Name: Kathleen Burns Race: High Elf Class: Fighter Champion. Will Dip two levels into rogue. Alignment: Maybe Chaotic Good. I've never been good at figuring out alignment. Background: Noble (I will replace the scroll of pedigree for a personal trinket: A cheap pendant) Character sheet: https://www.dndbeyond.com/profile/ZulkRS/characters/7631492 (Some of the stuff such as Backstory and Personality Traits and Physical Traits haven't been filled out yet. I'll do it later since it's pretty late here)
Short Backstory:
Elena Silversurge was born to a powerful elven house. Her family wanted her to grow up and be a proper lady; go to balls, have elegant parties and participate in lordly fencing and archery. Elena however did not find any enjoyment in such social gatherings and would often sneak out of the house and into town under the name Kathleen Burns. She made a half-orc friend who she would have small adventures with. When her family was absolutely fed up with her unladylike ways, her uncle who was a commander of a specialized unit stationed in the Underdark, decided to take Kath with him to spend a week at camp. He hoped that the hostile environment and violence would spook her into her senses. Kathleen enjoyed her time there and became fast friends with the other soldiers. She put her archery training to good use to aid her new friends. She refused to go back home and became accepted as a part of the group, much to her uncle's dismay. Finally, her uncle decided to lead a reckless charge in a final attempt to get Kath to go home. The entire unit was wiped out; her uncle fled and left Kathleen, who had survived due to sheer luck, to wake up hours later in the battlefield surrounded by her friend's corpses. After patching up her own wounds, she left the camp and went where ever her legs would take her.
(I will make it more detailed when I write it on the character sheet)
Working tonight, so I will look over all the updated submissions and post up an updated list with any more issues/questions I see. I will probably leave this open to submissions for a few more days, then spend a couple of days looking over everything once more, and then make my decision. I figure we will shoot to kick things off on or around January 1.
Character Name: Kara Tresendar Race: Tiefling Class/Sub: Paladin/Ancients Alignment: Chaotic Good Background: Acolyte Sheet: ddb.ac/characters/7641358/6WDs5T Backstory:
I was abandoned on the streets when I was taken in by the Ilmatari in Neverwinter. There I was raised and learned about self-sacrifice and perseverance. We are to help the oppressed and offer forgiveness to those who regret their wicked past.
On my 20th nameday, I was suddenly summoned by a dying nobleman. This human man claimed to be my father and whispered his regrets of leaving me on my own. I forgave him, seeing him so close to death, seeing that my forgiveness would help send him off to the afterlife. Lord Tresendar, as he was named, had no other family and nothing to bequeath me except for a story of our heritage. In a town named Phandalin, the Tresendar family held a manor before it was assaulted by orcs. Apparently, there is an incredible secret that lies beneath the manor and my father regrets never having sought out what it could be. Nowadays, its said that the manor is host to thugs and thieves.
He entrusted that task to me.
I'm unsure of how I feel about all this. As a follower of Ilmater, I have forgiven my father for his transgressions and accepted his dying wish to see what lies beneath the manor. I feel conflicted, but I intend to see his dying wish through to the end.
The picture I plan to use for her:
Note to DM:
I've only run through the very beginning (aka 1 session's worth) of this, but never seen it through to the end. I hope I can change that someday!
I decided to link Kara to the Tresendar manor, which is in the adventure. I don't know anything past that and what was mentioned in the backstory.
I can be any class, but I just like the idea of being a tiefling paladin. By the by, if I'm picked, if it would be possible to replace the "Religion" skill with "Medicine" for the Acolyte background I would certainly be grateful forever.

Please place a least a short background within a spoiler in with your submission.
Irena came from a small village near Mount Hotenow, and lost her family to it's eruption. Raised in an orphanage, she got by on her quick wits and reflexes. She had a short dalliance with crime, but was turned to the straight and narrow by Old Peter, a longtime Neverwinter Guardsman, who took her in as a teenager, and saw what an asset to the guards she could be. While she has been very successful in her role helping out the guards, she chafes under their strict rules and longs to do something greater.

