Catching the movement of the elven ranger following the streak of silver hair, Crow will quickly acknowledge the kobold's words, "It is just a young dragon, though I have never been one to discount the illusion that small size can provide...more to the point, we would get their much faster and potentially less winded on a horse."
Waving his hands over his head from atop the wagon, Crow shouts to the rest of the merchants and travelers, "Any not fit for battle should stay here to look after those fleeing until the threat has left, but if you have a horse or two that would allow us to get to the town's aid more quickly. I will pay 5 gold per and leave the animal tied to a tree along the road once we get closer to town."

A few of the kobold glance over at Zust, more confused than frightened, one chuckling at the attempted display at intimidation. Snarling, they dove to attack the woman—and now, the people on the cart that had interrupted their attack.

Cora's eyebrows went up a bit and a smirk crossed her face after Strife introduced herself. She quickly glanced at Starling with an amused look, who mumbled something to herself.
"Un-singed, eh? Hello, Strife, I'm-" Cora began to say, but as they approached the town the sounds of panic and battle reached her ears, and she was no longer in socializing mode.
She looked out the wagon, saw the people and children running. And then the woman with the spear surrounded by kobolds.
Your first test. Show no mercy. Avoid the dragon. As you wish. Your new companions must live. Your will be done.
She leapt off the cart, and drew two short swords from a tight holster attached to her upper right leg. They were magnificent blades of elven design. Shiny, sharp, and dangerous. The kobold Zust did his best to look mean, and Cora almost laughed at the pathetic attempt. Don't kill that one. He's on our side.

Zust is more incensed as they laugh at him, unsure if he should even dirty his blade on them as he prepares for a fight. "Kill them all and let their god sort the remains." He says to the others on the wagon as he grips his rapier. His attention turns to the human next to him and he glares as he sees her try not to laugh. "In my true form you would not dare to ever do such a things..."
Starling hopped off the cart at the sight of the family running away, her bow drawn and ready to shoot. She put herself in the way of the children and injured man at an attempt to deter the assalants from attacking them. Much couldn’t be done for the woman, she just hoped she made it out alive too.

Kaneda had been alone for most of his travels and was enjoying the calm and quiet. But it seemed that fate wanted him with a group as he had found a caravan of travelers heading to a small village. There were a bunch of different people that had joined this caravan.
"I'm glad to join you all on your venture, I'll make sure that I earn my keep here." He said to the leader of the caravan and journeyed on with them.
The trip seemed fine enough, everyone seemed to be pulling their own weight and Kaneda did what he could to help. But as soon as he saw that the village was burning his look became cold. The image he saw, the thing of his nightmares appeared.
"No, not again." He said under his breath, he took out his sword and shield and followed the rest of the group rushing towards the carnage.
"Dear gods, I pray that you give me the strength to enact my vengeance this day." Kaneda prayed as he took held his blade by the hilt and pressed the flat part onto his forehead. He then swiped his blade to the side, ready for battle.
He looked to the rest of the group and shouted.
"I shall not let another dragon massacre another village! Get behind me, I'm much more prepared for close combat," he then tried to rush ahead of the rest of the group.

Strife acts first, unleashing Faerie Fire on the grouping before them, the spell falling over both the kobolds and humans in range. Almost all of the creatures began to glow slightly, outlined in a faint violet light. Two of the kobolds seemed to have escaped the effect of the spell, as well as the human woman and her son, but it had affected all the rest.
Ratha dashes forward second, jabbing her rapier at the nearest kobold. The small creature narrowly leaps out of the way, hissing angrily as her attack barely misses it's scaley side.
From her place on the cart, Starling drew back an arrow, letting it fly into the snarling kobold nearest the commoner woman. The arrow struck the small creature straight through the skull, and it collapsed on the ground, twitching one last time before it fell unmoving.
One of the kobolds that did not glow snarled. It leapt up onto the cart, leering, then suddenly swung it's short dagger at Strife.13 against 14 AC, for 5 damage.
Having been struck dead, the second kobold's attack was lost.
The next in the initiative are Zust, Kaneda Shaa, the human man and a kobold.
