Ceasar, being at the end of the line, makes sure to keep an eye out on the creature, sword and shield ready. Regardless, he still tries to sneak around as well.
Bavarax attempts to move quietly although he was never known for his silent ability. When it came to combat though, he would welcome it. This creature though seemed like it was either deceptively intelligent or even a potential ally that they hadn't met yet. If combat was joined, it would be a fierce battle he was sure. He attempted to hold back his groan at being silent, but was glad the captain had noticed this creature before they came upon it.
The old sorcerer doesn´t exactly know how strong this beast is, but it´s perhaps better not to mess with it. On the other hand... what treasures might it hide?

At first, everything goes well. Gala may have knocked a loose rock down into the canyon, and Nuur may have gotten just a bit too close to the edge when he sneezed, and you couldn't blame Krag's armor for being so loud- but regardless, whatever that thing was, it had just woken up. Gabriel's eyes grew wide with fear as she mouthed the word "Run" while facing back at you all. As she charges toward the back of the line, Ceasar hears a soft, lustrous voice whisper to him, "Well, well, well, what do we have here?" A young, humanoid woman, somewhere between a half-elf and a human stands at the back of the line. "Delicious new treats, I see!" The sound of rocks breaking draws your attention away from the woman for a moment as you see the creature climbing up the walls of the canyon. The lion body is digging its sharp claws into the cliff face, climbing upwards as the human body is whispering under her breath. A closer look reveals that the humanoid body is identical to the woman standing before you. Gabriel dives off the cliff towards the creature, passing through the woman behind Ceasar as if she were mist.
The woman before you smiles. "Don't worry, my pretties. I won't let you escape so easily!" As she says this, four jackals emerge from their hiding places in front of you, shifting into forms halfway between jackals and humans as they stare you down with their feral gaze.

Ceasar, while somewhat attracted to the creature's voice, quickly snaps into the ready at seeing Gabriel phase through it and brings back up his shield and sword.

[Gabriel dived off the cliff to engage with the lamia, while the lamia called out her minions to attack you guys. I'll be resolving Gabriel and the lamia separately so that it doesn't take up any extra post space.)

Bavarax had readied his greataxe and swings at the nearest jackalware while roaring in defiance. "You will not slow us down. This will be a good test."
As Bavarax's greataxe comes down towards the jackalwere's head, Gabriel swoops up from canyon, shouting something in Celestial before diving back in. Everyone's weapons glow with a dim light, and the previously fearless jackalwere's eyes grow wide as the axe slices through its flesh. Howling in pain, the jackalwere stares at the wound before it realizes that it isn't going to close back up again.
Jackalwere 1 Damage Taken: 6
Cyllyn!
[I forgot they have immunity to non-silvered attacks, so Gabriel will be expending a modified Battlefield Inspiration to grant you all the ability to deal half-damage with weapons.]
OOC: Sorry for the late response! Holiday weekend took me away from the computer.
Cyllyn watches the blessing from Gabriel cover her dagger and staff as Bavarax cleaves into one of the jackalwere. Positioning herself ( 30 ft movement ) to be away from the other emerging beasts, she crosses her right hand across her chest and a shimmering light coalesces into her hand.
As Bavarax pulls his greataxe free of the creature, Cyl launches her energy forward. The shimmering light turns faintly blue as it careens forward...
Cyllyn casts Eldritch Blast (120 ft range) at the same Jackalwere that Bavarax hit: Attack: 18 Damage: 4
Herman tries to remain silent, but he already imagines that beast is smart.