Liarin: Against the Cult of the Reptile God Adewild: Shadows and Light 2 Brother Thaddeus: Rime of the Frostmaiden.
Background: Raised by her human mother in Neverwinter, Griselda Uaigh, better known as Grimm, lived a chastised life in the city's dock district defending herself from those who associated her with the orc hordes that harassed the city after the eruption of Mount Hotenow. She joined the burgeoning military, being trained by the mercenaries from Mintarn, in order to prove her honor and loyalties. On the field of battle she proved her worth and picked up her nickname Grimm. Although boisterous in a tavern, she is as quiet as the grave on the battlefield and the swath of devastation behind her is palpable. It seemed that death followed her everywhere she went, adding to her reputation and inspiring her name. Rumors claimed that after battles, she could be seen walking through the field, rolling up bits of scrolled paper and gently placing them in the fallens' mouths - both friend and foe. Always keeping her faith to herself, and deflecting personal attachment through humor, frivolity or a game of knucklebones, no one really learned much about her, much less her faith in Kelemvor and Jergal. With the chasm sealed and the city rejuvenating, she now seeks her place in the wider world.
I can adjust the back story as need be to better fit the adventure.
Flint grew up in a large family, he is a middle child, and as such found himself in many fights with siblings. When he reached the age of 35 decided to not join the family tradition of mining. Instead found his calling in the ring so to speak, joining a troupe of fighters to entertain the community. Having fought with many of his sibling growing up Flint found he had a natural ability for wrestling and hand to hand combat.
Hello! I will go ahead and post my character hoping there is a spot left for me. :)

Ffermyr was born in Evereska, a secluded elven valley in the Western Heartlands. His parents Amaethwyr and Annwyl were both merchants, and wished for their child to follow in their footstep, inheriting the family's business of selling wine from their own vineyards in the northeastern part of the valley. Though, still young, Ffermwyr made it clear while wandering further and further away each day in wanderlust, that he wouldn't develop such a grounded mind as to stay put and follow their wishes. The young elf eventually was trained in the traditional sword and bow of his people and took to scouting for the local militia as he came of age, much to the dismay of his parents. Through the decades, he quickly proved his skill and rose in rank of the local military, training a small drake - Greyclaw - he bonded with in his journeys, eventually joining the Greycloaks of Evereska. In 1372 DR, when the phaerimms attacked, Ffermwyr was eager to join the fight and defend his city, but when his company was told to hold a pass, he recklessly went ahead and tried to ambush the enemies, but was himself surrounded, making his company come out of hiding to rescue him - a mistake that cost the lives of many companions. Even though the battle was won and Evereska saved, Ffermwyr was ashamed, and volunteered to act as an emissary and scout in far away cities, learning in other lands whatever could be helpful for the defense of Evereska, and his wish was granted, he set on towards the road, vowing to return a better self.
Hey all, going to close Recruitment at this point and will review all the submissions over the next day or two. I will post a list of the selected PCs and send PMs to those selected! Thank you all for the excellent submissions!
Okay, after much deliberating and pairing of different characters; I have ultimately decided on the following five PCs and players to accompany me on this journey! Please look for a PM to reply and post your confirmation intent here!
Puck of the Shivering Summit (GerStud101)
Zanigur of Thundertree (Awaypturwpn)
Kara Tresendar (LaRue)
Irena (Charwoman_Gene)
Griselda "Grimm" Uaigh (jr_el_leon)
If was a very difficult decision as all of the submissions were top-notch and I really thought about starting up a second group, but for the time being I do not have the time/energy to fully devote to two separate games and I hate to not give my full devotion to the groups for which I DM. That said, if I lose any characters from this group or if one of them does not check in, then I will contact one or more of you as replacements! Or if things change and I end up having more time/energy then I'll be in contact with some of you to see if you are still interested. Again, thank you all for all the amazing submissions, I thoroughly enjoyed reading over your creations.

(@Lyrel Thank you. Kit purchased, and fixed minor sheet error on equipment. Had the wrong backgrounds starting gear.)
When you realize you're doing too much: Signature.
Fixed! The skills were missing because I didn't have the background I wanted, so I just switched it.
Updated Puck with the proper Tabaxi character sheet; just had to buy the race. Let me know if it or anything else needs fixing.
Also, sorry about so many Bards but I have to remain true to my style! Hope to be considered.
Long live the PCs of the Past:
Puck of the Shivering Summit -- Tabaxi Bard, College of Lore -- Lyrel's Lost Mines of Phandelver
Alus -- High Elf Cleric of Valkur, Tempest Domain -- Yet Another Storm King's Thunder
Ah'brasar -- Aarakocra Druid, Circle of Wildfire -- Yet Another Storm King's Thunder
Furlong J. Rosewood -- Human Monk, Way of the Open Hand -- The Exploits of Misfit Company
I’ll take my Bard out of the running and stick with dwarf tempest cleric.
