore up your mental defenses. You, the gnome and the half-elf have some innate resistance, at least, but I'd worry about your goblin friend over there. Perhaps those of you skilled in magic can do something about him, however."
Brix faces Squiggles, saying, "Left me? I wanted to be in there ya buffoon! Anything to keep me out of your confusing little schemes!"
He turns away, facing his back to Squiggles. "Speaking of schemes...what are we to do now? I'm hungry. I'm tired. I'm itching for a fight. If you lot don't come up with a plan, I, your fearless leader, WILL!"
(OOC: Take your time, everyone. Brix is impatient. I, on the other hand, am not lol)

"Perhaps, something like this?" Squiggles pulls on his finger and a Ring of Mind Shielding in his hand. "This should come in quite handy"
The genasi cleric continues to boast about the coming meal. "I plan on giving my friends a a feast that nourishes the body as well as the mind. I hope that will provide us with some extra protection against this beast."
"I don't know what that is, but it looks like a brain, so I'll assume it's useful RAAA! Glad you've come prepared! Well, I will take my leave then and let you eat and strategize. Until tomorrow... I hope." Rawk turns and begins flying north back toward the mountains.
So, what's the plan? Are you headed to Rhogar's? Looking for somewhere you can eat a heroes' feast? Going straight in via the temple or the sewers? Or something else? You could try for a short rest now, though if you are somewhere unprotected there's always a chance of encountering more zombies...
"We should head to this Rhogar fellow. If only so that we aren't having a picnic outside in a zombie-infested city. Might be useful talking to a local as well." Balian shrugs nonchalantly, and drops cross-legged to the floor, awaiting the opinions of the rest of the group.
"Feeeeeeeast? Yes, that sounds good to me," Brix says, licking his lips. "I can't wait." He continues to stand next to Shale, prepared to follow him wherever he goes if it means there'll be a feast.
"Yes, let's get off these streets and have us a meal to put us in the right frame of mind for our new hunt."Shale strides off down the street as directed by Rawk.
"That sounds wise to me -- I don't wish to stay out on the streets in a new town." Jarl pulls his hood up on his cloak as he falls in line with the party. He stops, and looks back. "Oh, what about them?" He gestured at the remains of the zombies.
So Jarl doesn't think it's an aboleth?

"Burn them?!"
Let me know if you're doing something with the bodies first or if you're ready to move on to Rhogar's

“Strangers, including a drow, burning bodies that they claim were zombies?” Jarl shakes his head. “Maybe Rhogar will know who to alert.”

Squiggles nods in agreement. "I'm not NOT going to incinerate them"
Squiggles begins to use Create Bonfire to start burning the zombies
How long are you willing to spend letting each body burn before moving the bonfire to the next one? Or are you going to pile them together first?
