"Yeah, its been going for a while now. The gangsters are getting nastier by the second and more motivated to kill. Hell, you can barely bribe em now... It all started last month or something. Since then the thugs been exceptionally brutal and ruthless,"
"Oh, he sounds scary. By chance would you happen to know where he would hang out? You know, I wouldn't want to stumble into a character like that by accident. Need to be aware of where to stay away from."
"I really don't know myself, but based on the attacks, it would be advisable not to leave your house, inn or motel between 6 pm and 5 am. Also, you guys look tough, so I suspect you should be trained in weaponry. Keep a knife or two in your belt, might help if someone tries to attack,"
"Thanks for your help." Socarin pulls out a gold coin and pushes it in the Barmans direction, "If you manage to remember anything else that could be helpful then come find me or my friends."
The barkeeper pockets it swiftly. "By the way, I'm Banrack. Banrack Greenlands. I have a friend who does stuff like you folks. I suppose he's off raiding some dungeons, but if you ever find an elf by the name of Ymel Folracad, tell him you were sent by Banrack. He most likely could help you out quite a bit."
"At night, huh? We can give it a shot." Gary gives one last glance at the sign and resolves to himself that he'll get a chance to look at it later when the tavern is less crowded.
"Unless anyone has objections, I'd like to get this over with sooner rather than later. Is tonight good for everyone? Socarin, do you know when at night is a good time, or whereabouts we should be?"
Darion nodded along with Gary. "I agree that sooner is better than later. Should we prepare for combat, or focus on stealth this time around?" Darion's hands strayed towards his rapiers, itching for combat.
The barman mentioned that some trouble can be found after dinner. He didn't mention what we would find but this time trouble may find us quicker if we don't try and hide.
Mjoll watches Darion and assists him with his attempt at reading the marks, by pointing out the oddness of the patterns.

Meanwhile, you hear someone yelling at you all to stop clamouring around the sign and looking weird. oops

Socarin skips over to the bar and climbs up onto a stool to talk to the barman. In a low voice so as not to allow other patrons to hear,
"Have you heard rumors of people going missing in the back alleys, apparently taken by paid bandits?"

"Any other strange occurrences happen in town last month? Any new folk seen around the tavern? What happens to the people they take away?"
"I really can't say, but there is this suspicious feller others talk about - tall, swathed in black robes, and with a voice like scratching nails,"

"I will keep an eye out for him. We could use the help. You may want to see a healer about that cough, sounds rough."
Socarin leaps off the stool and heads over to his party.
"So the Barkeep didn't know much but if we head out at night we may run into someone who can point us in the right direction."
