As the party moves into position, Kai and Wagner begin their magic. The sounds and illusions draw the attention of the goblin guards who were lazing behind the bushes on the other side of the stream. They are surprised by the appearance of the party.
Anyone who was moving up to the entrance may take a round of action before the goblins react.
Ajax lets the goblin come in the open then, if not too far for his javelin, he throws at them and then retires behind the most close piece of vegetation (a bush, a tree, whatever)
if within javelin range: Attack: 6 Damage: 8
if out of range, roll with disadvantage: Attack: 20 Damage: 7
Ajax: You are startled by the appearance of the goblins, and as you turn and hurl your javelin, your aim is slightly off and it falls harmlessly wide of its mark.
Odo: You rush up to the first goblin and deliver a sharp blow with your staff. As it reels back, you throw an elbow in its face, felling it instantly.
Mulligan: You charge up to the remaining goblin and swing. Your sword slices through its armor and leaves a bleeding slash. The goblin is not dead, but seeing his companion felled has rattled him. He immediately starts bargaining. "Stop! Please! I can help you! Please don't kill me!"
Mulligan: The goblin cowers before you. "I can help you, yes I can! Groob can help you! Yes, he can!" He continues babbling the same nonsense, insisting that he can help you, but offering no real information.
Odo walks up and sticks his staff under the chin of the goblin, slightly but forcefully raising its head. "Huh, I didn't know golberns could talk...." He then moves to the center of the cave entrance, next to Ajax, and sits down in the dirt. Staring into the dark he waits, should something decide to come out.
Mulligan: The goblin continues to cower in front of you. "Yes, yes, I am Groob!" At your next words, he frowns in confusion. "Groob not see two dwarves. Only one dwarf. He not here. Klarg sent dwarf and map to King Grol. Klarg watch for dwarf because King Grol say so." Seeing Ajax and Odo move towards the mouth of the cave, Groob flinches. "Not go in," he says. "Wolves are always hungry and brothers are armed."
Ajax & Odo: As Groob talks, you watch the mouth of the cave carefully. You can hear faint scratching sounds and some howling - it sounds faintly like wolves, but the sound is weirdly distorted, perhaps by the acoustics of the cave.
Ajax: Still cowering before you, Groob replies, "Klarg is goblin's boss. King Grol is king of Cragmaws. Klarg and everyone work for king." Groob nods, "Yes, brothers, more goblins, inside cave. Many brothers."
Odo: At your words, Groob cowers even more, beginning to plead. "No! Not kill Groob - Groob is helping!"
Wagner: Groob looks over at you as you speak, plainly searching for an ally among you. He nods and says, "The human still here. King Grol only want dwarf and map. Human not matter. He is in eating cave."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
ok, Groob, ok. We're not going to kill you, as long as you play nice."
Mulligan will then ask where the eating cave is, where Klarg is, where King Grol has gone, and what he knows about the eating cave and the human in it.
If Groob is hesitant to answer, Mulligan will pick up his hammer and say "remember, you promised to play nice."
Mulligan: "King Grol not here. Klarg here. In his cave. The human in eating cave with other goblins. Hurt. Eating cave this way," Groob says as he points to the left. "Klarg's cave that way," he says, pointing to the right. "Groob help. You let Groob go now, yes?" he says, still cowering.

"Groob. Is that your name, Groob? Ok, Groob, focus. There are two dwarves that were taken here lately. Where are they and why are they here?"

Ajax keeps the position , still looking inside, but tells the goblin (keeping it simple):
King Grol, who is he? and who is Kragl? your chief? Are they goblins like you? Are they here?
,
"I vote we chop Groob here up in to pieces and feed him to these hungry wolves." Odo says from the mouth of the cave. "Then they wouldn't bother us."
"Groob, mind telling us what happened to the human that was brought here?"
