Zar huffs and points to his hammer."Hammer,Sword,Bow,Dagger" He says as he looks down at this man his armor detailed in the style of Solamnia mixed with flourishes of the god Kiri-Jolith. He had learned long ago to act dumb, and speak as if he didn't understand. After a long list of pointing and showing his objects. At the end he adds."See No Staff"
Regus uses Prestidigitation to create a series of Illusory sparks of lightning jumping around his left hand as he walks, Holding the hand in front of him while occasionally flexing his fingers. "Solomon! What of you? What are your plans when we arrive at the Last Home?" Regus was looking forward to seeing the rest of the Companions, Five years had at some points seemed so long, yet so short a time. He and Zaria had accomplished the test laid before them, the three of them had spent days and nights on the long road in search of something, Anything to point them towards the Gods. Alas the journey had proved fruitless yet Regus found his faith in the Maid of Illusion, Lunitari, Such the crimson of his Robes would proudly display. While the robe had grown worn and tattered, He looked forward to a period of extensive rest to which repair the robe.
As a being of Logic, Regus had thought of the possibilities. That the three would arrive at the Last Home and their companions could not be there, some or all of them could have perished in the 5 year journey. They may have not been as fortunate as the three of them. Yet he Hoped to see his companions and share tales of what the last five years had shown them.
Fangor rolls his eyes as he examines his scimitar and shows his belongings to the guards. "As you can see, I have no staff either." Fangor was unsure what to make of the guards. "Solace has changed. It just seemed like yesterday we were leaving for our journey."

I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
Brenton approaches Thomas, opening his packs commenting with an obvious chuckle, "No sticky fingers now, I've my eye on you. I don't see why it's your business where I've been, but I'm not in the mood for a fight - I went to visit family. Haven't seen them in years. Wasn't too long though that I longed for my chosen home and returned to Solace."
As Thomas goes through Brenton's things he says more quietly, "So, when exactly did Solace get a militia? There was none when we left. Who is running it? And what's this about a staff? Bothering farmers for a staff seems to be a stretch."
Ever observant, Brenton reviews the militia members' uniforms for common iconography.
Having easily found his way to the bar. Alex waving his thin musclar arm to draw Tika's attetion. Once he is sure he has her attention Alex will signal for 3 orders of stew and 6 drinks for the table. Once the order is noted Alex will throw a wink at Tika. Turning to scan the room, taking in his second home after what seemed like such a long time up north. Seeing so many faces that he didn't know and a good number he did know. Many of them fixated on the old man telling his story. Alex stopped to list to what the old man had to say.
The party is searched but they don't really put much effort into it. Zar is given a wide birth.
Thomas speaks a few quick words to Brenton, in hurried hushed tones. " Orders … " he says apologically then looks around " The Seekers makes us do all kind of unpleasant things, people are not happy." He seems to think everyone knows about the Seekers and their hierarchy. Giving a quick nod he moves to another person.
While they are not well armed, they are more equipped than most militia group you have encountered, better even than paid guards in some parts. The Sigil of a red hand on a black field. Clearly they are a part of the security of the town. As the group waits for the others to be searched they can see more guards moving, making their rounds, in town, clearly on the lookout.
After a few minutes the group is waved into the town.
Solace had long been a crossroads for travelers. They came northeast from Haven, the Seeker capital. They came from the elven kingdom of Qualinesti to the south. Sometimes they came from the east, across the barren Plains of Abanasinia. Throughout the civilized world, the Inn of the Last Home was known as a traveler's refuge and center for news. It was to the Inn that the three friends turned their steps.
The huge, convoluted trunk rose through the surrounding trees. Against the shadow of the vallenwood, the colored panes of the Inn's stained-glass windows glittered brightly, and sounds of life drifted down from the windows. Lanterns, hanging from the tree limbs, lit the winding stairway. Though the autumn night was settling chill amid the vallenwoods of Solace, the travelers felt the companionship and memories warm the soul and wash away the aches and sorrows of the road.
Alex moved toward the old man and saw that next to him, sitting in the far corner and hidden from most, was a beautiful lady. though she was trying to stay concealed he caught glimpse of her blue skin.
