Cyllyn looks to Nuur as he approaches and smiles warmly. "Greetings elder human! Your prowess with the arcane was impressive. I am Cyllyn, or Cyl if you prefer. "
She watches with interest as the warriors discuss the gnoll situation and the village. With a curious stare she watches as Krag separates himself from the others. Still watching Krag she quietly says to Nuur "Everyone here is excited to rush ahead....except him." She points brazenly to Krag. "You rode him here. Do you know why he is looking back? Did he lose something?"
Captain Amakiir scratched his chin, contemplating all that's been said. "We can best the gnolls on foot, but with townsfolk... it may be more difficult to move them in time before the gnoll attack. That doesn't mean I'm for abandoning the village. I believe it's only a day and a half away from here." One hand still on his chin, the elf pulled out a worn, leather-bound tome from under his cloak. Flipping through the pages, Captain Amakiir found a page covered in arcane symbols. Chanting something under his breath, the elf closed his eyes. "Gnoll horde near Falcon's Nook. Requesting evacuation assistance for town. Approximately one day from Heaven's Reach. One Valkyrie in company. Valen Amakiir." As he opened his eyes, you can see them flash a bright white before fading to their normal color. "We should be getting backup from Heaven's Reach. With their help, we can pull the villagers out of harm's way. Though," he paused for a moment, glancing at Ceasar. "Sending a group ahead would be a good move. I don't know anyone in Falcon's Nook, so I can't use sending to let them know ahead of time."
Giving a curt nod at the captain, Ceasar pounds his fist over his heart, "Sir, I'd like to volunteer!" His eyes blaze with intensity and determination.
Bavarax hears this and is glad they are technically closer and will be reinforced. He nods to the captain and says,"I am ready to move out to do what we can." He looks over to rook,"You can very clearly fly, are you able to carry another person and still fly long distance?" He couldn't think of a faster way to get at least two people to town faster while the rest of the party trailed. Either way they looked at it, they needed to start moving.
Krag stands up from his pack, shoulders squared and hand on his sword. “Captain, I apologize for my reaction earlier. When I was a boy, my father would beat me for failing to fight or losing a fight. I have seen the horror that is war, and I prefer not to bring it upon others. I will go and keep others from having to fight.”
Rook turns to Bavarax and shakes his head. "Possibly but at that point I might as well be walking since it will slow my down considerably. I'm fine if we all stick together but if we need to send someone ahead to give warning to the village I may be the best option."
As Nuur ponders Cyllyn's questions, she steps away from him a bit to address the group and the captain. "I'd like to go too of course. These gnolls are behaving in a rather intriguing way and I'd like to see what comes of it. Of course helping people would be fine too, I suppose...but do you think we'll make it in time? Sending any one of us ahead alone may be rather perilous but moving all of us together may take longer. A quandary indeed."
"Oh Cyl...", Nuur chuckles, "You are certainly terrible at remembering your introductions, you already did introduce yourself. Either way, what´s our plan now... should we split up? I´m fine with anything as long as I can hone my magical prowess." He casts a Mage Hand and starts drawing into the Sand with it while he awaits a decision.
"Oh...oh dear. Yes, thank you. I did! My apologies." She gives Nuur a warm smile and turns to the others. "Im with Nuur. Whatever we think is best, I'm ready to go."
I feel like we need a group. We need someone fast, someone strong, someone who fights from range, and someone who can heal. At least. I offer myself to go. (Not just myself)
[Everyone is still in the same condition as they were when the chase ended, since no rests have been taken yet.]
Captain Amakiir cleared his throat before turning to the war party at large. "Everyone, listen up! We have a bit of an issue. There's a village, not too far from us, that the gnolls are likely to attack. It's called Falcon's Nook. Now, I've already requested backup from Heaven's Reach, so we'll be able to take on the gnoll horde. Issue is, I don't want those villagers anywhere near the fight, and since we're closer, I'm accepting volunteers for a group to go ahead and get the villagers prepped for evacuation. I already have a few-" the elf gestures to you here before continuing. "-but I wish to ensure the group reaches the village as intact as possible. To do that, we need enough to be hidden, but also enough to fend off any scouts they decide to send ahead. Any takers?" Gabriel stands in silence beside Captain Amakiir, surveying the crowd alongside the elvish captain.
Bavarax steps forward and nods at the captain. "I would volunteer to be part of the forward party to deal with any scouts. I arrived late to this particular group and would like to do all that I can." He only hopes any exhaustion he may face will be something he can overcome and stand tall to block the gnolls advance. he looks around at the group wondering who will be able and willing to join him.
ooc: I am not following in meta-gaming: @DM: do you really have needs for the party to split because we are too many? or, re-phrasing, is good or bad if everyone volunteers?
Cyllyn raises her hand and moves to stand next to Bavarax. "I also would like to go to, sir. I was not much help when the Gnolls first arrived, perhaps I can be of better assistance now." She lowers her hand, a determined look in her eye.
OOC: I may be wrong but I think the Captain is addressing the entire company of soldiers that we're all with, and the idea is that the 7 or so of us would go forward as an advanced party to aid the town as a small party moves faster than a whole company. I may be misunderstanding it though.

OOC: Is Krag back at full health now?
Nuur has no answer for Cyllyns question so he just shrugs. "I´m not really sure, my name is Nuur btw."
She turns back to him. "Oh my apologies! I am terrible at remembering to introduce myself. I am Cyllyn. But if you would like, you can call me Cyl. "
Herman stands still maybe a little troubled and confused, accepting what is needed from his captain

I am eager to go as well, a fast run won't anything but good

[I'm dropping in a bit for some new recruits to introduce themselves. And I wasn't sure if Herman was going to go along or not, if I'm being honest.]
