"Thanks, but we'll be ready. What do you know about Tresendar Manor? You're really better off telling me what I want to know - I'm the nice one. You don't want the others."
Ajax is getting tired of this dumb one, he takes Kyanite aside, bends down to whisper to him
”I will procure him some injury, some that, if we meet him in the near future, at least he won’t be able to do us harm”
the paladin gets close to the prisoner
”let’s take another approach, shall we?! For your own interest: pay attention. You are a mercenary right?! So you are here for money, fine, at least you are able to give value to something. For example...how much is your life?! How much your freedom is worth?!”
ooc: assuming the others will help Ajax in this, to hold the prisoner etc.
With two quick turns, Ajax brakes the prisoner ‘s thumb and index (of the arm that was carrying a weapon)
“now, even if they let you go, how good are you if you cannot hold a weapon, how good will you be if you cannot use...say...your wrists?! Your ankles?! So, don’t be stupid, get yourself together and get that grin out your face: my fellow warrior here asked you something, mind answering? And I add: you mentioned crypt, don’t you?”
The man screams as his fingers are broken. He looks at you with horror and growing fear. "Okay! Okay!" he squeals, then swallows hard. "The hideout is under the Manor; yes, there are crypts - that's where Glasstaff has us keep any prisoners." He looks around at the party with wide eyes.
Kyanite has maintained his facade throughout, but after the man confesses, makes his way quietly outside and hidden in an alley hia stomach heaves at the memory of the acts.
"Better Illusions and maybe he would have broken," he says to himself before he returns.
”for your own sake, what is this black spider? The leader is a human? A soldier or what? Come on, man, don’t make us pull the words from your mouth with the pincers! Answer with everything you know about the questions!”
"Glasstaff is human, yes! He is a wizard. He works for the Black Spider. I don't know who that is and I don't want to! You can find all the answers there, I swear!" The man cowers, eyeing Ajax fearfully.
ok, ok, now...how many are the redbrands and what are they going...or plan to do at this manor? and how many hang out in the inn where we met? I mean, what about this inn?! is that just a place to hang out where you are not at the manor? a headquarter? a place to sleep? what? and what about the innkeeper?
The man looks confused as Ajax questions him. "I don't know exactly how many of us there are - men come and go. The Manor is outside of town and is our hideout. The inn? What inn?" His face suddenly clears. "Oh! You mean the Sleeping Giant, right? It's just a place for us to drink when it gets too boring at the Manor."
Ajax pants and scratches his almost bald head. He would desire to kick the guy in the balls just for the pleasure but he is collects himself.
So, let's make it simple, answer these questions
And he makes them one by one, not all together: everytime he asks one, he waits for an aswer.
He is starting to believe the guy is quite dumb, not only beauce he have hit him hard in the street.
1) I know you cannot count to ten at the moment, but, at least, to 8...so how many, given the come and go, are the Redbrands? 8? 40? 80?
2) How did you come to know them? Did they recruit you or what? how and where?
3) Did they provide food, shelter and euqipment?
4) What are you Redbrands doing at the manor? What does a Redbrand do in general?
5) What does Glasstaff asks you to do and how can he provide for everyone? how is he like and what does he look like?
6) The inn: I imply...
no, too difficult words
how do you Redbrands treat the innkeeper? did you threaten him? or did you pay him well? I mean, how comes he lets you in , loosing all the other customers?
7) when you Redbrands go the inn, do you go all together or just few of you? in which time fo the day?
8) Why the name redbrands?
9) Last but not least: what is your name, son? Where are you from? and what were you doing before becoming a...not very well trained mercenary?
Only with this last question he shows some compassion, in the previous question he remains standing up, analytical and quite cold
((Yes - you heard about the woodcarver at the inn))
Mulligan - yes, intimidation check.
Intimidation: 11
The Redbrand snorts. "You don't scare me. Glasstaff will find you and you'll find out everything. After it's too late, of course."
"Thanks, but we'll be ready. What do you know about Tresendar Manor? You're really better off telling me what I want to know - I'm the nice one. You don't want the others."
The man laughs. "I'm not telling you anything. I'll be out of here soon and you'll join the others, wasting away in the crypts."
((I think I've got all I can get, anybody else want to take a shot?))
Ooc: Ajax will

Ajax keeps asking, unprturbed
It is not enough: how many are you and what do these Redbrand want? ah, and who is this Glasstaff ?
,
The man looks at Ajax fearfully. "Glasstaff is the leader - I don't know what he wants. He's just doing what the Black Spider told him to!"
ooc: have we ever heard of this black spider ?

((No - this is new information to you.))