A rasp on his knuckles, with his staff, from the old man, brought him back to the moment.
" Your friends might be wanting that cold … Get new ones for the three coming." without waiting for an answer the man swung back to the crowd and continued his story .
"What is this old man going on about? How does he know how many more we are expecting?" Shaking his head on the way back to the table. "Who is the lady in the corner too?" Finally making his way to his seat and looking at his friends. "Do either of you recognize the old man in the corner? Wait, where did Taylon get to now?"
Solomon started to shout for the others to hurry then he stopped and turned in alarm. Too late, he heard the silvery jingle of harness and bridle and the whinny of a horse. He put his hand on the hilt of his weaponss.
Swearing under his breath, Solomon could do nothing but stand and stare at the figure emerging from the shadows. It was seated on a small, furry-legged pony that walked with its head down as if it were ashamed of its rider. Gray, mottled skin sagged into folds about the rider's face. Two pig-pink eyes stared out at them from beneath a military-looking helmet. Its fat. flabby body leaked out between pieces of flashy, pretentious armor.
A peculiar odor hit Regus, and he wrinkled his nose in disgust. "Hobgoblin!" his brain registered. He loosened his sword.
"Behind you," Solomon said quietly.
Karia, hearing the warning note in his friend's voice, scrambled to her feet.
The hobgoblin sat astride the pony, watching them with a sneering, supercilious look on his flat face. His pink eyes reflected the last lingering traces of sunlight.
"You see, boys," the hobgoblin stated, speaking the Common Tongue with a thick accent, "what fools we are dealing with here in Solace."
There was gritty laughter from the trees behind the hobgoblin. Eight goblin guards, dressed in crude uniforms, came out on foot. They took up positions on either side of their leader's horse.
"Now…" The hobgoblin leaned over his saddle. Karia watched with a kind of horrible fascination as the creature's huge belly completely engulfed the pommel. "I am Fewmaster Toede, leader of the forces that are keeping Solace protected from undesirable elements. You have no right to be walking in the city limits after dark. You are under arrest." Fewmaster Toede leaned down to speak to a goblin near him. "Bring me the blue crystal staff, if you find it on them," he said in the croaking goblin tongue. Solomon, Regus and Karia all looked at each other questioningly. Each of them could speak some goblin. Had they heard right? A blue crystal staff?
"If they resist," added Fewmaster Toede, switching back to Common for grand effect, "kill them."
With that, he yanked on the reins, flicked his mount with a riding crop, and galloped off down the path toward town.
"Goblins! In Solace! This new Theocrat has much to answer for!" Regus spat. Reaching up, he planted his feet firmly on the path, rocking back and forth until he felt himself balanced. "Very well," he announced. "Come on."
"I advise you to retreat,"Solomon said, throwing his cloak over one shoulder and drawing his weapon. "We have had a long journey. We are hungry and tired and late for a meeting with friends we have not seen in a long time. We have no intention of being arrested."
"Or of being killed," added Karia. She had drawn no weapon but stood staring at the goblins with interest.
A bit taken aback, the goblins glanced at each other nervously. One cast a baleful look down the road where his leader had vanished. The goblins were accustomed to bullying peddlers and farmers traveling to the small town-not to challenging armed and obviously skilled fighters. But their hatred of the other races of Krynn was long-standing. They drew their long, curved blades.
Algrenon stood in the bushes watching the scene enfolds, he couldn't wrap his mind around it either. The tap on the shoulder from Cairn almost startled him.
While Regus did indeed have a blade on him and had used it a few times in the past He knew that his mediocre skill with a blade would be nothing but a hindrance to him and his Companions. With feet firmly planted in the ground, The sparks of Lightning from his prestidigitation still present on his left arm. His heart was racing, adrenaline was surging threw his body. The rush before a battle was exciting yet he knew to calm himself, taking a deep breath the Sorcerer flicked his left wrist. Falling to his hand from a hidden strap beneath the sleeve of his billowing crimson cloak was a long, Simple looking wooden wand. Grasping it in his left hand, The Sorcerer held his arm outstretched towards the Goblins. "Im afraid you have chosen the wrong group to harass this day." Sparks of the Illusory lightning was flicking from his hand onto the wand.
