"I already said that the citizens of Chynurrorth would appreciate you doing this, so I can't believe that to be the case. There is that financial risk, yes, but it isn't the main problem. We don't want our folk to be taken."
'This is bloody ridiculous' the Sparrow thought to himself, itching to get a move on. He took a step forward to indicate that he'd like to have a word. "Now, we can continue discussing economics once the mission is complete. We have a major problem to fix, and every second we spend standing here twiddling our collective thumbs is another second those savages have to go about their vile business. Seeing how clear it is how worried our patron for this mission is about the situation at hand, it would most certainly be unwise to let that happen. That is all." He stepped back into his previous position to punctuate his statement.
"The gnome is correct," Kayn says, "We must get on with it. 200gp each and a 25% discount writ will be acceptable. No coins need to be exchanged up-front, but the writ must be written so that we may gather our supplies before leaving. If we fail, your town will get money from what we purchase before we leave and you will owe us nothing. Deal?"
"Fine... the original deal it is. 50 gold ahead of time and 150gp upon our return," Kayn sighs. "So where can we find these orcs according to your reports..."
"I'd rather gain information now then run off without a clue," the genasi shrugged. Taking a deep breath, she decided to start over. Maybe things would start going better for them.
"Friends, I do believe we may have started on the wrong foot," Gwyn said airily. "My name is Gwyn Awyr," the rogue gave a little bow before straightening up and giving the group of misfits a big smile.
Kayn has the decency to ignore Gwyn as she introduces herself, instead focusing at the task at hand. He awaits the honored mayor's response.
As the seconds tick by he seems a bit agitated by the silence.
After a few moments he turns to Gwyn, a large grin on his face, "I am but a servant of the Lord Marionatta of Port Lerveth in expedition of glory in his Name. I am Kayn. Tis a pleasure to finally meet you, as your exploits in the local taverns have perked my ears. It is good to hear that your tongue is as talented as I've heard, m'lady." He turns back to the mayor awaiting her reply.
"I already mentioned that they are estimated to be about two days southwest of here. Port Lerveth? On the eastern coast of Krydionta's Realm? A fine place, I've heard."
Maeralya walks over to a safe as she says this, and rummages around in her pockets for a couple of seconds, before stopping, and resting her hand on it's front. [The last sentence she says here is in elven.]
"Oh that's right. It is locked by voice and touch. I, Maeralya Leogella, require access."
Kayn smiles at the mayor, "I am but a humble retainer to my Lord. You can understand now why a writ would have been valuable to him... however after much self-deliberation I have decided that the gold holds more value over a discount in your fine town's trade." He seems sheepish as he says this, but follows it up with, "The cost of discount for his trade goods passing through here would amount to more years than my mind is willing to calculate. I will do this deed with these mercenaries for the gold."
He nods to Yvertal, "Tis a pleasure. I believe we are set to leave."

Tis a pleasure to finally meet you, as your exploits in the local taverns have perked my ears. It is good to hear that your tongue is as talented as I've heard, m'lady," Gwyn was finally able to put a name to the face of the human.
"If you've heard bad things, I can promise they are all lies. If you've heard good things, then they are certainly all true," Gwyn said with a laugh that sounded like wind chimes. "I have not heard of you before, so I suppose you have the advantage here."
"Name's Yvertal," the not quite human flipped them off. "Do we need more information or can we get a move on?"
"I'm all set, Ee-vertal," the genasi butchered her new companion's name. She'd get there eventually. Trying to overcome the embarrassment, the rogue turned back to the mayor and gave the woman a large smile. "Mae, darling, thank you for this important mission. I can assure you, we will not let you down."
isshkar listened to the conversation from behind the group and, since everyone else has to have a word, decided to pipe in as well "forgive us mayor for..."glances in the direction of Roberta "her..but we kindly appreciate your offer and will kindly accept it. now how big do you think these orcs are?"he trails off muttering to himself about equipment and what would be a good strategy for taking these orcs down.
"How big the orcs are? Orc sized, though one of oue lookouts claims to have seen a Tanarukk with a scouting group. If you mean numbers, then we cannot be sure of any more than ten, though there are likely at least 30. Now, here's fifty gold apiece, in platinum so you can see how much you are getting, rather than trusting a bag."
As she says this, Maeralya hands each of you five platinum coins, and the front door opens as she finishes her sentence.

Kayn gives her a slight bow and says, "My thanks, honored Mayor. One last thing... What kind of proof do you require that their tribe has been abolished?"
"Scouts aren't trained to fight. They are trained to run, and to not spout lies to their allies or the truth to their enemies. That's how we like them."
At this point, the mayor is making a point of rummaging through her drawers.

"I cannot do 200 gold and any discount. If you take the discount, I cannot spare any more than 150 gold."
The mayor looks somewhat apologetic as she says this.

Seemingly Irritated with this whole conversation, Yvertal finally speaks up again.
