Diadochi looks over the corpse "Hmmmm, a hobgoblin with horns, I wonder if it's a tiefling of some sort. My Cousin, Ecbatana, she's blood red and has horns. Admittedly she's intimidating to look at, but she's sweet as honey, breeds horses that can carry Loxodonian physique." His face beams "She has a delightful secret mushroom humus flatbread recipe, once we get back to civilization we should get her to make some for us, it'll wash the taste of this whole hellish mountain affair out of our mouths." Then his face falls "Well once I've completed my service we can go back." (( 4 sad damage. also off chance that there would be a historical event/ figure involving people getting horns )) history5 .
He then addresses the group "To be honest, I've gotten all turned around, so I say we go to the nearest part of this cave we haven't been to before." unless someone stops him he'll try to go to that part.
Diadochi, as you ponder and try to recall a bit of history involving people getting horns, your mind drifts a bit. You snap back as you approach the edge of (area 5) that leads into (area 6). The rope ladder beside your feet. About a ten foot drop down into a rather large chamber. Scattered across the ground are dead goblins. And dead Hn’ti.
Before you’re able to take in too much else, you notice two figures in the middle. The faint light makes it difficult to see exactly who they are. One is short, probably a goblin. One is tall, probably a hobgoblin based on your encounters so far in this cave.
The low, deep voice says something. Before beginning to reach into a small satchel beside him....
Sim, you hear the low voice in Goblin state:
”More intruders. Go, sire. Make sure the apprentice finishes our divine task.”
Setup: Diadochi is standing at the ledge of a 10 foot drop that leads into area 6. (Acrobatics DC 12 to jump down, or fall prone. 1/2 speed to stand back up, unless verticals jump is that high. No check to climb down the rope ladder, but costs 20 feet of movement unless you have a climb speed). 50 feet away from the drop is a humanoid figure and a smaller figure. The dim light makes it so only their outlines are truly visible. The rest of the team is anywhere from 10 feet of Diadochi, to 30 feet from him inside (area 5). (You can pick distance on your post)
The Hobgoblin hands begin to circle around. Rolling something in one hand while tracing the air with fingertips now stained a yellow in color. Arcane words come out of his mouth, filling the room for a brief moment. Then, a single, white, spark. That spark flies over to Diadochi. Streaking across the air. Before erupting into swirling flames; 20 feet in all directions.
(Diadochi, Yaalin, and Sim are all caught in the blast. DC 13 Dex Save vs Half) (Abigail, going at the same time, if turn ends 20 feet from Diadochi, DEX save applies) (Lafetha, if initiative is 20 or under, chose to be either making DEX save, or, start further away but turn might just be moving)
Diadochi stands up (half movement gone) and double moves down the ladder and towards the hobgoblin "Well, so much for being friends." He breathes in, the scent of his charred skin fills his noes. It takes him back to the night with the burning siege. He breathes out ((second wind)) 4 .
The Goblin, now with Abigail being close, smirks. It being the same goblin that knocked her out cold a few days ago. He disengages, before shimming faintly and fleeing down the tunnel out of the area and out of line of sight (Action: Disengage. Move: 40 ft. Step of the Wind: 40 ft.)
Round 1 (End)
Summary: Sim quickly climbs down the ladder, turning and aiming at the hobgoblin before letting loose a arrow, striking the creature (9). The Hobgoblin launches a fireball, it streaking and engulfing Sim, Yaalin and Diadochi who all collapse as the ribbons of flames circle around them. Abigail, having left off the ledge just before the fireball got there, moves into melee with the Hobgoblin and Goblin. The goblin himself disengages from the oncoming melee, fleeing out of sight from the remaining two. Yaalin hangs on to life. Lafetha moves over, healing Yaalin (+6), and then some of her mystical fey energies wrapping around Diadochi (+3, +1 Temp HP). Diadochi stands back up, moving closer to the soon to be combat, giving himself his second wind (+4).

The Hobgoblin slams his staff and stomps his foot, in unison with Abigail’s action. A wave of force erupting around him and blasting out 15 feet in all directions.
Thunderwave : 3 Thunder Damage. (Abigail, DC 13 CON save v half and 10 feet knock back. You still get your action regardless due to tied initiatives)
